You tested the hotcakes through the buffered bypass of the TS-9... But it doesn´t matter: The sound of the recording is so bad that you could compare a sandwich and a toast instead...
The Tim/Timmy sound like they are your amp overdriving. The Hotcake sounds like your amp distorting. I can't imagine playing without either. They're both the absolute best at what they do.
i find that tubescreamers suit some amps more than others, for example naturally mid scooped amps like fender twins. They sound way too honky on their own in british amps i think
WOW. I'm so glad I've seen this video. I own a ts9 that I'm having Keely mod into a 808 but I think I'm going to pick up a regular Hotcake as well. Especially considering the newer ones can be switched between a regular HC, blueberry and one I've heard is for bass.
Also, has anyone heard The Cardigans song "A Good Horse". I find that to be one of the best sounding overdrive tone. Know what he plays?
hotcakes are all hand crafted by mr. Paul Crowther and they are fantastic pedals!they do not change the natural tone of your gat! they just compliment it!

i can't stand that fuckin mid boost from tube screamers

Totally agree. The best tube screamers out now: Digitech Bad Monkey and Keeley TS9DX Flexi

I think the Bad Monkey has a huge mid boost and lacks dynamics, I really don't like it, never tried a Tube Screamer though.
