I actually enjoyed the traveling in this game...but then again i love water and ships, I could see where it would be annoying to some people. But overall it was a very good game, definitely not the best suikoden, but still hell of a lot better than most games

I've never played the other suikoden games, but I love this game. A lot of people hate it because they compare it to the others...when you do that, you WON'T like it. There are things that could've been better in this game, but overall it was pretty awesome. The opening rocks!

Explain, then, how Suikoden fans should rate this in the franchise? This by far ranks the worst out of the entire franchise for me. That's including Card Stories, Gaiden Vol. 1 & 2 and Tactics.

Here's hoping Tierkreis doesn't manage to steal last place.

The beginning was awesome, the story really took me in. But the story could have been developed so much more. The ending seemed rushed. Suiko 4 really had potential but didn't end up as good as the other ones. I still enjoy playing it tho!

I didn't HATE Suikoden 4 but it was the baddest in the serie. It was an okay game imo. I enjoyed the ship fights and the pirate theme.

Well I love suikoden to death... but Suikoden 4 was really bad in gameplay. About 50% of the game time is just to travel on the sea...

But the thing that wanted me to continue was the story like in all other Suikoden games :)

I guess it's a matter of preference. Sometimes the ocean travel could get a little tedious, but overall I loved the realism of it. It really felt like traveling on an ocean. I loved how you could stop the ship and go to the character screen and see open ocean all around. The characters weren't nearly as colorful as Suikoden I, II or III, but what game has ever had characters that could match the scale of those three masterpieces? This one isn't quite at that level, but it's good.

I really enjoyed Suiko 4. The only drawbacks were the world map and the fact that you could only have 4 members in your party. Apart from that it was a really good game plus Suiko 4 had Cheipoo in it my favorite Suiko character !!! =)

Suikoden 4 takes place 150 years before Suikoden 1. Ted kicked ass with his Souleater rune. He should be in more.

Suikoden 4 is the best game alright! Helmut, Sigurd, Lady Kika and all the character is not bad. I intro is the best especially when the hero look at the cursed rune. Best game i ever played alright. At 1:35 is Ted, bearer of SoulEater rune.
