pretty cool where did u get your steering servo from and how much did it run you, ive been thinking about doing the same thing but havent thought of a good steering system yet.
I'm just gonna tell you one thing. you might want to get a faster servo or a more high torque servo because either the rx pack(it has one right) is dead or that servo is just too slow.
of what is the chain of the transmition loks like a bicycle chain but smaller can u tell me on what those r used? and really nice car u should make a body for it with fiverglass!
The chain is 25 pitch, the same stuff they use on pocketbikes and goped scooters. Theys are also used on the timing mechanism of many small 4-stroke dirt bike engines, like the honda z50.
oh.. ok thanks i saw it one day but idk where to find it i'm a circus performer i'm 17 and i have a mini bike but a really small one and i wanna make a smallr one if possible to fit on the palm of my hand and i really need this chain coz i can make it even smaller u can check my show on the bicycle act on my channel it's worth to watch specially the end : ) oh! where can i get this tiny chain?
Yeah im using a multiplex digital servo, and it looks weak in this vid because I was only using a 4-cell reciever pack. Now that Im using a 5-cell pack it works much better :)
Nice dude, nice. If the chassis consists out of only one main plate you shoul enforce it a bit... Maybe with bars going over it or something like that.
Looks really strong and well built. Are you running a solid rear axle? If you are that would make for great slides. That steering looks so simple. A guy at my school is building an RC car for yr 12 i will definatly tell him to check yours out.
Yes, it is running a solid rear axle. As long as you can keep the engine as low to the ground as possible and make the track really wide, it will handle well. If you want, you can go to the 'giant scale cars' forum on rcuniverse(dot)com and you will find the thread I have made on it named 'new homemade truck'.
great see my rc car ;) new prototipe

where did you get the gear for this... and how was it assembled
clevetbs123 7 months ago
what kind of servo system are u using?
davonizdashit 8 months ago
@davonizdashit
It uses a 1/4 scale servo for the steering, a standard servo for the throttle, a cheap AM receiver and a 5 cell battery pack.

im building one two but quick question what is the maker and model of that engine.
balak121 2 years ago
It is made by Shibaura
I'm unsure of what model it is (its old though lol)
fingalickenchicken 2 years ago
thanks but i have found that a chainsaw engine should provide enough power and already has a clutch and the gears installed in the engine.
balak121 2 years ago
@fingalickenchicken Its pretty cool what size engine is that?Definably stronger chassis then you can buy at the store.
crawlbat89 1 year ago
does it have diffs?
sorry my computer doesnt have audio
f0615388 2 years ago
nope, no diff was used on this car. It has just a plain old solid axle setup, like on a gokart.

u should put a second servo for steering.

how do u keep the chain from turning when u start it up ?
alan19861 2 years ago
The engine has an inbuilt clutch which stops that from happening. Most good quality weed eater engines have them.

phoenixfire47 2 years ago
Yes the servo is a bit weak in this video. Since moving to the 5 cell rx pack it has alot more grunt. Thankyou for your input.

Ohh ok no problem

Haha cool.
You can get it from ebay and ddm (daves discount motors)..just google 'ddm + goped' and you will find it.

oh ok thanks bro hopefully i find it do they sell the gears for it too?
JonathanRinny 2 years ago
Yes they sell the gears too.
fingalickenchicken 2 years ago
if i have a rolling chassis from a normal glow plug engine, could i run from the engine to the wheels with out no gear ratio, just 1 to 1?
cheers
anthacdc 2 years ago
maybe. acceleration might not be to fast but the wheels would turn at 8,000 or so rpm. so it would be fast as hell
WC9456 2 years ago
Loll, thats wat i through but i got my self some gears the other day so its not like 8,000 rpm at the wheels lol
anthacdc 2 years ago
You will need gears to reduce the ratio. The ratio you use will depend on the diameter of the wheels.
fingalickenchicken 2 years ago
this thing looks vicious.

what did you use to mount the rear axle with?
kudosknighterrant 2 years ago
Skateboard bearings and 3 homemade bearing mounts.

Hi.
What servo do yu have for steering?
it seems a little weak, mabye a Multiplex Rhino Digi 4 ?
It has to turn, or else it isn't fun to drive ;)
But a very nice car, and great job building it!
