  • Except that I have super sexy eyebrows, and I'm hispanic, I look alot like this guy, and I'm a gay Christian too! This guy has stolen my identity! Hee hee.....I want to use a little bit of make-up and give him a hint of eyebrows. I think he looks like Powder grown up. On the other hand, I look like an aging Jean Luc Piccard.....latin style.....Now, I feel like eating tacos.....Yay! Bye! I'm off to pick up take out Mexican food.

  • I really love your videos. I love the way that you keep your videos objective and fact based. Really great stuff, thank you!

  • Historians will tell you the city of sodom engaged in SEXUAL SIN including homosexuality, adultery, beastiality and public orgies even deficating on one another that's why the cities were destroyed.

  • now that is what I have been saying for yrs.. people are so stupid to think Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because everyone was gay...well done video.. the Pat Robertson clip was a good touch..it amazes me that these churches are still preaching this crap to justify their bigotry towards gay people

  • i am actually enjoying watching your videos though.

  • Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed not because of gays. They were destroyed because they lost faith in God. The same is happening in America.

  • Wow you make a very good point with everything and its funny how you never hear the story of gibeah, because they actually ended up raping the female . aha and honestly, that does make sense: If EVERYONE in sodom was Homosexual, then why would lot, not only his daughters too the men, but try and find them husbands in the city. it doesnt make sense. even pat robertson admits it has nothing to do with homosexuality.

  • Wow...this guy is AWESOME!!!! :)

  • I love that you educate people. You've definitely helped me a lot in many ways. I love that you do not need to use vulgarity, profanity, or obscene content to get your point across. You actually use the facts that you have before you.

  • Non-gay people just don't understand gay people! It's just sad that non gay Christians reject gays! They should be welcoming gays into the religion!

  • Here are the actual GPS coordinants for these two cities:

    Sodom; 31deg. 04' 56.67" N by 35 deg. 21' 56.06" E

    Gommorah; 31deg. 18' 41.51" N by 35deg. 22' 26.52" E

Check it out on Google earth, the white sulfer that raines down still litters the countryside. You canactually go there and pick it out of the ground.

  • I love your videos, they are really helpful to christians both conservative and liberal. please keep up the good work, God bless you, Justin, my brother in Christ.

  • huh, I never knew the whole story of Sodom and Gomorrah but what you said filled in the gaps and made more sence than what most people plather on about. How messed up are our ancestors? How messed up is it that stuff like that still happens today, like in your jail refference

  • "It's because they wanted to have sex with a divine being, if you do something wrong to/with a divine being, that's wicked."

Actually, the decision had been made by our Lord to destroy the city well before the incident with the mob at Lot's door who's intentions, though very likely violent, were NOT specified since the Hebrew word for "know" has ELEVEN different definitions. Ironic how a SINGLE word has been SO exploited in an effort to condemn an entire segment of our population.

  • If I told an angel I wanted to have sex with him, I'd not be surprised if he destroyed my city. It's because they wanted to have sex with a divine being, if you do something wrong to/with a divine being, that's wicked.

  • "If I told an angel I wanted to have sex with him, I'd not be surprised if he destroyed my city."

Was this comment posted before or after watching the video???

  • I may not agree with the bible but I do actually like when christians actually read their bible. Most christians have never really opened it up and taken a look in it. I opened the bible one day and read it and that's one of the reasons why I'm not a christian anymore. Thank you for sharing this though :) It really helps the religious zealots actually go back and stop judging. :)

  • Great job! :) I think it's alarming that just as in Judges 19, in Genesis 19 Lot offers his (virgin) daughters to the men who want to get to the angels. Sad.

  • You are so right! It was about rape. So unfortunate that so many people who claim to love God think it's okay to judge and mistreat someone because of their sexual orientation which they never chose for themselves. I guess it's their way at not looking at things in their own lives for which they unlike a gay person can change. I think it's better to be gay than to be a bigot who's trying to hide behind one's religion. I'm glad I know Christians who love God and others.

  • If it's never MENTIONED it could never be assumed that it's about homosexuality. "There's a sex party over at Bob's HOUSE!" lol I like your video I just wanted to point out that funny moment lol. "Was it something in the WATER!?" I think the men just wanted control. Rape is about power and control and if they threaten them with RAPE they have control (how ever wicked or deranged it is o.0) over them with violence. It was fear of the unknown men (angels) and what they were there for.

  • thank you :)

  • ABSOLUTELY GENIUS!

  • thank you!!!

  • People will believe what they want to and that is ok. I for one do not believe that Sodom was not destroyed just because of homosexuality, but also the fact that there was murder, rape, theft, and a number of other sins that come across. I don't know though. I don't think we ever will. At least not right now!

  • Oh, I posted that before finishing the video....

  • The act of rape is not a sexual act, but an act of control. Assuming everyone knows this as a fact, this townspeople are obviously not attracted to these angels, they want to show their control over them, demean them and overpower them.

Therefore, this story has nothing to do with homosexuality.

  • Sodom and gomorrah was not destroyed for being homosexual but not looking after the poor and defenceless they did not care for the widows and orphans, they were rebellious against God and out of that rebellion came sexual sin of all sorts. Romans 1 describes that

    God Bless

  • The "false teacher" claim is a VERY old and sad attempt to invalidate those Christians with alternate views. Matthew 12:24 is probably the best example of the tragic cries of those who shut their minds and hearts to people trying to get them to see other points of view the way Christ tried with the Pharisees.

  • Best bible study ever!

  • You've just completed my argument for gay rights, once you realize that the chances of Sodom being a gay city are so amazingly low, there is simply no excuse other than hate to not support gay rights. My only complaint is using Pat Robertson as an example, he is a despicable man.

  • Very interesting.

  • where did people get that idea? thanks for clearing up the misinformation!

  • We all sin and fall short of the glory of God, but when you are saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, and you ask Jesus to be your LORD and SAVIOR, and you lay your life down and He dwells in you, you will strive to be like Christ and not practice sin. Truly repenting and turning from the sins of the flesh. I pray that you find this helpful and seek God, for if you seek Him, you will surely find him.

  • @GigabyteMe79 Hi, you said....

"you lay your life down and He dwells in you"... Actually Christ is the one who laid down His life.

"I pray that you find this helpful and seek God, for if you seek Him, you will surely find him."

Actually we need to read EVERYTHING the Bible says. NO ONE can seek God the way God commands us to, and that is seeking Him perfectly. NO ONE CAN!

Ro 3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

God must DRAW (save) us FIRST.

  • I have been having these same thoughts too recently.

    1. Is it really possible, before mass media and transit, that an entire city could be gay? (San Francisco--only 15% gay).

    2. Why would Lot move to a city populated by mostly gay men?

    3. Why would Lot have offered his daughters to gay men?

    4. I have never recently heard of any gangs of gay men raping men. Men rape men in prison, but this is a show of power, not of sexual orientation.

Logic clearly supports the statements made in the video.

  • Thanks for the ray of reason amongst all the chaos and misinformation.

  • hun, you are amazing! :) I would love to talk to you!

  • This post was very enlightening! I thank you, Justin, and GCN as a whole, for all the hope you inspire!

  • Why would one think that the men of Sodom were Gay? These were ordinary citizens who would have raped the men. This is something that happens in Afghanistan daily, and especially to the "dancing boys" on wednesdays. These are heterosexual citizens doing this.

  • @roddymark Because many modern people, especially if they are opinionated or bigotted, are extremely historically uneducated, and would not understand ancient documentation in it's proper cultural context. To today's world "men on men" = "gay." In the ancient world obviously tjat wasn't the case.

  • Sodom & Gomorrah were not destroyed because of homosexuality but also because of other abominations. Try reading this other passages: Deuteronomy 23: 17-18, 1 Kings 14:24, 1 Kings 15:12, 1 Kings 22:46, Romans 1:24-27, 2 Kings 23:7, Judges 19:22, Jude 1:7, 1 Corinthians 6:9 those are just some of them. If you guys are not totally convinced you can respond so I can get you some more. We can try twisting the word for our own convenience but the word is clear to our understanding. God bless.

  • I agree 100% my parish priest said exactly that same thing at our Bible study. Why would a loving god create homosexual people, then kill those same people for being homosexuals?

  • bun down de che che

  • 3 minutes into it....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Nice vid Justin! Keep the work on man. =)

  • a suggestion to you... do the next reseach about sodom in al-Quran...

  • This video went beyond my expectations. It is absolutely awesome!

  • im just wondering but wat bible are yuu using? king james version?

  • he was using the hebrew text

  • I appreciate your attempt at exegesis and you mentioned reading and understanding context. You didn't mention anything else in chapter 19.

I understand Sodom wasn't judged for a single sin but because society had gotten so accepting of all evil. Thus "both young and old, all the people from every quarter."

These two men were clearly super natural as Lot fell face down when he meet them. Also Lot offers up his "untouched" daughters and tells his brothers of Sodom to not act wickedly.

  • Love it!!! 5/5!!!!

  • Justin-you know I am 100% behind you. Keep up the good work. Very good use of words and humor. Love the drop in video of Pat Robertson. Cleaver. All of us at The Evangelical Network are praying for you that you will reach those GLBT people who do not have a safe church to attend and truly learn Gods word. Ed Ness

  • Homosexual temptation, like any temptation, is not sin in itself. Sin is giving in to the temptation by participating in the homosexual act or fantasizing about it. In Romans chapter 1, homosexuality is referred to as perversion. Many people believe that they were born homosexual and can do nothing to change it. According to Scripture, every person is born with a sin nature! We each have a propensity toward different types of sin but are called by God to leave our sin nature behind.

  • I personally do agree with the belief that Sodom and Gomorrah were annihilated purely becuase they were evil, rather that gay. In this one episode that covers the story of Abraham in the BBC show "Testament: The Bible in Animation" It shows the way the people of Sodom behaved in silhouetted form, and the animation in those certain scenes are depicted as looking for scary.

  • In the ancient pagan world their was no separate designation for homosexuality. That was until the late 19th and early 20th century when these designations were first introduced.

  • i believe the Semitic god Yahweh destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah not because of the homosexuality going on. you have to understand the angels sent by god were there to investigate whatever the hell was going on right? okay? got it so far, look what happened, some friends of lot came to lot and wanted to have sex and rape the angels. this angered the Semitic god Yahweh .

  • Many believe that it was 2 angels and the pre-incarnate Christ that visited Abraham that day and went to the city of Sodom.

  • keeping you in my prayers!!

  • Justin..thank you so much...and now I have a clearer view that God really do love and understand me..and I somehow understand myself in God's perspective..your explanation about sodom and gibeah brings a perspective about myself in God's loving and caring eye..am christian and gay..God bless you more.

  • Another thing, I have read that Angels are asexual. I am not sure how strong the Biblical basis for this is but a quick google search came up with Luke 20:34-36

  • Pat Robertson better read Jude 7

  • Know means sex in every other story in the bible. And lot knew his daughters and they bore him sons. Adam knew Eve. etc

  • I read that story. I would love to confer with you further about this. Please send me a website, a phone number, SOMETHING so I can communicate with you!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!!

  • props. i've had too many arguments about the bible and whether or not it condemns homosexuality, but sodom and gomorrah were always question marks for me. thanks!

  • you have got a point, time for more research, and discussion with the elders

  • very informative.

  • The funniest thing is that people fail to read the rest of the chapter in Genesis.

"So Lot went OUT and spoke to his sons-in-law who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said, "Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!" But his sons-in law thought he was joking." Genesis 19:14 (NIV).

Lot went 'out' implying that the sons-in law were in the rape gang. How can they be gay if they were to marry Lot's daughters?

  • No actually most Christian do not think both cities were just gay. As a matter of fact you are the first person to ever bring this up to me. Most Christians believe the cities were destroyed for many evil reasons including Homosexuality. You may also want to add Jude 1: 7 to your list of verses on the subject.

  • @lizzarddawgJude1: 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, what does this have to do with homosexuals that are in committed relationships? nothing! good!! i guess im fine then!

  • well done...

  • you go girl! keep up the good work!

  • Didnt the sodom version say that the men of sadom rejected lots daughters?

Didnt he offer his daughters to the men and they rejected them for the prosprect of the men?

  • Yes, just like in French, there are two words for "to know" SAVOIR and CONNAITRE. Both mean know but if you use the wrong one it means "in an intimate way" while the other one means to know a person.

This is different than the example with "know" described here, but it is just an example of how languages are all different.

And I thought about that too... what are the chances of every person in a city being gay? Zero.

15% of SF is gay, and I think only about half of the Castro is gay.

  • Very Good!! The way you explained it was the way I've always thought about it. I just recently went through the book of Judges, and I noticed the similarity with the Genesis story and it really struck me. Go back and read what Paul says in Romans, "Because they did not give thanks to God, He gave them over to a reprobate mind. They did not worship the Creator" And go back and read Matt. 19:11-12. And do the research, at the end He says "The one who can accept this should accept this."

  • Fascinating! I didn't know about Gibea, but have had a hard time accepting the account of Sodom being destroyed for homosexuality. Afterall, Lot's wife turned back to look (to long for?), and was turned into a pillar of salt. I've never heard of a straight woman longing for a gay city... Anyway, it was also great to hear Pat Robertson address the sin of Sodom... I've never heard a preacher use that scripture about Sodom, only the passage in Gen. 19.

  • there is something wrong with the entire story. city was wicked , 3 aliens show up , they were very attractive, so people wanted to know them ,

because of their wickedness god rained down sulphur very confusing, that place was destroyed for some other reason

  • james 2:19

False Converts are people who say that they have been born again but arent; they bear no fruit to prove their salvation. A false convert thinks lightly of his sin. He believes he can be a Christian and still have sin in his life.

  • According to archeology there are no proof´s for Sodom and Gomorrah being destroyed by the fact that their citizens had sex with the same gender!

The Greeks and the Roman´s male population had a habit of sleeping with other males and why did n God destroy them as well?

  • You've learned your lessons at an early age....A berean cannot be fooled. A light in a dark and confusing world of religion and dogma.

  • I love this passage, I am a hardcore christian who is also gay. I love God with all my heart and he has never forsaken me. The Bible is never contradicting, but because of the translation, it is extremely difficult to completely translate the bible to its entirety. I read this passage (Judges ch 19) and it was like this really cool man said. But, I also read Jude 1:17 and it talked about Gommorah's Sexual immorality. Its something I'll have to keep researching.

  • Kewl! I feel a lot better about my faith now.

  • I agree with your comments, but actually there are several interpretations for each of your conclusions. I encourage people to read "The Church and the Homosexual" by John J. McNeill; "Christianity, Social Tolerance and Homosexuality" by John Boswell; "What the Bible Really Says about Homosexuality" by Daniel A. Helminiak; "Openly Gay Openly Christian" by Rev. Samuel Kader - they all have slightly different interpretations of the story of Sodom, none of which supports any condemnation of Gays.

  • There are a LOT of excellent references of the story of Sodom and Gomorrah - but one of the best I've read is "Return to Sodom and Gomorrah: Bible Stories from Archaeologists" by Charles Pellegrino. According to Pellegrino, if you read the Bible literally the first mentions of Sodom put it in Iraq near the Euphrates River - and the Hebrews often warred with the King of Sodom.

  • Thanks for making the difference! God bless you

  • My friend, you also miss a striking point. Lot had lived in Sodom for many years and was infamous for preaching against their wicked ways. Therefore, Lot knew who he was up against when the men came to attack his guests. If those men were gays, why would Lot offer to them his 2 daughters? GAY MEN AREN'T ATTRACTED TO GIRLS, so why did Lot refer them to his daughters? Lot did so because those attackers were not gays, they were evil, violent men AND I AM UPSET THAT PASTORS CONTINUE TO MISINFORM...!

  • Its funny people take those stories and twist it to justify what ever opinions they have towards God. I am a str8 Christian, I will admit I dont know what its like to be gay, so I dont touch that issue. The Bible is clear, but people choose to interpret it one way or the other. Only God will judge. I will say I totally agree with you on this subject. I use your same explanation to correct atheists who say God hates gays, and thats why He destroyed Sodom and Gomorah or Gibeah.

  • But...doesn't it say in Leviticus that if a man lays with mankind as he does a woman, both of them have created an abomination.

I'm just..trying to understand. I am Christian...been raised in it all my life. But...I am attracted to the same sex. And...my parents are homophobic. I just need answers.

  • Yeah...

So, I don't actually have... *words* for how awesome you are. But thanks for all of your work.

  • It's kind of impossible to have a city of ONLY gays, too. After all, if there was only gay sex going on, then how would they reproduce to make more gay people? lol

I wish the homophobic Bible-thumpers would actually read the book...

    Oh, and happy anti-homophobia day!

  • lmao!

    u soo have a point!

  • why cant the BIG christian leaders accept the truth about homosexuality in the bible..

  • This is an awesome explanation. Thanks, Justin.

  • wow that was good.the more i look for God the more i find him in places i thought He would never be. thank you

  • Great video you pointed out a really common misconception. However, at the same time:

'If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have

done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will

be on their own heads.' (Leviticus 20:13)

'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.'

    (Leviticus 18:22)

These passages are other commonly cited sections of the bible which appear to strongly opposes homosexuality. Please share your thoughts,

  • oh wow..... thnx

  • this is what i've been trying to explain to my parents for ages...thank you.

    peace&love

  • this guy was on Dr phil LOL !!!!

it was like in 2004 or something

  • late 2005

  • We could have thousands of ways to interpret bible, but it is really the holy spirit given from God granting us our moral sense, and leading our life direction. Yet, all my sense from my limited Biblical knowledge and moral concept told be being gay (homosexual acts, I am not saying homosexual attraction) is something God dislike. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and we should glorify God with our body. What do you think?

  • I give this video a 5/5...and I'm an atheist ^^

  • Great video, and reading, thanks. It's nice to see discussion of a bible passage presented logically and without the leapfrog inferences I've seen from some other "Christian" videographers.

  • Well great job, Justin I do agree that Sodom & Gomorrah was wicked city, they are judge by God not because of being gay but a lot more other wicked stuff.

But it could be a possibility that being gay is one of the wicked sin these cities are condemned for.

Please don't be disturbed, just wanted to discuss the topic here. :)

  • Hi KongSiengFong,

There's not really enough space in YouTube comments to get into all the details and have a decent discussion, but if you head to the GCN website (the address is in the video) then there's lots more information and a place to discuss both sides. :)

  • @GayChristianNetwork Your right about the dominance part. Throughout history this has been a tool tactic for domination. Napoleons army did it and the Muslims as well as the Christians did this during the crusades.

  • KongSiengFong, I agree with your comments that Sodom & Gomorrah was destroyed because it was a wicked city, and for the bible to have the account of the 2 angels being nearly raped/sodomised by the men of the city, and the fact that the angels blinded their eyes, it is a strong possibility that being gay is one of the wicked sins of the city.

Also 1 Corinthians 6:9 Apostle Paul states " Neither fornicators,idolaters...homosexuals, sodomites etc..shall inherit the Kingdom of God."

  • actually, what 1 corinthians 6:9 does not condemn homosexuals, but more specifically male prostitutes, and homosexual offenders. there is a big difference. not all gay people prostitute themselves or sexually assault others. i would also encourage you to check out the historical context behind this passage.

  • You are so witty and I love your videos. They not only are informative but also funny.

    You're amazing!

  • Good point - This is what Pat Robertson was quoting:

    Ezekiel 16:48-50 (New International Version)

48 As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign LORD, your sister Sodom and her daughters never did what you and your daughters have done. 49 " 'Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy. 50 They were haughty and did detestable things before me. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen.

  • Hey Angels Come to Our Sex Party!!! LMAO!!!!!

  • the word "homosexuality" did not exist..

  • WOW!! Good job i will be researching this. Look for a response to this soon.

  • "To each their own" - J. Christ

  • Very well presented, I happen to be a gay pagan formerly a Christian. I would like to say I have nothing against Christianity as a whole. It's great to see people of faith but have been able to reconcile themselves with the misinterpretations found in this book. Metropolitan community Church has been at the forefront of this. Keep up the work you're helping people.

  • I love how you see this...It's very interesting.

  • this make sooo much sense!

  • I really liked your video and your channel. If you need any help getting this video or channel exposed I use a site called tubeviews.(net) It has really helped like 20 of my main videos get to the top in position. God Bless!

    Cole Thomas

  • so why did lot offer his two unmarried daughters

  • thanks so much, another great informational vid. i never knew the specifics and frankly i kind of didn't want to. but you explained it in an interesting and accessible way that really made sense.

so once again, thanks for these great videos.

  • Thank you so much for your video's! I have NEVER even heard or read the story of Gibeah...a real eye opener. I am a straight-Christian, with so many questions on this issue. I am wondering if you have done any video's on sex out-side of marriage.

  • I just have to say that I think this whole gay debate thing is hilarious, well from an outsiders point of view.

But with this story especially, it's even more hilarious that people actually make a big thing about it. I knew that Sodom was not destroyed for being gay, obviously, but there are alot of people who still use that story, without knowing about it truely. Ya, anyway, Justin, good job of making people aware of this, and actually having them think for themselves.

  • Wow...this is really enlightening stuff. I never really know this about the true meaning of the destruction of the city of Sodom. I believe sooo many Christians don't know this about Sodom and use it unwittingly against their brothers & sisters. Very cool vid clip! Thanks for posting it.

  • Thats true, god didint destroy it becuase there where gays, its becuase everyone was wicked.

  • the sin of inhospitality?

  • I'm straight, but have always questioned the whole Sodom story & if gay was sinful. I feel like being gay is something from birth. So why would God allow someone to be born, a tiny infant, without sin, & DAMN them to hell from the start? It's not logical. Thank you for explaining this in such a clear manner. Now I have a way of expaining it to others.

  • THANKS !!!GREAT VIDEOS!

  • Very well done!!! So many myths concerning being gay and the bible need to be disspelled. Keep up the good work.

  • Are there other passages in the bible that people use against homosexuality? And if so could you do videos on those?

    Thanks,

    Ann

  • The book "Openly Gay, Openly Christian," by Rev. Samuel Kader deals with this account in much more detail using the Strong's Concordance from the original KJV Bible. He also points out the original Greek the New Testament was first translated in did not a word for the noun 'homosexual,' in fact our 20/21 century English the word 'homosexual' did not even exist until the 1800s.

  • Hm...

    Just pwnd my school. Lawl.

I'm gay and a christian. People always told me that being gay was sinful, and that they go to hell, so I was freaking out.

Then I sorta did my reasearch. :]

Found the history and several verses that could help me.

  • I'm a heterosexual 42 year old female and all of my life, I ALWAYS had the belief that Sodom and Gommorah was destroyed because of homosexuality. As a former Christian, I thought I knew this story backwards and forwards. Hell, I knew nothing!! Thank you so much for breaking this story down and also sharing the story of Gibeah in Judges 19.

My gosh ... you make so much sense! Sadly, most Christians will not see the truth because they have been fed a lie for so very long!

  • Excellent explanation. I, in fact, heard the same explanation from a Rabi once. You did a great job.

  • I think Lot offering his daughters to the angry mob of men to rape tells me the men of this city were straight.

  • Also, a good passage was a teaching of Jesus that said "some men were born eunuchs in their mothers womb." In olden days, eunuchs could be gay men who were aloud near the kings wives, which is why it stands for "the trusted ones" and eunuchs arent just castrated men, because only girls can be born with no penis. By the way, i'm 15, and for years i've been researching about homosexuality, because i never understood why they are persecuted. Peace B

  • I have a question, didn't Lot send out his daughters to be raped rather than the angels to appease the mob?

  • was a story about inhospitality and rape... it had NOTHING to do with being homosexual.. there were accounts of rape involving men on men, but it was NOT consented.. the church needs to drop this whole story and read the TRUTH...

  • Justin;

It's about time somebody said this and I read that story in Judges before seeing this video. Sodom was clearly a story of rape.

  • hey Justin,

I'm a straight female new christian, but I always accepted the gay community. I continue to struggle with 'but gay is wrong in Christianity, right? But I don't agree.' thank you for the videos! I love you as a brother in Christ! I hope you tackle the passage in Romans about homosexuals not inheriting the kingdom of heaven in the next video. that is the other passage I struggle with.

  • In few Romans interpretations, the word meaning homosexuals sometime has offending in front of it. And supposedly the original text was a word that meant "one that loves to be penetrated" so I would think the original text was intended for perverts, not consenting, loving individuals.

  • sexuality has nothing to do with religion, faith & sexuality are not on the same script, what people do in private is private. Its the Catholic church that are constanly brainwashing into being homophobic, i am a Catholic & also gay. My sexuality doesn't interfere with my faith, i dont exactly bring my sexuaity to mass do i so i dont understand why you would say that, you say you have accepted the gay community yes? but the question is do you know any gay christians? there is a BIG differance.

  • 2 Thessalonians 2:8-10 (NKJV)

8 And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming. 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

  • I posted a video about Sodom and Gomorrah. What you say is true Sodom and the other cities were not destroyed because of homosexuality. twas destroyed because the people completely rejected the Spirit of God. The clue is found here.

    Ezekiel 16:49

Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

Pride makes it hard to recieve counsel but humility will save us

  • Justin, you may want to note that Gen 19:5 refers to "all the people", which in Hebrew is "am". This word refers to groups of people, including *women*. So there is a textual clue that it is not a male-only gang! Further, one Hebrew scholar told me that the idiom "young and old" included children. Further, you may want to note that it would have been an *orgy*. So even if it were consensual, and even if it were males only, it would have been an orgy, which complicates a homophobic view.

  • There's a lot more I would have loved to have pointed out, but I actually ended up having to cut some stuff in order to keep it within YouTube's 10 minute time limit. (As you can see, I went right up to the edge this time!!) :)

  • lol true. Great video by the way! Oh, also, I've heard that if you make a director's account for youtube, then you can post videos that are longer than 10 minutes. You may want to check into that. peace

  • Director accounts used to be able to post longer videos, but not anymore. These days it's 10 minutes for everyone, unless you had extra privileges before the change.

  • cool

  • Our ministry is a GLBT (Gay-Lesbian) affirming ministry. I have posted a video response to this video, which is supportive of this position, not in opposition to it.

  • Aha! Very clever! I'm very glad you made this video, cleared a few questions up for me as well.

I don't think I've ever laughed as hard during any of your other videos as I did during this one.

  • Nice video, Justin. I'm not Christian myself (nor gay), but I enjoy hearing your perspective on things. I'm always interested in how people from different backgrounds view things.

Anyway, you're right that male rape is a horrible crime, and has nothing to do with orientation. I believe it's more likely to by done by men trying to prove their so-called 'manliness' (and straightness) by physically dominating another guy. I hope we're moving towards a culture without this definition of manliness.

  • Hey Justin,

I'm happy you brought up the story of Gibeah because most Christians don't know of this story. When I first read it, I was astonished at how eerily similar the story was with Sodom. And as you appointed out, in the end of the Gibeah story, the men ended up raping the female concubine instead. This completely annihilates the notion that the people of Sodom were gay. Real gay men are simply not interested in woman. Society needs to be educated. Keep these videos coming. Thank you.

  • an all inspiring and enlightening video you got Justin! thank u so much! i waish more churches would view these channel and understand the point of the sodom and gommorah thing! very very good video made all the sense in the world! making the bible more of a tool of love rather than violence and a lethal weapon! lol :) MARRY ME lol just kiddin! ;-)

  • Know was used to suggest sexual knowledge or activity, but here the term "know" used by the KJ translaters literally comes from a Hebrew term meaning "to ascertain by seeing." If anything, the men of Sodom wanted to use the angelic men as visual stimuli for sexual titilation. Pornography is a huge industry in this country that generates BILLIONS of $ a year on this same exact principle. To stimulate sexually thru visual stimuli. God's punishment (striking them blind) perfectly fit the crime.

  • The Hebrew word "know?" The Hebrew word was not "know"... "Know" is a word used by the King James translaters, not the original Hebrew writers.

  • When can we expect another video?

  • First of all, I am so glad I know this now.

    Second, your candidness is refreshing.

    Third, thank you.

  • Awesome video Justin...

And I feel so dirty now that I have a point of agreement with Pat Robertson!

  • Love the video, thanks Justin! It's great.

  • enjoyed it very much,

    peace and love

  • Thanks so much for this Justin! I can't believe how many people still think that they were destroyed for being gay. And I was very surprised about the Pat Robertson clip. Thanks for enlightening me!

  • Thank God for this awesome channel! I appreciate you educating me about gay issues regarding the Bible. God bless, and please keep it up!!!!!

  • Thanks Justin! I thank God that you answered the call to the ministry. GCN has been just what I was praying for! Keep up the good work!

  • Another great video, Justin! Thank you so much for spreading the truth. :) And, it's nice to know we can agree with Pat Robertson occasionally. ;-)

  • Right on Brandon. I'm glad that you made this video. I think that you spoke the truth.

  • Awesome video! It makes so much sense, because honestly Ive been confused about all that for awhile and never figured it out till now =]

  • Your videos have given me so many needed answers. Now the source of my greatest strength (the Bible) no longer remains the simultaneous source of my greatest "weakness". God bless you.

  • Wow, Thats so true. Thanks for your help on the subject. i learn alot from you! :)
