  • Phil sounds like he took a sip of helium just before singing this song.

  • Good stuff but not a "Genesis crowd" it seems.

    Still: good stuff.

  • thought that was John Locke from Lost on vocals for a second there lol!

  • Comment removed

  • crowd's voices depends mostly if the crowd microfone has been set low

  • is that the emirates stadium?

  • Sounds pretty similar to how they used to sound back in the day, great performance.

  • i like disturbes version better

  • @Razzo695 genesis>disturbed=>no genesis..means no disturbed version..this is pop that is rock....

bottomline your comment is retarded here on a video with the creators of the song

  • is that an expensive concert on dvd?

  • Great song, good performance. This is a powerful song meant to be sung by a powerful voice. He just doesn't live up to to that in this performance and many other live ones.

  • @gtasasuperman01 dude this song was written in 1986 ...Live Earth was 2007 ... NOBODY'S voice stays the same for 21yrs . Take that into account when you slate Phil. Try finding Land Of Confusion live in '86 ... Invisible Touch tour and then slate that one.

  • mike rutherford is a great guitarist.

  • The reason the crowd is awful is because real fans can't afford ridiculous prices to get into the "sacred" golden circle area, only people who are there to see one artist or just so they can say they were there are able to pay such high prices. I wasn't at Live Earth but if i was i would definitely got everyone dancing within arms reach of me

  • this song just needs davids growls before the chorus

  • @RTLITBAE wtf are you talking about

  • @goodhitsofthesummer umm disturbeds lead singers name is david, his cover of this song includes a growl before the chorous, thats what im talking about, ROFL

  • Crowd suks man i sitting in my room dreaming that genesis will come in serbia i would sing every song in first road :(

  • it sound like they're squishing his balls

  • Genesis Original = AWESOME

    Disturbed Cover = BLOODY BADASS

Alcazar Rip Off = ABSOLUTELY SHIT PATHETIC

  • @crematedmemoir And In Flames verison sucked too

  • @keh678

    nah, in flames' was decent

  • In my opinion the version of Disturbed is much better !

  • @lmlSeblml You must be kidding me dude! I am listening to metal and i like disturbed! their cover is good.... but not like this... ! this is pure art!

  • @SpedeCO2 and @Whalekiller4life disturbed version is much better :|

  • Uh, live version wasnt anyway near as good as the normal version

  • Genesis sounding tighter than an Italian waiter's trousers there. Tremendous.

  • @wolfstarheart That's probably because they're all about 60 odd in this concert, they're probably bored of this. And the Disturbed version isn't screamo.

  • When did they do this concert? I know this is genesis but it doesnt sound like them, they are to slow and off slightly, theres no heart in it. They could have done much better and they have done better! Disturbed reuined the song they made it to screamo.

  • @wolfstarheart

    Disturbed version rules.

Original version its good, but metal makes you feel powerfull when you listen it.

    So, welcome to 21th century!!

  • @wolfstarheart wrong he still has the shine in his eyes

  • Who the fuck cares disturbed? Its a cover! Nothing invented, only copied notes!

    Real talent is Genesis.

  • @SpedeCO2 I heard the disturbed cover. man they suck

  • @Whalekiller4life Fuck You

  • @halo1173 Wow you suck to? Shows the mentality of one the listens to disturberd..

  • @Whalekiller4life Alright Whalekiller.... calm down.

  • was it just me or was that drummer pretty good?

  • @Hiplikebrando Pretty hard to step into the space left by Collins though

  • I really like this song but I have to admit that Disturbed's version gave it a hell of much more strength :)

  • Fuck this audience. They should go to Argentina, that's an audience.

  • There's too many men... To many people... Making too little mosh pits!

  • The disturbed version is actually different than this. They didn't just copy it.

  • @alexfoster14 HAHA! xD Wow, now that you mention it, neither did I! But hell, looks like he has a back-up profession. xD

  • Didn't know Nicholas Cage was the guitarist in Genesis!

  • Phil looks like he has no teeth when he sings...Still, it's a great performance. He is one of the greatest singers ever. Very unique voice

  • Just me taht always like the originalls beter then the remakes, like this one original, better then disturbed (you say disturbed who?) Thumb up if you agree and think the tracks should all belong to the original bands!!

  • creo que no soy el unico que piensa

que aqui Phill se parece a Terry O'Quinn

    de Lost

  • Disturbed is better

  • @Dementeddizzy79 disturbed copied genesis they are cheaters genesis is better

  • @whenrussiansattack AKA Covering a song

  • DIsturbed's cover owns this one :P

And Bulelt for My Valentines cover of crazy train owns Ozie Ozbournes :P

  • @saramark00 bullshit bullet for my valentine are fuckin cocksmokers and there crazy train sucks

  • boring crowd almost like playing in an empty park.

  • no matter disturbed or genesis sings the song..,this song was awsome...i like this version and the rock version sing by disturbed..!

  • Damn! phils voice sounds great here, almost like way back.. Look at 4.35 people, when he sings "stand up"... thats the voice power he had in 85.. came back all of the sudden!

also i read about these disturbed guys for the 1st time. I looked for some performances of them.. Their music is really a pile of shit that fits todays unsecure youth.

  • Damn! phils voice sounds great here, almost like way back..

also i read about these disturbed guys for the 1st time. I looked for some performances of them.. Their music is really a pile of shit that fits todays unsecure youth.

  • Damn what a crap crowd.. geez you see Genesis and youre there like: Hmm .. yeah.. ok.. lets go play a game on my mobile.. lol wtf.. Move?!

  • Don't argue unless you know the facts. With all this technology at our fingertips, I would think most of You would do some research. This is a Genesis song, Not Distubed, Not Ike & Tina, Not Flock of seagulls. Respect the SoUrce!!! It's true we ARE in a land of Confusion...Starting right here ;)

  • @EStreetRoller **HIGH FIVE** Preach it, babe!! Rest assured THIS child of the 80's knows who originated this song!

  • The crowd looks CoNFUsED! :)

  • Such a great song ... & a cool live performance. When I hear these lyrics I can't help but think of the US Government.

  • i think the drummer should get a bigger set, it looks kinda weird :P

    great song!

  • @crematedmemoir This was recorded at The Live Earth Concert at Wembley Stadium on Sat. 07/07/07. Chester Thompson played a scaled-down drum kit here. That evening, I saw the band play a full concert at Old Trafford football stadium, where Chester played his large gold DW drum kit with two bass drums.

  • @GOLLYSKYWOOD2

    fair enough :P

  • disturbed is better

  • @jens1504 disturbeds version is good but this is better and the original

  • I saw Genesis in 1985 in Melbourne Australia on the Invisible Touch Tour.....Brilliant then and this performance is mind Blowing. They just get together after years apart and it's like putting on your favourite shoes, nothing changes talent is talent pure and simple

  • wo ist da das publikum????

  • The Music Video creeped me out for this song but the song it self had staying power. I can never get tired of it.

  • His voice is just Epic!

  • Great performance. Dead crowd, though, as previously stated. Nobody can say a song sucks unless they can do better, unless it's rap, which I (and so could pretty much anyone else) could make one of those in seconds, (because it takes no talent), and make millions from it.

  • @Indestructible218 I agree

  • @Indestructible218 Then you dont know how music works. I love rap and i love hard rock and many other types of music. I can see (hear) the beauty in many types of singing styles. Sure rap isn't singing in the conventional style (like mr Collins here) but its damn sure not easy and''talentless''as you make it up to be. Im just saying stop being a dick about what people listen 2.I can say that im blessed that my heart let me love a big variety of music. I wouldnt like to be so oneway-sided like u.

  • @Indestructible218 Lets hear it dude. I'll be your fucking agent, lets make a million bucks, it'll only take a few minutes. Rap is poetry, and culture, and like all music there is a lot of shit out there, if you haven't found anything good in rap thats very much your own problem.

  • @Indestructible218 if its so easy, why won't you do it?

  • Aaargh, Daryl and Mike didn't harmonize the whoa-whoa-oh's...

  • HUGE Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel (after Genesis) and Genesis fan..

  • Studio of live, perfect heeft Phil dit onder zijn hoede. Knap werk van deze band.Heb ze vele keren mogen zien, het concert in de ArenA 2007 was uniek.

  • aaah great songs :D

  • what a dead crowd, makes it 10 times harder to preform in front of a dead crowd.

  • great song, but they all look so depressed, nobody seems to be enjoying themselves

  • This song so 100% true.

People should listen and change so that our future will be better.

  • People don't follow Phil singing "Oooh Ooooh Oh!" :(

  • My favorite band ever! Phil Collins Forever!!!

  • phil sounds like he can do raggae

  • What a shame that I can't find out one live video where they actually play it in the original pitch.

  • his voice sounded good in this one.

  • Was für ein lahmes Volk! Verdammte scheisse, echt...

  • Great Song!

  • i wonder why Phils not playing the Drums?

  • Ah! If LIFEwere Easy...

    Burnout the confusion-sellers hard!

    and Hard!

    Bernard

  • Relevant, more than ever.

  • Phil looks like Locke's twin from the TV Series Lost.

  • Phil Collins!!!!!!!!!

  • What a stinking dead crowd, Mike, Phil and Tony should have cut the song short and walked off the stage, They are by far excedingly better than any group out now. I have yet to hear any group match Genesis' writting or arrangements in this new millineum. Thank god for recordings, I couldn't live if all I could listen to was the crap out now.

  • That is not Collings. That is John Locke.

  • Holy shit it's John Lock from Lost!!!

  • they look upset.

  • Phil collins voice is IDENTICAL to the studio version i wish all artists could sound that good

and for live outdoor concert i think it sounds great ppl need to SHADDUP i would like to see them do better

  • yupp, looks like john locke lol

  • This crowd sucks.

  • im confused..... who wrote the song, disturbed or genesis?

  • Comment removed

  • @austincitylimits123 Definitely not Disturbed... Who are they again?

  • Im wondering what John from Lost is doing there? Isnt he still on that island?

Na but nice voice and song even tho Disturbeds versions better in ma ears ;)

  • Phil Collins reminds me of someone.

  • @Argothman1

    John Locke from lost?

  • @Neoworry No, Captain Picard from star trek

  • Phil Collins looks like Locke here.

  • Shame that they are not playing with Peter Gabriel anymore :(

  • When people compare Genesis and Disturbed, they always write about the lead singer difference.

I like Phil Collins big time, but I way prefer disturbed guitar.

Get me Phil Collins over a more punched guitar rift, and I'll say this is the version I'd prefer.

  • @bout2bout That;s because they are not the same style...Disturbed is more of an Alternative band and genisis more of a progressive band..Disturbed is covering that song we can't expect Genesis to have punchy guitars when they are an progressive band.

  • Genesis and Phil rule the fucking world! Suck on that haters!

  • How can 2 people not like this???

  • Nice, but I like the Disturbed cover more. Disturbed covered a lot of Genesis songs, Ten Thousand Fists, Land of Confusion etc. You could say that the work great together =]

  • @Ypevandermeer "Land Of Confusion" is the only Genesis song Disturbed have covered.

  • Anyone else think that the singer looks like Locke from Lost? xD

  • @Jacke9779 The singer also has a name dude :/ And I don't know who Locke is :P

    Phil Collins rocks!!

  • Awesome. More than that. Love Phil's voice.

  • Yeah, how did Phil Collins keep his voice? most singers that have been singing for so long get weird voices,,

  • Pure legends, Genesis songs are the real stuff!

  • I think it's amazing that he has roughly the same singing voice nearly 20 years later.

  • @negergreger88 He didn't :P This is lowered a whle step down in key so he can sing. His voice color is the same, but his range isn't as good as it used to be. Too bad too. Phil is one of my all time favorite singers right after Freddie Mercury :)

  • Disturbed will NEVER reach a tenth of what Genesis did... You can tell just by how good they sounded months before retiring from concerts...

Even if of course this one was played in a lower tone...

  • Cooooooooool! This is the first time I wach this jewel.

  • waste of bloody time having a stage in london, I live in england and I'm pretty surprised how lame the audience reacted. audience was rubbish for all the daytime acts including Metallica, Genesis and many other legends. Great peformence!

  • It's sad that some younger people think that Genesis pre-records ANYTHING! I have seen them several times, they are (imho) the best of the prog bands when it comes to live performances. They are fantastic musicians, they don't NEED studio tampering to sound great...unlike modern 'musicians'.

  • Vocals pre-recorded???...I don't think so folks! Genesis comes from a time when bands played live and sang live. They never did it back in time and they are not doing it now. Same goes for other pop rock bands that I grew up listening to such as Simple Minds, The Fixx, or Toto..etc etc...Same goes for other great bands I grew up listening to like Van Halen, Scorpions etc etc. Keep listening to your rap, hip hop, JayZ,50 cent, and Blink 182 sh*t dumb asses.

  • It's funny listening to the retards who think these are pre recorded vocals lmao!

Yes he pre recorded all the breaths, and when he takes the mic away too early and his voice drops at exactly the same time. Of course you record all the mispronounced words and slip ups because it's sooooooo easy to reproduce the movements when miming lol!

  • Well at least David from Disturbed actually sings the song live, this is too pre recorded vocals, however i have seen a video were the 'oh yeah' bits are sang bu the guitarist or bass player.

  • @tgrules565 pre recorded? so he's timing when he takes the mic away from he's mouth proves that?

  • @tgrules565 Idiot

  • pre recorded...look at 1:37 and 2:35

  • @gabrielcabralpereira I'll say this one was actually him singing, he had the mic in his hand, and it would pick him up singing from that far away. Now the other one from the DVD was IMO prerecorded.

  • i wish i had the chance to be there and see this amazing band live. this crowd makes me really angry. standing staring and doing nothing. shame on you!!

  • Comment removed

  • @rockjosi i had the same experience at a stones concert in berlin, but our group really raised the roof ^^

man, this guy was 57 when this was taped and he can still sing like he's 30. if that isnt worth partying for ;-)

  • @rockjosi I saw them at Old Trafford, Manchester, the evening of this day, 07/07/07. The only time I saw Genesis live. One word for Genesis, magnificent.

  • @rockjosi I guess they don't realy know who Genesis are ;)

  • fantastico

  • well... the crowd doesnt look that enthusiastic... i wasnt there it's just a quick look at too many people making too many problems xD

  • @Gethagor totally agree with ya there man there the ones causin tha probs:)

  • Ich habe mir das heurige Konzert auf Sky angesehen, leider habe ich nichts aufgezeichnet! Besteht die Chance, dass es jemand hier einstellt?

  • Shit, that is the least excited crowd I've ever seen, bummer.

  • John Locke? Is that you? :D

  • this song still rings outs even after 2 decades, we've still got problems around the world and this song told it then and now. i bow down before genesis.

  • @supersandman86 as do i

  • @kingofkeyboards rock on my main man, rock on!

  • disturbed did a great cover of this song

  • nice song

  • Great song. Boring performance and crowd.

  • in this order... i like the versions of this song i've heard. Disturbed, In Flames, Gensis.... and i find it noteworthy that i think all 3 versions are awesome.

  • seems like pre-recorded singing like in 01:37 phil doesn't hold the mic even close to his mouth when he yells "woooaaah" and same in 02:35 , exept then he tries put the mic near his mouth.

  • @DjFinMix note that its the same word.. 2 times... and he does the same movements both times... so maybe its one of the band members. and the band members are ALL obviously playing their instruments. so why would they bother to record the singer ?

  • @DjFinMix it isn't phil at this parts ^^

  • I love hearing bands at these events cos the sound is always a lot more exposed and less polished. Sounds great. Go Phil!

  • the song is very good

  • Phil Collins is great

  • A bit of a pop song here =))) thats not the good-old Genesis art-rock!

    But I like lyrics.

  • Genesis is my favorite band. This is my favorite song ever! Phil Collins is one of the greatest drummers/singers ever.

    Great video \,,/

  • @canadiandrumbum55 u also listen to the early peter gabriel area of genesis, thats what i like more

  • I..realy hate this live

the music vidoe sounds much better

  • great song, ive seen better performances though, this one seems a little lazy. :)

  • Disturbed is my favorite band, but they ain't come anywhere near how great genesis plays it. And seriousely, all u guys sayin this is a cover, and it's disturbeds song, it's not. There my favorite band, and I'll admit it.

  • they dont coem anywhere near how great genesis plays this?...wtf

  • I Thought the original was done by Tears For Fears?

  • @Bobbit323

I think you're getting confused by Disturbed's cover of Shout which is a Tears For Fears song.

  • Oh rofl my bad i must have been not paying much attention lol XD

  • for real, this song was written before any 'disturbed fans' were even alive. fuck outta here with that shit.

  • just a point of clarification my dad is a big disturbed fan and he is 60 so he was alive....

  • ofcourse Disturbed did the cover ONLY !

bass line ogf Genesis is awesome

  • lol this is the original, not a cover. Disturbed did the cover...

  • opps, sry, wrote wrong
