@jcodym13 Yes it is ok not to wear gloves. However you may get hot metal sparks or slag from the piece you are working on. Also if your hands are close to the HOT piece of metal you would want to protect your hands. It is difficult to swing a hammer with gloves on.After hammering all day your hand slides inside your glove making it difficult to hold onto the hammer.
