  • Fuck this is amazing!

  • "How Do You" has piano.

  • A lovely song. I wish we could disable comments so we don't have to read idle chitter-chatter.

    Please, no more C***play comments.

Disliking Selway's percussion? You'd better not listen to any more Radiohead albums, because they all feature Selway. Disliking their politics? They've always been political. What do you think The National Anthem or Electioneering were about?

  • I heard the new version of Staircase and Hitler is right.

    TOO MUCH PITTER PATTER BULLSHIT.

I hope they don't ruin this song as well.

    Radiohead ruined Staircase.

Still get to have an acoustic version. RAW but still better than the clean version.

  • @Outrjs lmao. Stairway sounds just fine to me. It's not weak like the TKoL tracks. And most likley they'll have "PITTER PATTER BULLSHIT WAAAAH" on The Daily Mail, so might as well cry in your bitch corner now.

  • @FlyBird

I appreciate your concern. I agree with you. It is so whiny. I'm glad you see it the way I do.

  • this is going to be performed along with Staircase at the FTB on July 1st

  • This is a new song yet it's not a new Thom Yorke song and is not on the king of limbs ablum either. hmmm so and wait it's called the daily mail. Radiohead is releasing this whole newspaper album. How ironic, don't you think. I'm thinking they will release this song on tuesday or later as TKOL2

  • the queen of diamonds

  • Song of TKOL2

  • Mmmmmmm

I have a piano @ home, but it doesn't sound like Coldplay, is there something wrong with my piano??

"Yes, because Coldplay were the first band to ever play piano" looool ^^

  • What is he saying? Someone please write!!

  • I love them to death, but I get so disappointed when thom makes things so political

  • @LeWeYfilms I can agree that it can be alienating when a band you love seems to come out against something you believe in, but they have their right to stand up for their own beliefs. And I think we can all be open minded and "liberal" enough to accept them for that :)

  • "no regard for human life"

  • If any band inspires great music, I don't care who it is. As long as it comes out. I'm of people shouting out the superiority of their favorite band over another great band. There is so much shit out there, celebrate the decent, forget the rest.

  • the first two minutes are a bit of a worry. Cause, for or against, it sounds like something coldplay would do, it REALLY does. but i like it by the end

  • His voice is amazing here ^

  • great song

reminds me of we suck young blood

  • the climax of this song is so intense and groovy i love it!

specially because of the build up! it starts of as a slow ballad and boom it explodes in ur face. the vocal delivery is amazing. so much passion, keep doing what your doing mr. yorke :D

  • lol coldplay? I love coldplay but this is nothing like coldplay come on now... Thom is very unique.

  • merry good

  • True, this song may have had a slight resemblance to Coldplay. but from a musicians stand point, dont we all influence each other? its not a matter of who sounds like who because when it comes down to it, it all revolves from the core, Blues. and Thom is just a perfect example of pure musical genius. Hes my hero.

and im kinda obsessed with his music : /

  • @ParanoidDroid26 uh... Coldplay copies Radiohead, not the other way around. Yuck.

  • @jdidnoid eh.. whatever, I love Radiohead

and i dont have a problem with coldplay. all good music

  • These new songs all remind me of HTTT.

  • @FlamangoHellfire

noway... they are pretty much are like inrainbows b sides. i have a bad feeling this new cd will be inrainbows II

  • @FlamangoHellfire

They probably remind you of HttT because he's playing a lot of it on piano, and HttT was very piano heavy.

  • The influences I hear: Neil Young, The Beatles, and Nick Drake.

  • I love it but have to agree with the coldplay comment, the chords in the second half sound very similar to god put a smile upon your face.

  • cool, he handled the intro well, never seen him do that before, a sense of humour indeed...

  • I think the word C######y should be banned from all comments relating to Radiohead-No Comparison!!!!

  • @ell1981 or fucking 'Muse'

  • @ell1981 Radiohead is great and all, but the piano in this song sounds like COLDPLAY

  • @bairswan Yes, because Coldplay were the first band to ever play piano. This sounds like early Bends stuff - a sound that Coldplay themselves *um* borrowed.

  • @bairswan don't be silly, friend

  • im a big fan of coldplay and die hard fan of radiohead but these campariosons and so called simlarities i really dont care i. i think of each band differently, and i treat each band seperetely, leaving out each other while doing coz it will lead to problems with other fans when some one says there alike coz again it might cause some drama or an akward momnet, but both are great bands its how u think of them as a group and who is better and that is all opionon my friend

  • this song is as great as you and whose army!

  • no Thom Yorke's never been a member of Coldplay he he!

  • @travroy LOL! xD

  • oh man, you're going to get so many thumbs down for that one :P No, Thom's from Radiohead who were making great music long before Coldplay came along. Coldplay's still a great band though but give Radiohead a try if you want to see where they got a lot of their influences.

  • I don't know what the big deal is, from where I'm standing this sounds like a Coldplay song. Is that a bad thing?

  • This sounds nothing like a Coldplay song. The first couple minutes, it's quiet and cool like Coldplay but the piano is far better composed than anything Coldplay has done. The song's climax shows an understanding of rhythm that Coldplay as never shown. Yorke has managed to create a song that follows the Radiohead formula of a slow build up in an original way, with new influences and sounds. Fantastic. Although he is getting a bit wordy with the lyrics.

  • well now given your handle is "ThomYorkesHead" and not ChrisMartinsBrain, are you not a fan of Coldplay? And what's to compare? I like both and see many similarities in their use of chord progressions, phrasing and elements of their composition. I also appreciate the differences and am thankful for both bands influence on western popular music.

  • Coldplay is fine. But they just don't have Radiohead's innovation or originality. They are more a product of western music than an influence on it.

  • @travroy yeah i agree it's Coldplayish - Radiohead was doing Coldplay years before Coldplay was doing Coldplay though.

  • "this song is dedicated to the..open-minded, liberal kind of people of this country."

I like this dedication a lot.

such a good say before the election.

  • I hear "I've lost command" at the end

  • Interpretation from an experienced Thom Yorke translator: WHERES THE TRUTH, WHATS THE USE BEEN HANGIN ROUND, LOST AND FOUND IM IN YOUR HEAD, ALBERT SAID FAT CHANCE, NO PLAN NOW WERE GOING, FOR HUMAN LIFE YOULL KEEP TIME, YOULL BLOW MINDS YOURE FAST TO LOSE, YOURE WIN OR LOSE YOU DROP A CUE, YOURE BACK AGAIN YOURE PRESIDENT, FOR ALL LIVES FOR ALL ABOVE, THAT FLIES IN THE SKY THE PEACE ON THE EARTH, THE FISH IN THE SEA THE VOICE COMING...
  • @Geefunker

Just had an epiphany that it's

YOU KEEP TIME, YOU NEVER RHYME

Oh and the Albert thing is kind of a shot in the dark I admit.

  • not spot on, but i agree with most of it

  • Thanks for this. Kinda got a You And Whose Army vibe which i dig. So good to have Thom STILL writing such quality after all these years. I think Lotus Flower and Give Up The Ghost are my fave new ones. Peace.

  • Even without all of the elements of radiohead, I still love this song. I'm definitely gonna listen to it. It already sounds great!

  • I would listen to Mr. Yorke shit and enjoy it.

  • @ skylineiiigtr

Can someone please thumbs up me for agreeing with this statement.

  • lol the last thing anyone needs to do is underestimate this man.

  • beautiful, as always:)

  • Ahha arguing is essentially closed minded, is it not?

Just enjoy the amazing song. i LOVE Thom's voice. ~_~ so hauntingly beautiful.

  • Kinda boring, needs more Johnny.

  • @SimVik91 no no this is perfect

  • I agree. I'm not saying I won't listen to it; I'm just saying it's rather mediocre, but still damn good.

  • first time he played it and i was there.

  • the ending is so intense, it's like an extenended version of the crazy segment in the middle of we suck young blood. thom is crazy on piano.

  • yeah you mean like a intense part that has been kept inside for the whole song, just like We suck young blood, like you said, and You and whose army =) this man is a magician,.he makes magic...

  • @BloodShed669

so what you are saying is that you are close minded and proud? Do go on.

  • @BloodShed669

Your beliefs are shown by the choice of words you use. I don't know why you are so angry, perhaps you should go give it a good wank?

  • And so are yours you pussy.

  • @BloodShed669

I love it when internet teenagers turn into internet tough guys. Please don't hurt me!

  • I don't think you realise that this song will probably change drastically over the course of the next year or so. A lot of Radiohead songs start like this & end up being some of the best songs of their generation.

Obviously you're entitled to your opinion, but it largely varies from mine, each to their own I suppose, but I think you may be proven wrong if he decides to show it to the rest of the band as one of the tracks for the new albums, they will add a new dimension to it.

  • Listen to this song a few times..., and it'll hit you like a brick.

Prob my favorite of the new songs, along with the present tense.

The song gets so intense from midway on. Love it!

  • I love Radiohead as much as the next over-obsessive person, but I feel like Thom's new work, is rather mediocre but still damn good but still rather mediocre. Not that I could do better, anyway. But, considering the RH catalog...

  • Thom Yorke is musically, just complete brilliance, the best solo artist period.Your musical beats always make me smile from the inside.

  • Wow, very beautiful. I wonder if this will be an RH song, Atoms for Peace song or just a Yorke solo piece. ?

Thom seems to be putting out A LOT of new music lately. He must be in creative overload! It's been a great year for new music considering not having an album out (by the band or solo).

  • @raydeeohedchic thats why the Radiohead album is scheduled I dunno...winter sooo yeah...ITS COMING

  • this song rules

  • wowsers. different stuff except for the major minor switches; a lot of new yorke material like recent song titles and lyrics seem unusually cliche for someone of his caliber but if anyone can make cliche an artistic lean it's tchock. And perhaps its not so much cliche as it is straightforwardness. brilliance regardless.

  • great recording too, thanks so much

  • First listen and this song rocks, very cool.

  • i love when he sings like this and did he say im pregnant

    ? lol

  • Thanks again!!!

  • Well done on having the whole song! Puts my upload to shame! Thanks for posting, anyways, cracking song!
