  • incredible, wow - thanks for posting

  • She should have been one of the greats of Broadway...too bad she has a tendancy to attract flops! I took a week-long master class from her on vocal performance and she was one of THE best teachers i have ever learned from

  • ahhh so did I! USPA? she was so helpful!

  • yah!

  • ahhhh awesome!! Haha, did she use the "DIBS" acronym with you guys??

  • She is one of the few belters who has a legitimate upper register and was quite adept at "shifting gears" to a soft interpretation, something Ethel Merman could never do.

  • Oh, no, no, no. Ethel Merman was capable of beautifully soft performances - on almost everyone of her original cast recordings you'll get a soft performance: Small World in Gypsy, the show business reprise on Annie 1966, Make it Another Old Fashioned form Hattie, etc. On her very last recording, her opening chorus of I Got Rhythm is gently heartbreaking.

  • I agree. Also a nice gentle recording of her singing "Little Lamb" on a cd of "Gypsy."

  • i wanna see some more of her!!!

  • anyone know what year this is from?

  • That was great! I want to post her "I Had a Ball" performance on Ed Sullivan but my video is totally unwatchable. Anyone have this on VHS?
