shes so cute i had 2 surgerys one when i think i was 9 or 10 and theanother one i think i was younger i dont remember but right now im 13 and i have what they call a weak eye or lazy eye one eye is lower then the other just the eye lid and it looks like im sleepy in one eye and the first surgery was to make my eyes sreght ter cuz when i would look at something my eyes were crekid i dont know how to sell that but o well and the other was to make my lid like the other one go to my chanle and see
i was born with a cataract in my left eye. i had the broken lens removed at 5 weeks old. i had a squint as a child and wore an eye patch, through my early years before starting school, on my right eye to make the left stronger. this helped a little but the squint was still there. i had an operation to fix my squint when i was around 8 and that sorted it out pretty well. i'm now 15 and my eye does turn out when im tired but other than that the operation was great. i'd recommend it to anyone :)
my brother had the same thing, but his eyes would switch. it wasnt always the same one acting up. he had eye surgery at about 4, hes now 8, wears glasses, and hasnt had a problem since.
Last one was proberly when I was 14. I am now 19, and they have started to wander off again! So back to the GP to see what can be done.
What people don't understand is that it plays a big part on your self-esteam, like in college, my friend in college said, "are you looking at me". It really does affect you.
I don't remember trying glasses or patches, maybe a patch. Strange.
I had a squint as a child and still have a mild case. I had to wear glasses when I was just 3 and was teased throughout preschool and elementary so I stopped wearing my glasses and eye patch, altogether, at age 7. If I had continued, I probably wouldn't have a problem, today. But even now, reading what I'm typing, my eye is starting to turn in because I don't have my reading glasses on. So I strongly encourage those who have children with a squint to correct while you can, you'll be thankful
I used to have the same problem when i was little like 4-5 year- old . I was born in the seventh month and as a result one of my eyelid was and still is a bit lower than the other one and my eyes was a bit off i mean it was not focusing on the same objects as the other one. I wore glasses for a few years around 2-3 and my eye was fixed but my eyelid remines the same. I am now 18 and i can do a surgery but the chance to make it like my other eyelid is low so i won't risk it. I am sure the little
i had squint surgery when i was five and i'm 19 now. i remember it pretty vividly and still have my squint! i didn't get a patch for my 'lazy' eye so i have almost no vision in that one, but my other eye is pretty much perfect, leaving me with very little depth perception :( i really wish i'd just had a patch and no surgery
I do not remember having a patch or glasses, just surgery, which i now look out of one eye at a time, have depth perception, and squint coming back, Ive had 4 operations, I have 2d vision, my right eye is lazy and is blurred!
I too wish they had tried other options instead of jumping into surgery. : (
i had like 4 operations and i still have a lazy eye. nhs are idiots. they also said i would never see in my left eye yet i can now see colours and shadows because i was born with like no vision in it. they realy dont have a clue
I have a squint. I had the op years ago but the squint came back. I don't know why it was not repeated. It's nicer to have no glasses than have glasses. I do not have binocular vision and 3D films don't 'work' for me. Good for Holly that this was done and went well.
I had to have 2 eye operations when I was around Holly's age. I remember the second one pretty vividly.
I am now 20 and don't even need glasses. One of my eyes is still slightly lazy and can go off centre (particularly when I've had a few drinks) but nothing that is particularly noticeable. So I highly recommend getting your eye muscles tightened if you have a squint eye, particularly when you're young.
my daughter has a squint and we've been told to wait till september to have her tested for glasses. i've already wasted a year bocause the first eye doctor said "it's nothing, it'll go away" Aaaaaaaargh!
I had a squint that was corrected at the age of four. I had to wear an eye patch on the stronger eye to encourage the weak eye to work harder. A girl in my class also wore an eye patch so it was never a problem at school and we were very young. It was never a problem again, although you can sometimes see my 'lazy eye' pointing inwards when I am tired. Also I am slightly short sighted but only in the 'stronger' eye as apparently it was strined in those early years. I hope this reassures parents.
except mine wasn't corrected until i was eight, so had to wear patches for quite a while. i find that when i look down for too long my lazy eye comes back and i get double vision! other than that, i also have no problems with my vision!
