I don't know why people are arguing which manga is better. Kishimoto has said that Dragonball was a big influence on Naruto and that Goku played a major part in the creation of Naruto's personality. If it weren't for DB then Naruto would probably never have existed or turned out the way it did. Akira has helped influence many mangaka with the creation of their stories. He even motivated Tite Kubo to keep trying to get published after he was rejected for his story being to Yu Yu Hakusho-like.
