The way i see it.... i am after all a metallica fan, but this version is great. Just a GREAT tribute to Phil Lynott! On this night and at this time, there was NO better guitarist than Gary Moore, and, like Eric Clapton, he has, by this time become a passable vocalist too! I don't know if this is better than the Thin Lizzy version, or, for that matter the Metallica version (although the M version is certainly DIFFERENT), but this is a truly great performance to honor a great singer in Lynott!

Some people need to keep their mouth shut and let others think they are stupid, rather than open it and remove all doubt. This song is in the neighborhood of 500 years old. Metallica did not write it. It is an old Irish ballad from a bygone era. All of the people onstage were in Thin Lizzy, except the bass player from Jethro Tull who filled in so we could listen to this concert to celebrate Phil Lynott. Also Gary Moore had a huge following in Europe, simply because he was a great guitarist!!!!!!
