I always thought the same thing as Becky....that it was ok for guys to be fat but not girls....I guess I still think it to some degree....but i know its not very healthy....I think I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'm not a size 0 and I never will be....Now I just have to convince myself that i am still pretty and worth something....low self esteem blows....
It is not true that only the parents are fat in a family when ALL of them don't eat well. Becky is WRONG: Men also don't look good when they're fat. There is a lot of pressure on women. Society expect women to look young, pretty and thin. It is not fair!!! People should not be fat for their health's sake.

For some reason, I always thought that I would marry a guy like Dan. Big, husky......instead..I married a six foot four inch thin man....who at our wedding wieghed about 185. Now? He is about 230! Its all in his tummy! Thats that good italian cookin'!!
I agree. It's a meaningless point of view. If someone can't appreciate you for who you are, fat or thin, then they have no reason to be in a relationship. I mean, would you want someone to love you for you or for your body?
I agree, except I feel like most men can do nothing else except judge you for your body. My parents have been married 35 years and still when my Mom gained 20 pounds, she told me that my Father wouldn't have sex with her anymore and had no attraction to her anymore and called her fat. It just really upsets me when I see things like that happening, but I feel like it's very common.
Sadly, I feel the same. The world has grown shallow, in some hearts. And definitely ignorant. But there's not much you can do when the world if full of people who only enjoy looks....and that's what's most sad.
And as for your mother, my apologies for her and for you for having to deal with a father who can't see beyond the skin.
