I think the video means that grown up-people are sad and like made of stone; young people are full of life and so they are a hope for the future, and in the same time, the past of that town...very interesting and very beautiful song
spot on simplyeightiesdotcom. Mind you i did a bit of cheating and looked it up in the guiness book of hit singles. It was one of the 45's I bought and what a great video. I'llhave to look through your website I'm absolutely 80s mad to the point I live eat and breath it.
Great classic 80's video!! I love this song!!! I believe it was on the "Pretty in Pink" soundtrack which was awesome. Thanks for uploading this! Peace2U, Alex
Exactly! I was going to point out all the Swatches that are in this video. I'm going to have to go through all my stuff that is stored away and see if I can find any of my 30+ Swatches.
I absolutely love this song and it was one of my favorites from the 80s. It's a shame he only had a couple of hits, Some People and Imagination, because he was really good. Also, he was very attractive!!
@leicestergirl63 - I agree, this song and Imagination were very good. Although, I do recall 2 more of his songs, "Let it Be with You" and, "Animal Magic" as being quite good and, they at least got quite a bit of airplay on American college radio stations.
If you take a couple of empty Downy softener balls and shake them in rhythm, the sound a lot like the percussion in this song. Every time I do my laundry and shake the remaining softener out of the balls after the wash, the sound makes me think of this song. haha
Thank you sooo very much for posting the extended version of this great 80s song. There has been another version on Youtube for awhile, but it is quite blurry. This HD version is crystal clear. Thanx!
god this brings back memories, and what a song, can't thank you enough.

I don't remember this one playing in Canada in the 80's, it reminds me of New Moon On Monday and I Was only Dreaming ( OMD)
