Rooster update! The archives of the British Pathé Newsreel are in the hands of the Daily Mail, a newspaper. The copyright on the rooster-logo of British Pathe News however is still owned by the French Pathé company. Just to let you know...
Why did the fellow ask for no rooster? The rooster was their emblem. Obfviously he has no idea what is the Pathé (or Pathè if you insist) Rooser is or was.
The soundtrack is also used for the opening and closing titles of Len Berman's monthly "Spanning the World" feature {sports oddities and "bloopers"} on WNBC-TV's "NEWS 4 NEW YORK" newscasts. "Warner-Pathe News" lasted from around 1948 into 1956...

Warner Bros. took over the RKO Pathé Newsreel at the time when Howard Hughes was busy destroing RKO Radio Pictures.

Duly noted. I don't have any hard-copy references on the old newsreels, so I often go by the earliest one of these I've seen.
