They should've called this version Green Beret, after original arcade version from Japan, it stays much more true to that version than the NES version.

I was lucky enough to be at just the right age when this came out at the arcade. It came out right around the time I was in grade 10 - 1986. What a GREAT game..especially for that time. I was the first in my city arcade to beat the game and we had a highschool of 3000 kids. This was MY game! I don't know about this version but on arcade when you won you started over..only really hard and I could get to the very end except never rescue them a second time. Great playing dude..good memories!

the xbox version remasters the game and give it realistic backgronds and pyrotechnics

was this for the arcade cuz ive only played the nes version, but this one looks pretty much the same except with better graphics

This one is an updated port of the arcade version, which was more difficult and had more enemies, as well as the flamethrower, but no pistol and invincibility star. The Rush n' Attack you see here is the Xbox Live Arcade update.

Anyway, very good playthrough. It's a tough enough game with weapon usage.

Thank god for a video on this, I'm so sick of people showing ones where they go "HOLY CRAP I DID IT WITHOUT LOSING ANY LIVES" and turn around and use every special weapon they come across, while I'm trying to get my first win in this game via knife master. This vid also taught me the jump trick on those jumping enemies, I always just lured them back and hit them when they landed.
