shame the quality is so bad! i really like this one, your voice fits the song really good. But though I have to admit i prefer acapella versions of this song.

That was REALLY nice; great singing and accompaniment, I enjoyed it a lot. I play a melody similar to yours but can't find a set of chords that fit well even though it seems such a simple song; if you could possibly list yours I'd be very grateful.

Who knows? It comes from British maritime activity in the West Indies, but thats obvious. Sweeney's Men did the song in the 60's. It's hard to get ahold of the tape but I think there is a video on youtube.

I have only heard it live played and sung by a friend of mine Frank Holden of St. John's. I have heard variations by other groups around the province but none with a Jamaican twist. Thanks for the comment!

I respect what you are doing with this song. Fingerpicking while singing is very difficult, especially when you add all of the fills on the guitar. You played it well.
