  • Is this documentary trying to say Britain isn't ready for this exercise?

  • These people are incredibly stupid. -__-

  • i didn't know whether to laugh or cry at that women's stupidity. "i was surprised the scrape was pink underneath". wtf.

  • ive been called a bloody paki and what not , just cos im from pakistan and im a musim , y im i treated differently .

  • I think the problem here was that the participants took this exercise too personal. Some even felt acused of being racists and from here came the need to defend themselves.

  • Me, my brother and his wife were stop when he was driving us home from a family party. that means there was no drinking and children playing and we drove home at 9. They had no reasons to stop us, my brother was not speeding. But they stop us anyways and after about 10 min they let us go because they didn't find anything wrong. Ohh and yeah we are black!

  • this is just like 'mean girls' when Regina is like 'some of us shouldn't have to take this support session because some of us are only victims' and turns out every single person in her school was victimized by Regina hahaa everyone is a little bit racist towards the other race but some ppl just take it to the next level

  • are you fucking kidding me school teacher

  • I don't think the presenters understand the point of Elliott's experiment. It's all 'these *white* people are so racist', '*white* people just don't understand', '*white* people this and that'. This response is racist in itself. What about the white people who walked off earlier? Individual people are different to each other. The point of the experiment is to show that you can turn people against each other by picking any arbitrary difference. It is not to show how terrible *white* people are.

  • That schoolteacher is honestly killing me.

The problem is that strong denial is so RAMPANT.

This woman literally compared changing one's clothes to suit a business environment to something as involuntary as one's skin color.

  • "Show up looking like a scruffbag". Okay, so dont show up looking black? Oh. Really.

  • She was surprised that the scrape was pink underneath.

    Are. you. fucking. kidding me.

  • @neonbuildings You have to admit her comment is the epitome of ignorance and racism. Just....wow.

  • This is wrong. They are literally looking the world black and white.People are all the same and she is creating the problem right here firstly because she is giving so much attention to it and secondly because in 30 minutes she managed to make black people and white people look like two different species. If you live surounded by black people you would have a prejudice towards white people.Any abuse is wrong and to be honest i don't see the horrible discrimination.Where is it?

  • @MotherPraser Today we learned that white people spending two hours being treated like minorities is a violation of human rights.

  • @BazBake LMAO. Win statement.

  • I started talking back to the screen when the ignorant blonde lady wouldn't shut up

  • I meant to put in make up not experiment and damn it

  • And holy SHIT that blonde cunt who won't shut UP is the one who said that thing about seeing her black student's exposed flesh after falling down and how surprised she was to see that it was pink... good god kill me now.

  • Oh my GOD the guy at 1:51... I want to punch him in the face so badly.

  • Wow, that blonde teacher was so ill informed about biology. Come on! those half-caste comments and comments about skin were just ignorant. Break out a biology book lady.

  • "Play the game" what you mean behave decently? lol

  • @neons99 @neons99 What is your perception of decent behavior? Do you truly believe that her perception of decency is any different then your perception?

  • She had to pick the dumbest most closed minded people to ever do an experiment. Bunch of dumb fucks. Smh white folx is different fo sho!!

  • I don't think "subtle" is the right word to describe the racism going on --

  • People don't make a stand wth

  • I would like to see the reaction of the dumb blond while watching this video...

  • OMG the end of this clip is ridiculous. This woman is the biggest closet-racist I have ever seen.

  • OH. MY. GOD. The blonde teacher said that when one of her Black students fell over and scraped her face she was surprised to find out that it was "pink" underneath. How racist and stupid can you get?!? Your skin color is only caused by melanin (or lack thereof) in your skin. Right underneath your skin is flesh and blood, which is the same for everyone. Then she goes on to say that she didn't know if she expected it to be black underneath. Bitch, please. GTFO.

  • They are so damn racist

  • 11:00 - 11:07 fuck offfffffffff!!!!

  • I don't think that all white people are overtly racist or directly discriminate against non-whites, but I do think that nearly all of them are not aware of the what it is like to be a non-white person and how there is a system in place in our society that priveliges white people over people of other races. I think this exercise is really fascinating and an important learning experience for white people. If only some of the white people in this video weren't such idiots.

  • Is the blonde woman really that dumb? Yeah of course, he has to "conform" and cut his hair, wash his hair and get some tidy clothes but is that the same as having dark skin? How is the black guy supposed to "tidy" up? Get some skin bleacher?

  • people get discriminant if there thin, fat ,type of body shape, color of their skin or eye. its never going to end cause media has influence on it as well. beauty industry has its cause, with beauty standards. Alot girls and guys get bullied for not having the right skin color or beauty standard.

  • Man the denial of this group is stagering. Walk a mile in my shoes and tell me racisim isn't an issue. Best part was her husband conforming to his job. Lol. Get outta here.

  • I feel really bad for the teacher. She is so deeply in denial that it's hurts to bear witness to.

But I will say that the U.K. is such a completely different form of racism. Super subtle and seemingly well protected.

    AyungBLKMan

  • The fact that she is so confrontational skews the results, doesn't it? Maybe the fact that she is so mean right off the bat makes the "superior" group feel as if they need to treat the "inferior" group a certain way to earn her approval and not get bitched at.

  • isn't "half caste" an offensive term?

  • @TheJazuma Yeah but he's calling himself that, so I don't really see the point in bringing that up.

  • if that racist ass teacher was responsible for my education i would drop that class like a hot coal and promptly ensure that she never teaches again. how goddamn ignorant can y'all get i just can't even

  • @TinyVessels00 The worst part is that that horrible, horrible, ignorant woman is a 3rd grade teacher. She can do so much damage unchecked because the kids are too young to understand what's being done to them. Ugh what a disgusting bitch.

  • @TinyVessels00 I agree, how goddamn ignorant can some white people be to treat POC like this? I just hope by watching this that you understand that this is how we are treated on the regular. Make sure you continuously check your privilege.

  • @TinyVessels00 the teacher is not racist, maybe you are that's why u refuse to deal with the reality of racism which she is trying to show white ppl like u.

  • @TinyVessels00 Check this guy out missing the point.

  • Anyone notice that Ms. Racist Schoolteacher almost called her students "colored" before she corrected herself to Black? NOPE, she's DEFINITELY not racist!

  • I really really really wish they would stop interrupting the man talking about his daughter - they are proving the exercise more and more necessary every time they do it.

  • White people, you are embarrassing me...

  • Privileged idiots. They're proving her point.

  • omg did she really just compare being a rugby player to being white?

  • I want to slap that white lady. The fact that she absolutely refuses to get the point and then gets UPSET and claims that she's encountered as much racism as blacks just shows me how much of a pampered, silly white girl she is./RACIST COMMENT. ugh.

  • Oh look. A white woman who feels like her race makes her a victim.

  • omgggg the white lady talking bout her pupil!! :O bout scraping her face omgg looooool

  • @Android18gurl

right? she was surprised that she was pink underneath. Uhm your student is still a human.

  • @IMNOTMICHEALJORDAN hmmmmm.... I wonder why that is? (bells should be ringing in your head right now)

  • Its frightening that Taylor is a school teacher. Disgusting.

  • Oh Fuck!! This pink skin comment was so awful. Barf

  • Wait...she was surprised there was pink underneath? WTF?? And she's a teacher? Wow.

  • Ahhhhh! I want to slap the blonde lady!

  • looool YOU CANT BEAT WHITE PEOPLE AT THERE OWN GAME. THIS ISNT AND NOTHING IS GOING TO WORK AGAINST US ITS JUST OUR THING WE HAVE IN OUR BLOOD.

  • @lopez5678 Sports

  • NO DOUBT ..IT DOESNT MATTER ON RACE CREED RELIGION CULTURE SEX.,OR SEXUALITY ,...ONE LOVE ....EVERYONE IN THE WORLD HAS STRUGGLES AND WE JUST NEED TO UNITE AND REACH OUR TRUE POTENTIAL :)

  • Oh my god. The blond lady. And she's a fucking teacher!

  • 7 blue eyed people dislike this video.

  • So. Much. Anger.

  • damn bro my man that spoke for the brown eyes first had the realest story, thats sad yo

  • @IMNOTMICHEALJORDAN

You're right, they do live in areas where there is more crime. No wonder when their government does everything in their power to keep them there. You think it's just a coincidence that in ghettos you can find a liquor and gun store on every corner and there's not a community centre in sight? The kids go to over crowded schools where the teachers don't give a shit. They see their parents struggle every damn day. They learn the only way to succeed is to cheat the system

  • theres still discrimination but not against color but its against age for example the older generation 35 and older think anyone younger than 25 dont know shit and r lazy

  • White People or any other race can hate black people all they want but it has no power to impact a whole group of Black people. You can clearly see that Today because we have a Black President and First Family. It's ignorant to me when some white people think that black people are violent, but they forget that all their white ancestors knew was violence. They were the ones who hung people from trees and beat slaves. They think most black people are lazy but they had slaves do their work. Irony

  • @IMNOTMICHEALJORDAN and because of sterotypes

  • Is that man comparing weight to racism. Wow. All these people are so angry not realizing the way the feel is only a touch of what people of color have been going through for longer than they can imagine.

  • @CancorseTV1 i want to meet her too

  • @melmariemartin right! But they dont get that at all.

  • judge people according to their personalities, not what they look like, try and do it today...

  • @IMNOTMICHEALJORDAN no, not correct at all. statistically, people of color are stopped/arrested/detained more often, receive longer prison terms and serve more actual time in prison than white people FOR THE EXACT SAME CRIMES. racial profiling, biased legal systems, power and money. do some research.

  • Rascism is like shit, its really had to wash completely out if its been ingrained awhile.

However if it's been there, subtly, and in the background, eventually you won't even notice it any more.

  • She isn't saying all white people are racist she is just making it a point to let people feel how it feels to be discriminated against.

  • @denniscj1 I think all white people are inherently racist. All people are inherently racist. But if you;re in the gutter and have no power, the implications are null and void. If you have all the power, racism really hurts people.

  • Watch Part 3, she explains it. In school, we're conditioned to the myth of white superiority, so, she says, if you graduated high school, then yes, you are racist, its a learned behavior. And you must unlearn...actively, just as you actively learned it.

  • @denniscj1 Watch Part 3, she explains it. In school, we're conditioned to the myth of white superiority, so, she says, if you graduated high school, then yes, you are racist, its a learned behavior. And you must unlearn...actively, just as you actively learned it.

  • omg that blonde lady terry is such an ignorant woman. She acting so stupid she is trying to compare the wrong thngs end of.

  • I can't believe what that woman said on 13:48 i truly believe this woman is racist, but she is not fully aware of it.

  • omg just world phenomenon at 6:10

    cognitive dissonance

frustration agression theory at the beginning with the blue eyed people

sorry for the comments. I have a test on this stuff soon haha but yeah very very interesting

  • 2:00 cognitive dissonance :)

god her exercise just has SO many social psychology...

btw if you dont know what cognitive dissonance is its basically when you try to justify your actions. For example the "tubby guy" said he has to deal with it too cause hes "fat" hes trying to justify the fact that racism doesnt happen by saying he cant lose his fat when he can

and jane just shot him down shes amazing i really wanna meet her

  • @CancorseTV1 Me too!!

  • These black people just think that they should be treated better than other people

  • @melmariemartin

However, have you ever noticed whenever a black person do not agree with homosexuality or don't care to voice their opinion on women's rights or what have you ... whites will toss black history in a black person's face? Such as, "As a black person, you of all people should know what it feels like to be discriminated against," and so forth. Basically, they love to cherry pick black history. Meaning only bring up racism and blacks when it is convienent for their agenda.

  • @melmariemartin

I agree, but you are wasting your time trying to explain this. I have learned that whites have a very summarize version of racism and black history. They don't truly know it or understand it in depth because it isn't important to them. They are the first ones to belittled a black person's perspective as nonsense or fairytales we manifest inside our heads. It's always dismissive and done with the air of "I'm so superior and you people are so sensitive. Get over it already."

  • not in the majority compare to blacks or any nonwhite race discussing racism. These ignoramuses in this video are talking about "I have been discriminated against because I am overweight or I have blonde hair and blue eyes." O-Kay. Kinda like being lynch for lies on a crime you didn't commit, or police brutality on the sole basis of your skin color, or constantly watching TV or reading editorials attacking your race (base on stereotypes) in a patronizing manner. Yeah, the UK is backwards.

  • Sighs, the blonde bitch and reference to conformity. What a pathetic example. EVERYONE has to conform to a dress code. It's not the same as racism. As a black American, I am use to this type of denial. For whatever reason, when it comes to racism and black people ... people go deaf. I would never tell a woman her concerns were less valid if discussing sexism in the workplace or the fact women typically make less then men. Yes, you have your male pigs who will dispute this, but it is

  • every one is racist in some level

  • The old blonde woman is a CLUELESS, ASSWIPE !

  • @stev1212 NO.....ITS THE RIGHT WAY TO GO ABOUT IT.

  • What annoys me is the way there is the assumption of every white person being racist... And by doing this they're only adding fuel to the fire that 'All black people do is moan!' This type of racial education is the wrong way to go about it.

  • My conclusion of this is that if someone that wants to listen they will do, as some did. The whole point was to get people to be quiet and listen/ experiment and they couldn't even do that.

  • Damn I hate Jane Elliot.... since she dropped the "blue vs brown" smokescreen and reverted to "white vs black", the exercise has lost its entire point. She preaches the exacerbation of our differences and the putting-down of whites.

Never once has she been filmed in an equal situation with an intelligent opponent of her views.

  • @michael99887766 you still dont understand the point! she want to make the blue eyes people FEEL what its like to be dicriminated for something you can not change e.g. Race and not have POWER to do anything about it. then at the end she will explain the whole point of the experiment. the truth is WHITE PEOPLE dont know what its like to be Black or Asian, you might think you know but you DONT.

  • @michael99887766 an "intelligent opponent" to the idea that racism is extremely harmful to society is an oxymoron.

  • OH GOD! the blonde women is a teacher :(

  • @morelibations where i live, she would be fired so fast. wonder how the UK schools deal with it

  • The blonde woman actually has the best views. She points out about white racism she is not retarded at all she has a great point, ageism is a big problem what she points out that it is as big of a problem as racism and people can't help going old!

  • @Notthatevilguitarguy i agree there is on-white racism, but the way she put things it's pretty clear she had no idea what true racism is. she is not retarded; she is ignorant

  • @Notthatevilguitarguy I totally agree with you. White racism has impovirished white people, ensuring politicians and opportunities are dominated by minorities :s

She should have done an ageism experiment in her own time, not refuse to participate in an experiment that she admitted would have no change in her life. Imagine being black and old :(

  • you'll be able to make a donkey sit at the table before whites are civilized

  • @krucialred26 LOL

  • This is amazing...I love it when we discuss the problems and try to find the root. Beyond interesting!

  • the blond women is so retarded its not even funny anymore

  • That blonde woman needs to be discriminated against more.

  • @melmariemartin

Then why do we not see similar actions by other groups who also suffered by whites? Where are the similar high rates of crime and gang violence committed by Native Americans, Jews, etc. Why is it, only the blacks have the seemingly protected species shield which allows them a handy ready made excuse for any and all misbehavior?

  • @Alderyc88

Get over the whole slavery angle. What is it with you people and this belief that black Americans are obsess or cling to slavery as some form of retribution in dealing with racism? For crying out loud if slavery is even mention when discussing American history, people become unhinged. Oh yeah, it's raaaaaacist to bring up any event that showcase white people in a bad light. Lord, can you people even look at the video and understand what she is saying without resorting to nonsense.

  • @melmariemartin

The problem with the racist debate as it concerns black americans today is the faulty use of slavery as a means to explain the actions of today. Many people of many cultures sustained acts of slavery and racism much greater than blacks, even to this day people are harshly treated and actively killed. Yet not a single black (american) person today can claim to have ever experienced slavery. A reactionary argument is flawed. If the actions of blacks today was linked to slavery,...

  • @melmariemartin None of these things ever happened in Britain.

  • @melmariemartin well we all know right from wrong & don't say its different in areas of poverty because one of my friends pretty much had to raise himself and he has turned out fine.

  • NOW do u see why obamas election was important?

  • i know i am programd to be racist.it maddens me

  • he blond hair woman is soooooooooooooo typical of white people in west london that comes into my work place. they make people hate their race, if i was evil i would probably do horrible things to white people.

  • this beautiful young girl fell over, scraped her cheek, and i was surprised to see that she was 'pink' underneath!!!.......wow! that blonde woman is beyond ignorant.

  • I for 1 thought Great Britain was more or less westernised compared to the U.S...they were more open..but seiing this concept is just sad... i really did loose some respect for them thinking they are not as horrible as American whites... they are just not as blunt with it.

  • It's not that all white people are racist, its the fact they don't experience racism like us coloured people do....you think minuscule things like being fatter then normal, can cause discrimination....just remember you can change those things..no matter how hard i try i can't change the colour of my skin

  • @ishamaini1

Typical example of "colored people" racism. It always amazes me how much people of color like to pretend they are the only people on the planet who know anything of being a victim of racism. Your statement of "Not all white people are racist, but they don't experience racism as colored people do" Is beyond racist, as much as it would be for me to say, "Not all blacks are lowlife criminals, but they just don't know how to be civilized as white people do".

  • "ready for a tea break" LOL @ 6:00

  • before i watch any youtube video the first thing i do is read and rate the first page of comments, then do the rest afterward

  • If they're comparing hair colour of fat-ness to compare it to racism ... they don't get it!

  • I'm shocked at how stubborn and unwilling the blue-eyed group is. Let's say, for the sake of argument, that black people are more racist than white people. I don't believe that is true, but let's say it is. So what? This exercise is not about who is more racist and who is not racist. It is about putting yourself in the position of the group that is most affected by racism. No wonder the brown-eyed people look so downcast in the face of such a brick wall. Their words just can't get through.

  • i get the whole racism thing.. but as a white person, i feel the effects of it too. people always just assume that i'm racist because i'm white. i'm being judged by the colour of my skin too.

  • @xtootsiexo To the extent and as constantly as a non-white? I sincerely doubt it.

  • All white people are racist and no non whites are racist what a load of bullshit.

  • @Lyney84bcfc I hope you and toot see the irony of your comments and what the psychologists were saying about the blue-eyed group.

  • Everybody is equally racist.. eyes brown or colored.. she's arguing a pointless subject.. im white.. i know im racist.. but i live in an extremely Asian n black populated area where i also get discriminated against.. getting myself a job close to home.. cant even think about it.. Im not saying im a Hate racist.. i just find it funny.. id rather perfer to call it Sterotyping then being a racist... Jane Your Just A Fucking Bitch. But Ur Funny.. I Also Find Your Test To Be Of No Point.

  • asian? come on now, everybody loves the asians

  • it's class not race, being black can just be a sign of class

  • the thing is times and discrimation have changed we don't call black people n****rs to there face anymore we say it behind their back and call it a joke.

  • @melmariemartin no she was at Boise State University in Idaho

  • I just saw Jane Elliott yesterday at my college, she was a guest speaker at Boise State University and she opened my eyes even more to what I already experienced as a Mexican/American in the United States. A student (white woman) at my college went through this exercise and she started crying on stage. I didn't understand why but then her children walked up on stage and they were not white. She felt her childrens' pain. Should every white person have kids of a different color to understand??

  • @pacxman1167 I was there too, but I don't think it's necessary for white people to have children of a different color to feel the pain of racism. I think we all shared in that pain on some level. It was plainly in front of us, undeniable and very tragic. Saying that we need to be the parents of children who are discriminated against to be able to understand racism only says that we can't even see the pain associated with racism unless it has some direct effect on our lives.

  • @pacxman1167 Are you for White Genocide yes or no ? --- White people have a fucking human right to exist agree ?

  • White Europeans and White Americans have the same thing, white skinned privilege

  • 6:06

Jane: "You're blaming the victim. You're saying 'What are YOU going to do..?'"

Idiot Woman: "NO, I just said 'What are WE (going to do about racism)?!' I did! You just weren't listening."

    5:49

Idiot Woman: "What I'd like to hear is what YOU propose to do..."

    PWNGE YA BLOODY TWIT

  • I must affirm strongly that discrimination in the context of racial diction, cannot be compared to the cultural or historical cede, in which THIS experiment by Jane Elliot is bringing forth to these assigned subjects. Instant those who are advocating a counterargument that has not interlinked these POINTS in which the experiment HOPES to achieve, is showing the flaws of what racism or perhaps discrimination really is. It's a REPRESSIVE AND SUBLIMINAL ISSUE! which unfolds as you can see

  • I'm a Austrian soldier now (got the austrian passport- conscription), both of my parents are asian, well from BD, lived in Birmingham for 4 years and even do speak brummiese. Apart from that I speak viennese and tyrolian, thats where our army camp is. Afterwards im moving back home to england to my parents. Speaking the local dialect does help a lot. Being a half British- Asian who was born and partly grew up in the capital city of Austria can be quite interresting so it aint all that bad ;)

  • how the hell is this blonde woman a school teacher? She's too damn stupid.

  • yes, the blonde woman is ignorant about true racism, but I can appreciate she may have been discriminated against because of age, sex, and hair colour. Hang on, after her comment about a black child being grazed and showing "pink" skin underneath - yep, she is plain old ignorant.

  • yes, the blonde woman is ignorant about true racism, but I can appreciate she may have been discriminated against because of age, sex, and hair colour.

  • @hecnj001 About age, yes. But the rest can easily be changed.

  • THE BLONDE HAIRED WOMAN IS BEYOND IGNORANT

  • @LILNAPPIHEAD she's actually a bloody idiot.
