Hello brothers, I'm a fan of the Metal Gear series since the 32bit generation. This game came to close on a high note this epic story as the protagonist and the legendary Snake. I live in Brazil, and here the games come with a little delay compared to other countries. But I watched the video and loved it, I can not wait to get MGS4 in my hands. Big hug for everyone.

Because I believe it was down to the idea that war is full of machines and they wanted a natural sound to be heard in combat because it is usually gunfire/explosions.

this might be a stealth game but, you can do it anyway you want you don't have to be stealth. thats whats so great about metal gear solid you can do it anyway you want and avoid being stealth, theres only just risks not using stealth.

Splinter Cell is way different than MGS. There is far more emphasis on sound and light levels. Hell, I think all the way up to MGS2 running on non-noisy surface (no grates, puddles) goes completely unnoticed by the enemy, no matter how close.

On the other hand, there's many situations in MGS (especially MGS2) that's aspects are more sensitive than Splinter Cell, like standing at a corner with a light above you (shows a shadow), or wet feet making footprints.

Personally I liked MGS 3 better. The story was UNBELIEVABLE. Probably the most compelling out of all the MGS series.

MGS4 is still amazing though. If you watch the end cinematics (like 2 hours I think) and have played through all four MGS, and know the story lines of Metal Gear 1 and 2, you're in for a real treat. It will shatter the foundation of your existence.

Dude, of course this game is worth buying. IF you don't have a PS3, it's worth to buy one JUST because of this game. Metal Gear Solid 4 is one of the most epic games ever made, it's storyline is top notch, it's gameplay is suited for those who like FPS, or it's got an awesome thirdperson shooter aswell! Or you can play as a stealthy CQC player! MGS4 got 100/100 from many places and game of the year from all 5 big sites! Metal Gear Solid 4 is truely the most made, so far.
