  • Can you give me specific info on the clay you guys are using? Please :)

  • @2DayWithPatrickJ The Makeup Design for Film & Television program uses mostly Chavant clay, and sometimes Roma.

  • some of those are really nice

  • I think Giselle Smart's is the coolest, but every mask was great. I have whatched this like 5-7 times and I still thinks it's cool.

  • The tree/nature mask was by far my favourite! It really stood out from the rest!

  • I never understood why you didn't just put pipes up the noses of the people to ensure the substance wouldn't go into their nose or block their breathing

  • i think it would cuz the mask 1 look different bcuz the pipes would cause wrinkles in the mask or it would just take more time or sumthing im not real sure.

  • That sounds kinda uncomfortable to me haha

  • I thought this as well, but I found out that with pipes/straws in the nose, a slight bump can cause huge nose bleeds and other injuries. It's not difficult at all to keep the molding substance form blocking the nose. the person being cast can take the molding off at anytime if they cannot breathe. Yes it destroys the mold, but safety is always first.

  • I really like the bird. Super cool.

  • love Erika Lim's the most

but all of them were great

  • I loved it!

  • wow you ppl are amazing!!!!

  • expectacular work!

  • That is so cool!!

  • Matt Carpenter's is awesome :D

  • Cool! Big work for nice results.

all I can think is it going "cheese"

  • woah u need to be able 2 do alot to get into this school....

  • matt carpenter's zombie totally rocks (= more such vids please ^ ^

  • We are planning on uploading regular examples of student work from our Makeup Design program from here on in. The variety and quality of work is amazing.

  • what is the point of putting latex all over the students' heads? By adding the clay and shapes on the outside of the mold, doesn't it make the "head molding" pointless since it won't be the shape of their faces anyway, therefore impossible to wear? why not just have a standardized plastic head to add clay on right at the beginning?...... or maybe i'm just not catching something very obvious.. hmm... please do explain =)

  • The pinkish purple junk we put on our heads is a casting material to catch the details and shapes of our heads. Then, after a few steps I'm skipping, we pour plaster into the negative mold to make a cast of our heads which we then sculpt onto. The finished product isn't meant to be the shape of our faces, our faces are simply meant to be able to fit inside :) so we can wear a different face. We make the head cast to learn the process for future reference. :) I hope that helped!

  • ow, that's a good news, thank you so much ^__^

  • That is so cool! I want one of those masks!

  • i impressed mostly by the "three/forest man"s mask, but all of them are in very high quality.

  • Awesome.. yet creepy... but you are all so talented!

  • indeed..wow

  • seems like soo much fun

  • The bird one was the most realistic, I guess I'm not really impressed with the zombies because everyone makes zombies. The tree thing was cool too.

  • Looks like so much fun... I wanna make one!

  • why is that all the masks are like zombies and aliens and all those weird stuffs lol

  • That's awesome!!!

  • What would be nice is if you give us the products used to make these mask and where to buy them

Also i have never gotten a reply from anyone at VFS and i have been watching for sometime with great interest

Maybe the students should show interest

In us who watch this stuff?

  • The one by Matt Carpenter was the best. You can totally see that in a film looking really realistic!

Wonder how long do the models sit with that stuff on their face. It actually looks like fun. I'd love to sit in for these guys just for fun! :P

  • I don't know, they were wearing gas masks while mixing the stuff, and I saw the hazard warning in the container of latex.

  • thats soo cool
