i saw les paul sweep picking in the early fifties i think it was, who knows who did it before him. btw. i saw him tapping too. who knows how far that stuff goes back
Sweep picking a new technique? How come I learned it in the 60s then? Blackmore was the first guitarist I ever heard do it. That doesn't mean he was the first to do it, he was just the first I ever heard do it.
One of the few old-school guitarist that have kept up with modern technique -- just listen to the sweep picking. He spliced old and new techniques together, and was smoother than he has ever been. To be able to keep up with the times, is a sign of a truly great guitarist.
@sawiola55 Blackmore was never one for awards- he refused to turn up for Deep Purple's lifetime achievement award so it was given to the Bee Gees instead.
The GREATEST of all guitarist!!!!! Never gets boring to my ears ....... beautiful melodies ....... and artistic passages......he'll be number one to me till the end!!!! \m/ \m/
very nice I saw him in Charlotte N.C. last year and he didn't play the strat for the entire show! Still great music and show but was a little dissapointed.
Did you see the 93 tour? The Stuttgart show was fantastic on CDs.
@QueenReigns1 Wow, you have no idea. This is definately Ritchie jamming with Blackmore's Night. Saw em two years ago and will see them in May. Ritchie is an awesome guitarist. I've seen Yngwie and he is what I'll call a "showboat". For all his flair he really doesn't "give it all" to the crowd. Ritche does! So you and all those that thumbed this up can't even tell an artists style to see who is playing. Classic Ritchie style. FOOLS! Yngwie.....BWAAAHAHA,
Journeyman is actually a cover of the swedish artist "Nordman" a.k.a Håkan Hemlin. The original title is "Vandraren" and is to be considered as a one hit wonder though they have several other good songs.
🌅NOTHING BETTER THAN THIS.😜

@3irishreds
How do you miss him? He`s still making great music just different music.
I`ve pretty much heard them all. Blackmore is in his own leage above all others.
I never get bored of Blackmore.
The older Deep Purple long jams would get boring. Never Blackmore.
The guitarist used by all others to measure their own self worth.
oberfour1 5 months ago
@oberfour1 Difference is Blackmore writes the riff and licks anybody can learn them....

Salud !!
