i am not condoning riding on the other side of the road at all. But unless you've ridden the dragon personally, put your foot in your mouth. some of these corners you can see thru...you can see if traffic is coming, if it's not you can push the corner a little faster, some go a little wider, because they can see thru the corner. (i never did, as i'm not that experienced), but the faster guys can do it, and do it safely, you can see thru some corners, and up to the next corner

Your biggest worry isn't the dragon... but the buttholes ridin it.... crowded out the wazoo, decelerating turns, gravel in the road, CRAZY riders, idiots coming at you in the opposite direction that are unable to keep it in their own lane. Riders passing in blind curves.... either 2" from you or crossing the double yellow line, an occasional tractor trailer and curves sloped wrong way. This is a good time?????

i worked at tellicafe in tellico plains tn, and we got hundreds of bikers through from spring through fall taking on the dragon. sorry to hear bout all the cops, but seeing accidents in the paper everyday on the dragon, it's not a stretch to figure out why.

Dragon speed limit is 30 and on weekends there will be 2 county cops and 2 state troopers.. best time to go is mon-fri.. ..1 county cop.. state troopers is a volunteer overtime deal.. not a 100k a year.. I go there all the time.. neat experience is run it at night... the only danger is the addiction to run it faster each time .. ride like a trail bike and stay in your lane.. the rest is myth.. but.. it is the coolest 11mi... in the world.. I don't need a cager thinking it's okay to drift between lanes since he's seen all the squids doing it and passing into my lane head-on while I'm coming down the dragon on my CBR.
A true rider can handle the corner in his own lane, remember that this is still a highway, I would appreciate it if you would stay in your own lane. Being from the area I ride this road frequently and would appreciate it if you all would respect my life. I have a 2 year old and do not want him to grow up fatherless. I've ridden the dragon..... Hated it.
