you made me laugh at 1:05 that's a weird letter i know ^^
it was funny last time i was in Denmark, this young girl wanted to practise our alphabets together.. and she was totally and i mean totally upset when she found out that the Dutch are missing 3 letters å æ ø. she was like you guys are weird ^^
In a 'fairy tale story-book', named- 'Serendipity´s Matterhorn', which I wrote in 2011, I spoke of a mysterious 'good witch' named 'Frau Helle', and after watching this video, concluded that this Danish girl fits my idea of what 'Frau Helle' could have been like; that´s the reason for having added this 'class' to my collection of favorites. Enjoy, and learn a little Danish!
@Mutumaniac Yes, I've heard that Finnish is harder than Danish. I definitely don't think Danish is harder. I mean, look at Japanese, Cantonese, and Arabic. Oo I'm learning Danish (jeg er amerikaner) and yeah it's difficult, but not as much as Finnish, Estonian, Japanese, Chinese, etc.
why teach useless words, teach better things that you can actually use in life, like ``i don`t speak danish well,`` or ``i need help,`` not you`re sweet!
I've heard that spoken Danish sounds like Norwegian with the proverbial hot potato in your mouth. I've used your videos to enhance my Danish instruction, and know the basics well enough. The only negativity is it's quite difficult to find native Danish speakers to practice speaking to, make mistakes, and learn from those mistakes. Still I find it fun to learn the language of Majken Poulsen and Peter Schmeichel, both idols to me. Ønske mig held og lykke!

I hope that next time that you would liven up your vids by shaking your boobs around on screen!I think that this would help encourage me to learn danish language better!
I enjoyed the video! Umm I actually just this past summer stayed a couple of weeks with a family in DK and wish I had known more Danish to use but it is so hard to learn lol. I really do like it though it's harder than German for sure and I have been learning German for the past 4 years now!
Damn it, I had both of those lists written out nice and clean, and both times the stupid comments section rearranged my lists into paragraphs. YouTube really annoys me sometimes.
To summarize the vocabulary learned in this video (Danish, English): Klokken, Clock Elleve, Eleven Jeg, I/Me Mit, My Jeg hedder, My name is (it's a phrase referring to oneself) Er, Is/Are (this is the verb "to be") Navn, Name Toilettet/Badeværelse, Bathroom (the second one is the actual bathroom, the first refers to the toilet itself but the meaning will be understood) Hvor, Where Farvel/Vi ses/Hej hej, Goodbye (various forms) Hej, Hello (informal) Goddag, Hello (formal)
To summarize the phrases learned in this video: Klokken er [number]. -> The time is ___. Mit navn er [your name]. -> My name is ___. Jeg hedder [your name]. -> My name is ___. Hvor er toilettet? -> Where is the bathroom? Hvor er badeværelset? -> Where is the bathroom? Farvel! -> Goodbye. (polite) Vi ses. -> Goodbye. (general purpose) Hej hej. -> Goodbye. (very informal) Hej. -> Hello. (very informal) Goddag. -> Hello. (polite) Refer to the playback for pronunciation concerns.
@mantoookaz I doubt that too. Some years ago i was in the news, that danish was something like the sixth most difficult language to lear, so she is wrong. She may have heard it from af friend or something. But danes like to be the best in eny thing just to get known internationally :b

You're cute. You're funny. You held my interest...so that I actually learned some words. I'm going to listen to this again and again and then go on to your next video. Thanx so much ; ) xxxooo
@dreasmile Maybe its spelled flippe-skønt, but it sounds like flibbeskønt. It's old hippie jargon from the 60s and is used to express something "super-wonderful".
For instance: she says "mij" is "I" in english.. in Dutch it means "me"
"Mij" means "me" in Dutch. Almost the same, but Dutch is more logical.
"Jij" in Dutch means someone else, same in Danish.. in German they say "Du" oder "Sie".. less formal. They speak of "Du" when they know someone. In Holland we speak of "U" when we don't know someone... but "Jij" when we do.
m mom is danish, but i was born in Canada , her first language is danish and i grew up hearing it from my mormor & morfar .. it kind of helps me say the words now ..i wish i had learned it when i was younger would of been easier
How does Danis resemble to English? Does it use indicatives and affixes, like "I am doing something" is written similarry, but with different words? I ask because there are languages (like Hungarian) where these transforms the words. @SammySpeaksUp Dansk er det rareste språket, muligens i hele universet. Dere har tatt de rareste elementene fra det germanske språket og gjort de til og med rarere! Dere høres ut som dere har en kartoffel sittende fast i halsen!
@SammySpeaksUp Vent a...
I'm from the Netherlands, the speach is a bit the same, and some words look very familiar. If I hear two danish speak I can almost tell what they are talking about.
@kitchenfromhell I feel the same about Dutch, some of the words are almost the same. I once heard an expert say that danish and dutch sound the same. Our language intonation is almost the same too, and same expert said that it had something to do with our countries being flat, meaning that we don't have any mountains. I don't know if he is right but it sound logical to me :)
Gider I godt lige stoppe med at kritisere hende saa groft... jeg synes at hun gjorde/goer det godt! :D det er jo for at laere folk som ikke forstaar sproget... selvfoelgelig skal hun snakke langsomt.
Du goer det fandme godt!! :D hilsner fra en dansk pige i Spanien :P
What the fuck! Danish is nearly english and you are talking about it like it's fucking Japanese. This is so weird, that it's totally freaking me out. What the fuck!

@SammySpeaksUp Vent a...

I'm from the Netherlands, the speach is a bit the same, and some words look very familiar. If I hear two danish speak I can almost tell what they are talking about.
For me English is as easy as Dutch.
