this is my rig

PS3 on samsung 2333 SyncMaster FHD

i've gotten my old pc for 600$ c2d 2.66 ghz

and 9400 gt 1 gb it was like hell i cant play the game in hd so take this advice if you want cheap but good console for hd take the ps3 stay away from 360 and if you have budget dont get less than these rig C2Q 2.8 and 9800 GT 1GB DDR3

there are benefits to pc. on paper a pc with a 1gb-2gb graphics card is certainly better at gaming than a ps3. but with ps3 you will find that it is optimized for gaming. so while a pc will have more power you cant use the power in the way a ps3 can. also ps3 has blu ray which holds 50gb of data whereas 360 has only 9gb so definately go for ps3. if you take time to optimize your pc through the os then go for pc.

History has shown time and time again that rushing into better graphics generally leads to poor initial gameplay experience. The Wii dominated the market early on simply because Nintendo worked on the quality of the game experience first over the graphics, whereas you can see that PS3 is only just now starting to come out with a decent selection of games. Game companies have to master new technology before being able to use it effectively, just like anyone else.

Cheaper is not always the reason. I game on xbox360, PS3 and my PC. I like Consols because they are very simple to use. It's a lot less complicated and always relaible when playing a game. I like PC because it has more options such as custom maps, boards and MODS that you will never see on consols. Yes you do need a powerfull PC. I have a Quad core with Dual Nvidia cards spent $2K+ but gaming is a small part of what it's used for.

sure, with $600 you can build a gaming PC, but you have to take into account other things such as: consoles like XBOX 360 and PS3 are about $200 cheaper, many people rather enjoy gaming on a comfortable couch.

you don't have to pay to play on pc, you have better controls on PC, you have more customizability on PC, better graphics (for those graphics whores) on PC, more indepth games (simulators are always nice) on PC

You know guys, to all fanboys. dont hate on other consoles because you dont like them, each system has its pro's and con's about it, and graphics wise? who cares what graphics looks like! i would rather play Final Fantasy II over Halo 3 or Metal Gear Solid 4. All that matters is gameplay. Blue-Ray vs HD? it doesnt matter its the same damn thing.. you cannot tell that much of a difference. stop hating on other peoples opinion's. real gamers play on a pc but depending on your video card and processor the game could be slow and choppy or fast and awesome it all depends what kind of pc you have. NVIDIA graphichs gards bring out the true gaming experience but if you are not a tech freak or you dont feel like spending 500 bucks buying a video card you should by a console i prefer an xbox 360

It's garbage? I've owned only one PS3, where as I've owned 4 Xbox 360's. And the PS3 is garbage, hmmmm.....I think you need to get your facts straight before saying the PS3 is garbage, 92% of the people that bought a PS3 haven't had to replace it turn it back in to get fixed. Oh, and I forgot the PS3 has a Blu-Ray player, and it has better graphics.

i still have the 360 i bought in nov, 2005 with the chrome inlay on the controllers, and it seriously works perfect!, i would have just left my comment at that...but it doesnt matter if ps3 has more power under the hood, (thats a legit statement btw) BUT most if not ALL games that are on both sytems simultaneously in FACT look slightly better on 360...and yes its because its easier to develop for...so 4 years later and the "more powerful" system still cant keep up...ill take a 360 anyday =)

lol, i like how you say the "more powerful" system can't keep up. Have you seen MGS4, Killzone 2, or Little Big Planet. Compare those three games to the game with the best graphics on the 360 (Gears of War 2 or Farcry 2 I think have the best graphics on the 360) and you will see that the gameplay and graphics on the PS3 beat those games by a large margin.

What I ment was I have went through four Xbox 360's becuase of the Red Ring of Death. It sounds like you have a PS3 by the comments you have posted, which one (between the Xbox 360 and PS3) do you think is better. I would say PS3.

God, the Xbox 360's hardware sucks so much compared to the PS3. The only thing keeping my Xbox from being sold is the fact that it still have a great line up of games... and the fact that the rest of the world plays Xbox Live.

I do own all the systems.

The Wii I never played as much as to the shortage of good games and a system not good for hardcore gamers like myself.

The PS3 came short of my expectations providing a slightly flawed interface and an exceeding amount of updates. I wouldn't mind the updates if they weren't glitched and didn't freeze all the time.

The Xbox 360 is the best in my opinion, slowly taking the PS3's titles and providing a spot on interface and an absolutely perfect online system.

HOME and every feature on the PS3 is free and it's still in beta. We get like one update after 3 months. The software sucks? I could atleast type this comment through my PS3 and run Linux for my programming needs without the console overheating.

I am all PC here, I threw away my Xbox 360 2 years ago. Currently running on an i7 920, 6g of ddr3, ASUS P6T mobo, and an HD 3870. What the guys say is right, as gaming with friends is just amazing in comparison to 360. Screw 360, and PS3, why? consoles are much better ie the xbox and even then u can run linux on a ps3 and it will act like a computer pcs only are good for a few ganes such as crysis and counterstrike and i know that xbox and ps3 graphics are upscaled but consoles are much cheaper than gaming pcs and they haave more titles

Consoles don't require constant hardware upgrades and they lack the whole "crashing" feature and no playing lag to worry about.

PCs are definitely more versatile and can bring a much bigger and better experience to you from the same game on a console. I agree that once you get the keyboard and mouse down its the way to go.

Sorry to say it guys, but PC gaming is in decline. Soon consoles will completely over shadow pc gaming. As the number of casual gamers increases. You have to be very dedicated when gaming on PC. Spending extra money on your PC specs, setting everything up when installing, all that stuff. Console gaming is simple, straight forward, and easy to get in to.

Gaming on PC is also straight forward and simple. Sure, it may take a little more effort, but not nearly as much as you described. Only if you want to do some hardcore PC gaming (overclocking and the works) will you have to be "very dedicated."

PC's are good for MMO's and Strategy's though. Lol both being games that usually require dedication (Especially MMO's). But RTS games are "improving" on consoles now...
