@sausage4mash You eradicate bad ideas (like religion) through open and honest criticism of them. That is why free speech -including the ability to freely criticize religion- is so important. Free speech and debate leads us to truth. That is why in Islamic countries they are so scared of criticism, and they execute people for insulting Islam or the prophet. They know their religion will crumble if it the light of reason shines on it.

It seems to me that environment creates the behaviour. Like when you go to the ghetto area of a city. It is not poor people that are creating problems it is the ghetto that forces people to act a certain way. If you put those same people in a healthier environment they will act differently.
