You know I always thought (and was taught) you should change your oil at 3000 miles or 3 months. (more if you use a good filter and good oil). and do you really need to buy a screw and washer?
@becooldontfreez You can buy everything at an auto parts store or even Walmart. Just ask the sales associates, look in the booklet nearby the filters in the aisle, or look it up online. Be sure add enough new engine oil before turning on your car (i.e. close to four litres)... you can always take out the excess later... better than damaging your engine by running it with not enough oil.
@becooldontfreez Well if you go to Auto Zone or any auto parts store they should have a database with everything on it. Just give them your car model and the year. And you really don't need a new screw and washer.
i managed to get it out and im selling the car. i dont work on the car anymore.. i dont have time and iv givn up in my ricer days. well not quite i want the FT-86 now
Fram sucks. Not that it'll blow your car up but there are better filters for less money. They are charging you a high price for the worst filter on the market. Even a Wal-mart SuperTech is better. I use Purolator or Motorcraft, same thing since MC is made by Pure. Ended those Fram cold start engine knocks and doesn't have some cheap paper end caps.. Read Bob the oil guy site for more.
Are you supposed to add oil to both sides of the oil filter o ring or just the one side, I always used to do it to both sides, I would assume your way is correct.
OMG it was sooo easy for you to remove it....WTF i'v been trying for 2 days and the plug wont come off. in the end i had to buy a new one because the one thats still in the car has no more edges this is gay. can anyone help how can i remove it with no edges on the plug????
Little note: I would recommend not getting a FRAM oil filter, id go with k&n. also make sure to get a magnetic plug to collect all the metal that may fall in your oil pan through engine wear. Good luck with your oil changes ^.^
@marcovl89 no i wouldnt think so cuz its doesnt really do that much except just stop the oil from draining, and im not going to buy a new one at all, so just use the old one and it should be good
At 2:56, the washer is the separate little round metallic plate(disc)in front of the nut(sump plug) that works as a 'seal' to the opening. It also prevents over-tightening and subsequent crack of the tank. It can be very useful.
You pour the oil from the wrong side of the bottle. Oil bottles are shaped like they are for a reason.

I thought you have to unscrew the oil filter when the oil is leaking out after you unscrewed the bolt thing.

Not really what I expected from searching with my artist name. :D Glad you found my remix useful, too bad the bass is a little distorted.
