The humane society of the US and IFAW is campaigning against it among others. The US government has banned any trade in canada seals for more than ten years and it's just been banned by 27 European member state. So now you can start raving about all of those organizations

The seal population is very high in Canada, killing fewer cod would be preferable but I doubt the fish could truly recover anymore.
So the main thing stopping the seals from wiping out the fish all together is having less seals in need of food, and since the seal hunt already happens, just go with that

Yes, but kill less. Or preferably, let's start with family planning- leave enough room on the planet for everyone else! There's no reason for a huge, wholesale slaughter anyway. I just hope that if the hunt continues, we keep much closer tabs on it to avoid buggering that up like we did with the fish...

It's quite a tricky balance, much harder to figure out than PETA supporters usually give credit for.
This isn't a case of mindless slaughter of seals, if we don't kill enough the fish are wiped out and then so are the seals, if we kill too many the seal's population could be crippled

It's hypocritical for PETA to call itself a non-profit organization when they rake in around $24 million a year, yet kill over 2,000 healthy animals a month since it's too expensive to keep and look after them.
Not to mention PETA are all about protecting animals but what they do to humans is disgusting.
For example they have an ad campaign comparing the holocaust to farms, and calling it "The Holocaust on your Plate".
It's absolutely disgusting in every way.
