  • the truth black and white

  • History will remember Dr Paul.

  • "Shock & Awe" = terrorism. Not US terrorism, Wall Street & London terrorism. Stop giving your money to the corporations of these terrorists. Vote- fine, protest, great, but until you identify the strength of your enemy, my enemy, our enemy, and undermine it, we will never be free and this nightmare will never end.

  • Ron Paul says MLK Day is "Hate the Whiteys Day". So he loves Dr King and hates "whiteys"?

  • James B Powell wrote the newsletters, not Ron Paul.

  • @us71 Ron Paul wrote a News Letter from 1976-1988 in 1989 he gave the news letter name and all over to Lew Rockwell and went back to Texas to practice Medicine Ron Paul is in Lake Jackson running a medical practice caring for everyone doing lots of charity and thousand miles away in Washington DC Lew Rockwell and "5-6 writters" did all the news letters they keep saying Ron Paul wrote.1976-1988 no racism"I wish i could go back in time to see how Pharoph pit the slaves against 1another" MLKjr.

  • If people that don't believe in God asking Him for miracles. Is not enough seeing in this man how powerful can his words and gestures are? Give me chills. Is God talking trough this man I'm not religious, is not only "feelings" this man have the Power of God in his Words...and we still not getting it...Man!!

  • It's time to raise up against the government.

  • I wish somenone kill bush and cheney!!!

  • When are people going to say enough war?

  • @heystupidopenthedoor when we killed every living thing

  • that leaves only the Sweet Crude Oil in the ground as to what we are fighting for ? Right ?

  • @osamasho1 Again, I would believe that MLK Jr. as many today, is protesting against the corporatism. He did not protest free market/trade. He protested against racism and discrimination in the society. As Ron Paul, Milton Friedman, Hayek and many other Libertarians try to explain: Racism/discrimination has no place in a free market society, it causes only inefficiency. Which, as no surprise, is bad news. (search up Friedman on youtube, his ideas are worth a minute)

  • awesome video! needs an update for 2012!!

  • Get Ron Paul there him and Rand take care of the rest my understanding the president has the authority to shut down departments bye bye I.R.S as we know it!

  • germaniajim2 lives in this "mad world" which is a sideways skew of our own "mad world"... have sympathy to that soul.

  • Worst "Mad World" cover ever

  • I'm a rare animal; a registered Republican who lives in New York City, in the district of Republican Representative, Bob Turner.

I'll either vote Ron Paul or Herman Cain in the primary; the other candidates are all merely "more of the same."

  • Ron Paul isn't going anywhere; he appeals to people's intellect and not to their prejudices.

  • fantastic video my freind i see we have 94 neocons voting thumbs down shame on them, keep up the good work and spreading the message DR RON PAUL all the way ,from the uk peace all

  • ron paul needs to stress that point in his debates, you dont have RIGHTS BECAUSE YOU'RE GAY, BLACK, OR WOMEN, YOU HAVE RIGHTS BECAUSE YOU'RE AN INDIVIDUAL!

  • I love Ron Paul and the Last of the Mohicans music in the background! One of my favorite soundtracks!!!

  • I am a Pakistani American and I will do anything it takes to make RON PAUL its leader!

  • @zainmakavelli same here my friend. ron paul is who we gotta get in office to end these illegal wars these murduras wars, this false idea that muslums are the ones responsable when it was our own government that caused terrorism world wide, we need ron paul.

  • @zainmakavelli There is some competition you could get rid of ;)

  • @zainmakavelli No matter what the message is out there and the idea is the most important thing. Vote Ron Paul

  • Who's cover of Mad World is that in the background? Its almost as good as Gary Jules

  • Congratulations on the greatest video I've seen to date. It made me CRY. I'm doing all I can for 2012 elections, and this is getting embedded on Write-In-RonPaul . com Thank you .. music was fantastic too!

  • google Kamikaze Earth , the end is near.

  • If we are going to judge men by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin, then let's give Ron Paul all of the credit that he deserves. He is a man of principle, and he will defend ALL Americans in order to give them full access to their freedoms and rights, including the repealing of the Patriot Act, eliminating ALL taxes, and bringing our troops out of these dubious military conflicts. God bless America and Dr. Ron Paul. May MLK's vision be realized.

  • JFK spoke ... and was killed. Martin Luther King spoke ... and was killed. Our government has used nuclear, biological and chemical agents on our Veterans (Agent Orange, Persian Gulf War, The White Coat Project, etc). Our government has killed it's own citizens (Ruby Ridge, WACO, 911, etc). Those who play God will pay God one day.

  • I think Ron Paul is the only one who has a chance against Obama and whatever independents/3rd partiers run for president. He's the only one not just reciting talking points, since it seems Johnson is out. I wouldn't compare him to MLK, who in my eyes is like a prophet, but his anti war anti empire stance in line with King's is very admirable. I might pick the anti-war Republican Paul, over the pro-war Republican Obama. Anyways we need grassroots movements to push our leaders to work for us.

  • @isteemaen Yep! Our 44th president, and the first REAL President of America in a long time; been long time comin'. ALL FOR PAUL, AND PAUL FOR ALL!

  • what was the song at the end?

  • Comment removed

  • Those 93 dislikes are those bastards who work for TSA,IRS and many other criminal institutions !

  • Sorry those 93 dislikes were a mix of KKK and Republicans who sit on McCains dick.

  • @BillyT4evr Don't forget the affirmative action, retard liberals.

  • We need a REVOLUTION

  • SPREAD THIS VIDEO SPREAD THIS VIDEO SPREAD THIS VIDEO

This is one that will change people's mindsets and get him in office. GOD DAMMIT PEOPLE SPREAD THIS VIDEO

  • Martin Luther King was a Republican & spoke out against the war in Vietnam. He even met with President Johnson to raise awareness. Bring the troops home to protect American soil and help to rebuild our decaying infrastructure. Stop borrowing money from China, spending billions in tax dollars to invade & brutally occupy sovereign nations in the middle east, forcing them to accept Democracy as a form of government. Time to take care of America first, spend that money to create new jobs. RON PAUL!

  • I don't care what color you are... Ron Paul is the best candidate for the PEOPLE!

  • @GetOutMyBidness We gotta take the power back!

  • @DangerBurleyfield yeap. Rage Against the Machine " band PUT IT BEST hehe of course the radio is damn near dead so it's now " lights out...guerilla internet...' upload that SHIT UP!! lol

  • Martin Luther King was a registered Republican, just like Ron Paul. They both promote equality and peace in America.

  • 93 people hate FREEDOM! DON'T TREAD, BRO!

    RON PAUL 2012!!!!!!!!!

  • Not bad but this would be more persuasive if in the statement above the facts were straight concerning Israel. The Israeli Lobby is effective becuase it is intelligent and well organized, they use the tools provided that all Americans could and should use but don't.Israel is only a small piece of the puzzle the money-changers use yet again as a diversionary tactic. They don't care about Jews anymore than they care about anyone else.Very rarely if ever do I see anyone eating matzah with chopsticks.

  • We are all in this together. As Americans and as individuals. We have a chance here to really change the course of American history. We have a chance to open the flood gates of freedom and liberty if we all act, if we all come together to take back from a subversively tyrannical government.

    It's our time.

  • At this time I pray God will see us through. The time is at hand. I got your back. Love you guys.

  • I fail to see anything the commuinst and the freedom fighter have in common. MLK was nothing but a loudmouth who thought he and anyone who had dark skin was owed something for something he never lived. MLK is a pile of shit. Ron Paul is the only chance for real freedom. When I judge people by the content of their character I find nothing but the scum. Giving someone something based on the fact of their skin is racist by default. Wake up liberals. When the money is gone they will come for you.

  • President Bush Spoke so well when he addressed the american people the day on 9/11, he must have practiced for weeks

  • @k9forkids

Yeah, he was probably chatting with Bin Laden over the phone before the attacks came. It was an inside job, everyone knows that. Why assume a terrorist act had taken place when it's so much easier to appeal to conspiracy.

  • Ron Paul saw it before time-A person with a vision!

I'm surprise that there is out-there still some-one that make sence!

Jews run this this country and change is commplitly diffrent meaning!

Do you think-Aipac-Adl OSEH & and all other E. Europians & Italia-Russians Jews-Mafia-ELITE give a rats who people vote for (they don't even buther to counts the vots)-(from some reason E. Europe wanted to see America & American people on the negative side)!

  • Listen to the voices of Liberty! MLK was a visionary, and I'm quite certain that if he were alive today, he'd give support to Ron Paul--as he is also a visionary. Ignore the media racial division extreme machine! We are Americans of many races. The time has come to stand united as countrymen, no matter what race you are.

  • @katnap72 Black or white, left or right, muslim, Christian or atheist..... it is time for us all to put that aside and unite as 1 and stand up against the evil elite who's destroying our world by creating a self centered egocentric world government where we all will be slaves. I agree with you; let's start listening to THE VOICES OF FREEDOM!!!! First it was a war on drugs, then a war on terror while in the end it is a war against US, THE PEOPLE!!!! Wake up people, start kicking ass!!!!

  • YOU CANT POSSIBLY BE COMPARING THIS MAN TO ONE OF THE GREATS! WHAT HAS PAUL DONE THAT CAN EVEN REACH MLK JRS TOES! NOTHING!

  • @torres0243 The point is ron paul is more like MLK then obama aka (bush 3rd term) is. Obama is a war monger, ron paul is not, end of story. Oh and to make it more sweeter, he wants to abolish the federal reserve. And this is coming from a 30yo black male from philly who voted for and donated money to barry obama. So f- bush and f- obama, RON PAUL 2012 BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • VOTE FOR RON PAUL 2012!!THIS IS NOT A QUESTION OF RACE.IT IS A STRUGGLE TO HAVE A TRUE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WHO WILL BRING PEACE AND CHANGE.YOUR FREEDOM IS AT STAKE.THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS DECLARED WAR ON YOU.DO WANT YOUR FREEDOM?OR WILL YOU DIE SILENTLY IN THE NIGHT?

  • Joe the plumber gains a few liberties every few 100 years. So I guess at this rate by the time the planet earth enters its old age maybe we will have want some refer to has social justice. Does anyone else see our history this way? I mean the statue of Liberty was meant to remind the U.S that they had won Liberties not real freedom. After all its not called the statue of freedom!

  • Wouldn't it be great if we LOSE the Iraq War? No more nation building over there, provoking radicals, and having a sore relation with the Midde East.

  • Ron Paul, a true American Hero, and protector of Mother Earth.

No Man can keep one down who is not of afraid to meet his Maker.

    Ron Paul is that man.

Obama sleeps comfortably while innocent civilians die all around the World due to his inactions, and failed promises.

Obama has been brainwashed, who's to say Ron Paul won't go down the same route.

JFK was an American messiah who departed this World knowing he would be killed. Who here would speak truth if it meant their lives would be ended?

  • this video gets me teary-eyed every time. truly inspiring!

  • anti Ron Paul people are the most ignorant I ever heard!

  • Best. Video. On. YouTube.

  • Prodigy Of Mobb Deep SUPPORTS Ron Paul

  • It's great to see so many blacks making youtube videos endorsing Ron Paul. There are tons of them. I thought it was hilarious that a rap artist would support Ron Paul over Obama. He broke the media's concluded stereotype, which is great. He is obviously a man of principle an intelligence, as he pointed out to a bewildered DJ that he won't vote for a man based on skin color, but on their protection of freedom

  • GREAT COMPLIATION!!

  • @ZionIDF yes and the i guess u believe the holocaust never happened either. LOL

  • @baezalejandro I know it happened that's why I am against this Nazi Ron Paul

  • @ZionIDF lol.... yeah because the overwhelming video and audio evidence of Ron Paul being a racist is out there!

    LOL whatever you say.

  • @ZionIDF Founded by which party exactly?

Racism is the absolute dead last tactic of a liberal losing a debate. The fact that you shoot it out from square one says a lot about your ability to debate, and your grasp on current issues

  • @xmadcowx908 Any politician who speaks against Israel is a racist KKK Jew Hater. For sure, the truth will come out as his power grows.

  • @ZionIDF Well done sir, "racist KKK Jew Hater" is a phrase that would make Keith Olbermann jealous he never got to use on air.

And nobody is anti-Israel, he's just not for spending billions of dollars to prop up Israel. There's a difference between having a sensible foreign policy, and being a "racist KKK Jew Hater". Use your brain before you speak

  • nice vid, down with the NWO these people need hanging

  • At 5:15 was the moment in 2007 that my jaw dropped, I fell out of my chair, and I became a loyal follower to this day.

  • obama is a mistake ron paul should have 1

  • LOVE <3

  • I can't believe how much the world has changed since I was a child. Now we need some change for the BETTER. Please vote for Ron Paul in 2012.

  • @Destroyer220

It hasn't really changed, things are just more in the open now.

  • that's one of the best videos i've seen.

  • By the way, great job with the video. Mad World and the LotM soundtrack fit well

  • that's one of the best videos i've seen.

  • How do you know Paul is a racist or is it what he said in a newspaper 15 years ago about blacks. let me tell you Ron paul is not a racist and he was not trying to be racist. but obama is. obama does not like whites and there is proof of that. me i dont like racism but the only way to get rid of racism is to ignore it. And come 2012 Ron Paul May be out Next President because its not looking for obama.

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON

+ Ron Paul didn't even WRITE the articles in those newsletters - he didn't even proof them most of the time!

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON It is clear that you are racist and anti-black.

The province of the racist is to declare himself not racist and then blame the people he supposedly doesn't hate or loathe.

Not is Ron Paul racist but his son Rand is as well.

Anyone who is against the civil right movement like Rand is simply a racist.Period. End of discussion.

  • @MultiSmartass1. Its clear you are a fucking jackass. How the fuck can you call me racist when you dont even know me. All i can say is that i get really pissed when i hear my friends say nigger or anything bad about other races. Im not racist nor anti-black. So until you meet me and you hear me say racict things, dont call me racist because im Not. Ron Paul is not racist and if he was i dont think blacks would want him to run for pres. in the 2012 elections.

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON Stop lying. I don't need to know you to say the truth.

By the way, try learning to spell. The word is racist not "racict."

  • @MultiSmartass1 Sorry, but you are just plain wrong. Ron Paul is not a racist. Rand Paul is not a racist either. A private business has the right to serve whoever they want. It is private property. Back then, businesses were forced to be racist as segregation was the law. Any business that wants to maximize profit is not going to turn away a paying customer because they are black. And if they do, then another business will gladly take their money.

  • @ytmikelol Both Rand and Ron made their views known.

They can try to wiggle out of it all they want but their words and views are clear enough.

Now, Rand Paul can spread his pro-segregation garbage in the Senate-he won't be alone as most Republicans feel the same way anyway.

  • @MultiSmartass1 Just to clarify, What " pro-segregation garbage" are you referring to? Not much less intelligent than the people who disagree with me are rascist. VOTE FOR RON PAUL 2012

  • @dbill27 Again, the word is racist not rascist.

Seriously, if you are indicative of the type of uneducated, trailer park trash supporting Paul,he hasn't got a chance in hell in 2012.

  • @MultiSmartass1 You disgust me with your ignorant rhetoric.

  • @gypsylips1950 Well, you're disgusting as a person and I don't deal in rhetoric just facts.

You're just another trailer park resident offended by the truth.

  • @MultiSmartass1 "Again, the word is racist not rascist.

Seriously, if you are indicative of the type of uneducated, trailer park trash supporting Paul,he hasn't got a chance in hell in 2012."

"You're just another trailer park resident offended by the truth."

Trailer park resident? Excuse me? I live in a white middle class neighborhood and I go to college. You're blatantly a racist, and God sees the filthy things you do and say.

    Truth? What is truth fool?

  • @gypsylips1950 Anyone is prefaces his sentence "you're a racist" with "I live in a white middle class neighborhood" is a typical segregationist racist piece of trash.

The only blatant racist is you.

What college do you go to? Beauty college? LOL

The very fact you acted in a defensive manner shows you are a racist.

I have nothing more to say to you because if you support Ron Paul then you are an anti-black racist.

  • @MultiSmartass1 Ahahaha, I love being called a racist when I gave no indication of hate against any race.

You were the one making racist remarks with your 'redneck trailer park' talk.

My best friend, who's family migrated from Haiti, died of a brain aneursym about 8 months ago. Go fuck yourself idiot. Good luck with the race baiting moron.

  • @gypsylips1950 That textbook racist line #1: I have friends of different races so iam not racist.

Hate to break it to you but you can be racist and have friends who aren't white.

One doesn't rule out the other.

Best Friend from Haiti? What is this DRIVING MISS DAISY 2?

Talking casually with someone who cleans your house does not constitute friendship.LOL

  • @MultiSmartass1 Truth is that Ron Paul is one of the last politicians defending the constitution. Do you have a problem with the constitution and liberty?

You just make yourself look like an ass by constantly attacking my race, typical of nanny state pro entitlement race baiting minorities.

  • @gypsylips1950 If you have responded to someone once, that isn't defined as "constantly" so I haven't constantly done anything to you. Other than state the truth about you once.

I never mentioned race. I just called you a "trailer park resident"-that's a class and economic putdown.

It is clear you are a racist. Your average racist conservative type always use the term "race baiter."

Conservatives has always been anti-black like Ron and Rand Paul. Most were against the Civil Right Movement.

  • @WedidLandONtheMOON fuck off racist honky, what do you think about his son rand I wonder.

  • @MultiSmartass1 : Yeah I don't like Rand but just because the son is a racist neocon doesn't mean Ron needs to blamed.

  • @ABCED2277 Ron has to be blamed for what he said.

I don't blame him for his son who is a klansman in his own right.

  • @MultiSmartass1 Sure, you can blame Ron for one line someone else wrote for him, but make sure you blame Clinton for selling our military secrets, blame Bush for war crimes, and blame Obama for authorizing the assassination of a US citizen.

  • @ABCED2277 Rand is not rascist!

  • Ron Paul has nothing to do with MLK.

Paul is a racist and comparing him with MLK is illogical and insulting.

His son Rand, a Senator elect unfortunately, is even more of a racist than his old man.

He is known for essentially being against the Civil Rights movement at least on argumentative and rhetorical terms.

While Paul has some fine views on the war and the Federal Reserve, his agenda is not a realistic one.

  • @MultiSmartass1 Actually, you are incorrect. Rand Paul was trying to make a point about equality and discrimination. He stated that by selectively choosing people based on their race or skin color is another form of racism. Employers should workers choose based on merit and qualification, not race. I am Latino and it would be unfair for a company to hire a less qualified man or woman simply because they are African American if I were more qualified.

  • @hectorsalina Actually, Iam correct. Rand comments were about the Civil Rights Movement not about Affirmative Action or job status unto themselves.

The idea of merit and qualification as the only criteria for choosing exists in a dream world and not in the real world. There are many reasons why people get jobs-merit and qualififcation are not always among them.

Of course, you don't know anything about racism and discrimination why is why you make unrealistic statements like that.

  • Just ot let the message continue ! comment ! Wake Up America PLEASE !

  • Everyone who is planning to vote for Ron Paul and believe in his policies and Pro-Constitution should make his name known at the end of each one's coment.

Let people know his name and that their is still Real Hope.

-Ron Paul 2012 for Presidential candidate

  • Hey Arcticmint do your research and you'll understand that the secret government gustapo (CIA) has been in the middle east for years provoking these people. Ron paul advocates that the CIA's foreign policy is unamerican and dangerous and they even admit to blow back from their messing around. Yet those truths have never been revealed by the so called "folks" who take care of our "freedom". They took advantage of regular peoples good nature, lie to the public and kill to cover up mistakes.

  • This is pure propaganda. It appeals to emotions and does not reveal the facts.

  • People are not protesting because technology and media had successfully distracted the population, make them think everything is alright, make them think there's always a 'good' reason, a perfect reason, for a country as 'great' as U.S. to deny human rights. We appreciate the convenience of talk show and internet gossip, and mistakenly believed that convenience = truth, the same way we're tricked to think McDonald is healthy simple because it has lettuce.

  • GREAT VIDEO.

    Ron Paul is my hero.

  • :*-(

  • Great video!!

  • Comment removed

  • This video deserves way more views.

  • @SolidSnake99x What??!?! i COULDNT HEAR YOU OVER THE AWESOMENESS AND TRUTH OF THIS SPEECH!!

  • In the terrific Australian film, "Breaker Morant," (a true story), two individual lives are sacrificed so that an Empire doesn't have to face itself and its actions. On their walk to sit down and be executed, the protagonist, 'Breaker' Morant says to his friend and fellow soldier who will be executed with him, "Well, this is what comes of Empire building."

Over and over and over, until finally the Empire collapses of its own stinky weight.

God save the USA--vote third party (Paul or Nader

  • Come on Ron....You can do it...I will vote for you.

  • They would never let the kinds of Dr. King, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich to rise up and lead us from the front, they won't because the majority of the people won't let that happen, most of us are brain dead (I wish our brains were washed from filth) but yes we are brain dead, don't see it happening in my life time, makes me sad of living the life of a slave under these ruthless pharaohs :(

  • american libertarianism is a travesty. libertarianism should convey the idea of freedom from govt and freedom from any kind of authority. american libertarianism is way too much centered on economic power. so it contradicts itself.we want a society of love, respect, compassion.leave money out of it. anarcho-socialism is what i prefer, not anarcho capitalism. a place where renting yourself for money (working for a boss) should be seen as degrading and humiliating.

  • @alhabbo

You take away Capitalism, you take away freedom.

Read the Wealth of Nations, and learn the ways of the world.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

Corporations aren't individuals, thus don't deserve the same freedoms.

  • @tribs10

Maybe not the same freedoms as an individual, but they do need certain rights, e.g. limited liability, the right to own property. This is all to protect the individuals who either start the business or who hold shares.

What corporations don't deserve, is the right to lobby, or revolving doors in and out of government. The government can grant it's favourite corporations extra rights, that the free market wouldn't normally allow. This disrupts the system, causes market corrections.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

I think your perspective assumes capitalism is the only system. It's like the you can have Mcdonalds or Burger King, Democrat or Republican, but there's more than the options provided.

  • @tribs10

Well it's the only system that is born from individual liberty and achievement. It is most directly related to human nature.

What other realistic system could possibly exist?

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

It's the system that most mirrors the understanding of human nature that is promulgated by institutions of education and media most specifically in the Western World. This understanding is of course the THEORY of survival of the fittest. Somehow this theory has hardened into the illusion of a concrete fact. How this happened I'll never understand, just like how I'll never understand why the hollow principle of materiality runs rampant throughout our society.

  • @tribs10

No not all. Capitalism is as old as the first civilization. People have been behaving in capitalistic fashion for as long as there has been recorded history. It's only pure ignorance to think that the ancient Romans or Chinese did not follow Capitalism. Even every barter economy is fulfilling capitalism at it's most primitive roots. The education system (something libertarians want to dissolve anyway), or the media have nothing to do with it.

  • @tribs10

You also seem to be confused about the roots of Capitalism. capitalism is not based on competition. Capitalism is based on the individuals free choice in exchanging what one believes to be of value for something someone else sees to be of value. Competition arises when many free individuals are wishing to exchange the same commodities, naturally then competition arises.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

Smith was also against any entrepreneurs or groups with political influence to politically "stack the deck" in their favor. Do we see these entrepreneurs and groups in politics that the main proponent of capitalism, Adam Smith, wholly opposed? Undoubtedly we do: special interest groups, international bankers, Donald Rumsfeld's poisonous yet no calorie aspartame, corporate conglomerations (Viacom, Time Warner, Disney, and a few others), the Bilderberg Group, etc etc etc...

  • @tribs10

We are both coming from position of ignorance when it comes to each others beliefs. I'm going to reply as quickly and concisely as I can, I have very little time on my hands at the moment. Yes, groups of stacked organizations, using political power to falsely distort the market do exist. Then again, is this a result of free market capitalism? Or is it a result of Corporatism and an over extended government intervention?Adam Smith didn't propose capitalism, it was already in existence.

  • And as to your question, a system based on collaboration and cooperation might be slightly more effective and evolved than a system based on competition.

  • @tribs10

Capitalism is in essence, nothing more than the right of every individual to value any commodity according to their will. After this fact is recognized, then all things follow, trade, a monetary system, a banking system etc.

If you remove a persons ownership you remove their individuality. It seems to me that you have been reading too much literature from that Utopian architect Jacque Fresco. Rather, to get a real understand of what Capitalism is, read the Wealth of Nations, and learn.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

I most definitely read the wealth of nations. "Capitalism is nothing more than the right of every individual to value any commodity according to their will." Okay, we'll start with that statement. Do you really think the individual instills value in commodities in our globalized age? In an age of materialistic education, mass media, and pop culture, you don't think any of those facets of society have an impact on one's perception of value in various possessions?

  • @tribs10 I'm impressed that you have read it, few people have! Yes I do believe so, outside influences obviously have a large effect on our perceptions of value, but the choice still resides with the individual. As opposed to a Socialist economy, where the values of commodities and even services (unbelievably enough!) are determined by a governmental cabal. This is reflected in the supply Demand curve ratio taught in foundation economics.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

Okay, I feel like I'm talking to Margarat Thatcher and the incessant TINA (there is no other option) argument. It's okay, you've learned your ideas from a traditional education, right? All you've said is a regurgitation of other people's ideas that have been made prominent for one reason or another. From what you've said so far, I don't feel like any of your knowledge on this subject has come through the creative freedom of one courageous enough to think for oneself.

  • So you think the establishment of a private federal bank that has the power to artificially inflate and deflate the economy and charge us insurance on the money we're supposedly "borrowing" from the Federal Reserve??? You don't think the elite with control of a good to exploit have the power to control the market through the process of monopolization, aka buying all the small family businesses and products.

  • @tribs10

I don't think that at all, I wouldn't be much of a libertarian if I supported the FED now would I? Once again, the FED is not a result of free Market Capitalism, it is a false construct created by Congress. It is a distortion. I agree, the system isn't perfect, nor is it Free Market Capitalism either. Monopolies are a threat, but don't really occur due to people naturally competing with each other. That is, of course, without lobbies in government.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

Do you really believe that the laborers crafting commodities--nowadays the crafters are mostly machines--have any say in the price of those commodities? Or is it, once again in the hands of the elite?

Some benefits mentioned in the wealth of nations: individuals specialize in specific tasks, technological evolution (the planet loves this!), time efficiency (another factor that mostly benefits the elite while mechanizing blue-collar workers, continued...

  • @tribs10 Well I don't much think that labourers ever had a true say in the price of what they sell, seeing as (if they want to be profitable) they would have to set the price at a level individuals would buy it at. Once again supply/demand functions show this. As people's wants change, so will the market, this can be seen by a shift towards sustainable business ( which is what I'm studying actually) and vegan friendly products.

  • "A monopoly granted either to an individual or to a trading company has the same effect as a secret in trade or manufactures. The monopolists, by keeping the market constantly understocked, by never fully supplying the effectual demand, sell their commodities much above the natural price, and raise their emoluments, whether they consist in wages or profit, greatly above their natural rate."

That's directly from the Wealth of Nations on monopolies.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

In our current state, nearly all companies have been monopolized and the real profits are found atop the hierarchical pyramid of our corporate globe, of modern feudalism. When I say atop the hierarchical pyramid, I of course mean CEOs and those officers just below CEOs in rank. These are the individuals who do little to nothing for the actual value and quality of their products, but do excessive amounts in the realms of monopolization, market control, corrupt advertising...

  • @tribs10

Firstly, our current state was reached through a Free Market, I'm sure that you can agree? This pyramid doesn't exactly exist, there is still competition, and there always will be - if the market is left free. A great example would be the weakening of the monopolistic giant Microsoft, consumer preference is shifting ( to Mac, Linux, what have you) and this megalith, despite all of it's "corrupt advertising" is going to have to reflect that change.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

It solely seems like you collaborate formerly found ideas instead of discovering them as the living entities they are. Most people--particularly those with a traditional western education--study the cemented territory dogmatically asserted as fact without exploring undiscovered dimensions of reality through simple questions and realizations.

May the source bless your search with love, wisdom, peace, and serenity.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

So it seems like the competition amongst entrepreneurs and laborers (which leads to monopolization and outsourcing) is really more a factor than "the right of every individual to value any commodity according to their will." I never read that kind of a statement in the wealth of nations. I think the power of a corporation to "value any commodity" is much greater than that of your common "individual" and "their will" (ironically, that perspective seems most Utopian).

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

I haven't read any of "that Utopian architect" Jacque Fresco, I try to think for myself with simplicity rather than reading, hearing, or seeing what to think in books, film, tv, or other sources outside the subjective experience of life. You do seem to be firmly cemented in your assertion of capitalism as the best model, which of course would be the easiest approach since we're born into the system.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

It makes sense to mirror the currently constructed system; as one grows up in the heart of our western, industrial, materialistic, capitalist, egocentric society, he or she naturally--artificially--perceives only the program of what seemingly is, instead of various potentials as anything, even reality, can come in any potential form: egalitarian, oligarchical, etc.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

In other words, after only experiencing one frequency of manifested potential for a prolonged period of time one begins to replicate this frequency, his environment, this reality, within his or her internal reality. After this point, one will be shackled to the ideas and emotions that maintain this frequency, this manifestation of potential, this reality of capitalism, materialism, science as the dogmatic God, and reason as the ultimate judge.

    With blessings and love

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

As for the wages of labor, here's another quote from the Wealth of Nations on how entrepreneurs can collaborate to further lower costs of labor, market prices, politics, and whatever else have you:

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

Masters, too, sometimes enter into particular combinations to sink the wages of labour even below this rate. These are always conducted with the utmost silence and secrecy till the moment of execution; and when the workmen yield, as they sometimes do without resistance, though severely felt by them, they are never heard of by other people"

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

Adam Smith, although a historic proponent of capitalism, also pointed out this large flaw: in countries with more revenue than labor wages will rise, so entrepreneurs outsource to where there's less revenue and more labor thus lower wages. Simple logic there. How has this worked out for us? Well corporations head to pollution and humanitarian havens--that is, they build factories to produce their goods in a country with very little labor rights and pollution regulation.

  • @Romeowasbleeding1

Going to a country that won't closely regulate how workers are treated and how toxic waste is disposed of allows entrepreneurs to gain more profits by paying lower wages, providing lesser work environments, and gaining the ability to dump pollution in a local river instead of having to pay large amounts to have it properly stowed to the environments best liking.
