There is a nice little article that explains how I feel: BMW F1 Engine Comparison: V8 vs. V10 article from MWERKS No.982. These guys are leading experts in race tech. All V10 engines have a rough vibration patch between 12-14K and the V8 starts at 16K. V10+ belongs in tractors(Lamborghini)

V10s are BETTER in terms of vibration for those F1 motors because that rpm range is not experienced very long and the V10 is more balanced at the top range which is where these motors live. The V8 has significant vibration issues at everywhere above 16k, which is where you least want vibration. A V12 is completely balanced so it's even better than the V10 in this regard. V8s suck

@Shadowboost That's cool and all but there is something called "regulations" in the F1 circuit. Pound for pound in the real world WITHOUT regulations, a V8 will wipe the floor with a V10+ weight to power ratio friend ^_^ ALL of the world's fastest cars (most of them) are V8 powered (SCC). The only one on top is the 1200HP Veyron SS which is so easily attainable with a V8 and WAY beyond into the 2000HP+ range with a smooth RPM band up into the 16K. You choose, flat or live bands? With beer? ^_^

@heatfilter the V10s were far more regulated than the V8s ever were, they would be at around 1200+ hp at over 21000 rpm by now with the V10. They weight little more, but make way more power. I don't think you understand why having more cylinders is beneficial. Yes, the Veyron SS is way underpowered. The UGR Gallardo record is near 2000 WHP. In a street car. Top end power -> V10-V12 and higher. Low end torque -> V8

And, they could certainly feature this car on the show as they have shown modified cars in the past. They had a segment on the UK car scene, JDM drift cars, a super modified older GT-R, and a few other segments. Will it come on the show? Probably not but I'm hoping for a feature on the Texas Mile.

@Jsimm last time i checked UGR was from NC not TX, the Veyron is a heavy car and it only makes 1001 from a V16 with 4 turbos, a 800HP hatch would woop his ass, unlike the UGR lambos; they have it all; HP, right weight, braking, looks, and handling. And we know drag increases squared with speed. PS, I'd like to see you brake at 250 mph with little to no braking room where your reaction time is just TOO SLOW and you're 25 feet past where you were less than 1/2 a second ago. There's a reason why they use chutes... Too damn fast.
