you only get about 65% from the main missions all together. Also don't worry about liberty city minute because if you focus on the main missions you can do it in 15 hours easy. (Thats the whole game btw.

Hard mission - I completed it by throwing a grenade at the cars (it seems so obvious NOW, but first time I just jumped in and got shot) and then escaping on foot in Middle Park without any danger.

Easy way to beat the mission and not using any cheats is to take the heli from either a building or the 3rd island and fly it next to the museum on the lawn.

Then after blowing up the cars head for the chopper and fly away and no cars can reach you.

Sure as hell saved me a lot of hassle and ammo.
