  • at least with firtz it took me about 30 mintues to be confused this one just barley 2 mintues

  • I am a big Bakshi fan. Loved your retrospective on his films. Also the VHS Show... priceless. Great stuff.

  • I saw clips of this movie, It was makeing fun of god which i don't like because I'm a christian.

  • @somebutthead He did actually, but it was a short one. It's called, "Animation Mini Reviews."

  • I can explain the weird stuff in this movie...

    the weirdest scenes are what you would call a...

    BIG LIPPED ALLIGATOR MOMENT!

  • I do own this one. 3 bucks at Big Lots, ha. I don't care for it much though. I just don't relate to it or find it very... well... good. Like all Bakshi stuff though, it's interesting and worth seeing once or having in a thorough animation library, but I don't like Bakshi's lack of structure in much of his work.

  • i saw the r-rated Heavy Traffic box in a blockbuster when i was 4. thats when i fell in love with bakshi's work.

  • Also it was the first ever "bullet time shot" in american cinema

  • Ralph Bakshi is one of my favorites. Great review. I really like "Heavy Traffic" a lot, but I'd have to say I like "Coonskin" even better. Probably some of the best voice acting in any Bakshi film, features a lot of the same animated weirdness that made "Heavy Traffic" so great and has a genuinely interesting story to tell. Too bad we have yet to see an official DVD release of it. Nevertheless, as a Bakshi fan, I'm really enjoying these posts. Keep up the good work.

  • Bakshi's films are truly "experiences". It assaults all the senses. You have to see his films more than once to truly understand them. Great review. I love the scenes with Angie and Ida, as well as Snowflake.

  • Heavy traffic is one of my favorite bakshi films along with fritz the cat{nice review man}

  • This movie has some weird shit. You got to watch it a lot to get the story.

    This movie was the rise of Bob Taylor, Bakshi's best animator (who directed the Fritz sequel) and he animated that "free-for all". He also worked on Wizards and Coonskin.

  • Awesome movie!
