1. Locust are their own race, humans dont turn into them, & its been hinted & to some extent explained they hid underground untill "emergance" just after sera's energy crisis was solved due to Emulsion, & they attacked. Coincidence? no! so somthing happened...

2. maria & Tai where torchered! as stated! they arent turning into locust! so end of! :p lol...

The sires in a COG Undercover blackops R&D lab, with the Security systems design'ed to "keep people out." is where after emergance they where experimenting on creating Super soliders of some sort O.o to combat the locust numbers, but obviously as the place was abandoned & powered down im guessin it wasn't a big success. as people who have played know they aint exactly neutral to humans... ^^

& as for the vid nice chainsaw action! :p lol

If you shoot them down they'll come back to life. If you chainsaw them it will ensure their death so you can move on and not worry about them.

Sires are the most hopelessly inept enemy in any game EVER.

On my first run it was pretty scary cos you didn't know what was in there or when they were going to come out....Until i realised all you have to do is walk through the rooms holding B to win.

If you chainsaw one of them, the others will just stand there until you've finished, and you can chainsaw them one after the other.

EPIC fail! See? Cos the company is EPIC... and they made an enemy that's retarded... that wasn't funny, was it?
