  • im african american an im proud of nigeria they are hard working modern people

  • @345SAT Thank you very much

  • haters flatter us becuase they care so much !! lol!

  • i don't think we are up to 150million...no IC how do they count...

  • only jobless idiots reply to a year old post!

  • Is this what Nigeria is at 50 rubbish.

  • I love how the bitter, white, British, reporter let his arrogance over take him and try to insult Nigerian development in typical white fashion; by saying that their future of success is on the brink of destruction.

  • The middle class population is around 15 million in Lagos and growing. That's a pretty hefty number.

  • Economical wealth? Showing a male rapper? Why not show a young male lawyer? But we saw the presenter right, who is a young white man, so I presume its material from a white point of view. Nigerians have always carried themselves with dignity and sophistication. I find this footage repulsive. Bloodeh cheek if you ask me.

  • To put it causually "I Feel you", but in my opinion i feel given the events of late including the terror attack over christmas by a Nigerian, any positive News about Nigeria is good for the country. BTW the rapper in the video has a Bs in Biology, and currently pursuing a masters degree in oil and gas engineering. And unlike most Nigerians that come to the US and get lost "so to say"....He goes back home & does what he can to help the country

  • @NickEgb I respect that. I think black africans should stay in their homecountries and not immigrate to the west.

  • @FreeDogdylan Given you live in America, I think a native american would be of the same opinion about you :)

  • @ColaBling I hate rappers generally, because I feel they often give a very misleading image to young people. But they did show the chairman of HiTV and an emerging markets analyst.

Also the modern malls and television network shows a side of lagos that western viewers rarely ever see. Also it was generally upbeat, devoid of the usual negativity present in news on africa :)

  • @ColaBling You are a bit harsh in your comments. With progress there is a a bit of decline such is the nature of human existence. I have been around the world and never been to a perfect European city have you? As a matter of fact, if the west would get its hands out of the Nigerian pockets ( Petroleum), them maybe more native peoples could progress from it's rich reserves!

  • @Jstar141957 Not at all it l know the situation you speak of. In fact the wholew world does. My answer to you is how could the head statesmen of Nigeria allow the westerns to take over their precious commodities in the 1st place and allow their own people to become the most disrespected people within their own counrty? The heads of Nigeria are not morally codes and therfore have no real value towards Nigeria. The value is their selfishness and pwn personal survival.

  • That raper seemed to be a moron. Nigerias problem is corruption, crime, overpopulation and poverty. The middle class is actually the teachers, the medical doctors and the police. The first thing that needs to be fixed in Nigeria and Africa is to restablish the "rule of law". That was the first thing Eurpeans did. When there is security the investment comes.

  • Moron maybe a bit harsh......everyone including you is subject to their own opinion. By the way you mentioned "rule of law". you forget one thing.... the "rule of law". is there, but the question is who would & how could you enforce it properly....

  • @FreeDogdylan you are right, in nigeria now the law is being respected a lot more in matters pertaining to legal proceedure than before so we are getting there baby steps but as long as they are in the right direction thats all that matters..

  • So go back to the DARK AGES and start all over again. Whether western or not, nations do it to better their lot. Look around you. You must admit that not everything in all cultures is morally and ethically correct. Also not everything that is cultural moves us forward.

  • Hey, development is good... BUT DONT LET ANYONE IMPOSE THE MEANING OF "DEVELOPMENT" TO U. WAT I WOULD SAY TO EACH NIGERIAN IS "LET THE MEANING OF DEVELOPMENT BE UR OWN PERSONALISED DEFINITION'.

  • Thank-you! I agree whole heartedly with your comment! we shouldn't use western standards to define our progression, but rather, what works for, and is ideal for us!

    PEACE!!

  • @vixxy02 to hell with these fake ass ppl

  • Comment removed

  • We can always learn POSITIVE THINGS from those who have done stuff b4 us... but not everythin should be learnt...ppl MUST learn to modify the basic things they hav learnt from western culture so that (as vixxy said) it works for and is ideal for them... they must overcome inferiority complex. what makes one society happy doesnt necessarily make another happy. I HATE CONFORMITY (THOUGH I LIKE LEARNING POSITIVE THINGS)... WITHOUT VARIETY ON EARTH, LIFE WOULD BE VERY BORING!
