  • I don't play upright so correct me if I'm wrong; but I think you're supposed to use the side of your finger instead of the tip to play. But as far as I can tell the solo is awesome so if you play it with the tips and aren't uncomfortable doing so then I don't see a problem with being different.

  • nice work

  • I absolutely love EUBs because they bridge the gap between an acoustic upright and an electric bass guitar. They can be very "acoustic" sounding or very "electric" sounding or a blend between the two. This is more on the electric side and it's brilliant. Showcases the emotion and expressive capabilities of an acoustic and the nimbleness and lack of girth of an electric. Keep it up!

  • don't listen to any purists...you sounded great. The important thing is the musicality and ideas....and the audience enjoyed it.

  • What scale is he using?

  • When this video was recorded I´ve been playing electric upright for less than a year, so I couldn´t call myself a double bassist, and I still can´t. But I still go on, I´m caught in the web of the upright yet :)

  • smoking solo but not upright technique-using bass guitar right hand technique, your tone will improve tenfold if you use proper right hand technique

  • Is it me, or does it seem that he has the fingering placed on his fingerboard?

  • @Frawmus The NS basses have that from the factory.

  • cool, man. dig the EUB sound.

  • why not just use a bass guitar ?

  • eh this doesnt sound good

  • what model is this Ns Design upright bass?

  • CR4

  • Great solo!!! Muy buen!!
