  • Hey Man, care to help me out? Is your SlaughterHouse dvd a burnt copy? Mine is, when I contacted Amazon, they told me that's how the company does it now.

  • Jarashut, Your videos are superb. We have similar tastes in Horror cinema! I must admit the U.S. Friday the 13th Uncut(1980) Blu-ray by Paramount is VERY POOR. The cover art is a terrible looking photoshop cover & the aspect ratio is cropped to almost 1.33(pan&scan) Lastly is Manchester Morgue(Let Sleeping Corpses Lie) worth picking up on Blu-ray. I know Blue Underground is among the elite for Blu-ray Horror releases! Regards!

  • I've been watching your videos for quit a while now. And ever since I have been picking up any movie you've reccommended & I have not been disappointed with any of them so thank you for that and keep em coming!!

  • Nah, it's quite solid. I thought it was gonna be flimsy by the pics I seen on the internet but they really did it no justice. Reggie is hilarious in the sequels. I really love how they incorporate some of the unused footage from the first film into the 4th, very cool :D Yeah, the features and bonus disc are really enjoyable too :)

  • The Phantasm films is my favourite horror series. You watched 2, 3 and 4 yet? I got the sphere set. It's a thing of beauty :D

  • I have not. I really need to, but been so very busy lately. I think it's one of the best sets I've got also content and design wise. I love the packaging. I heard the sphere set is a bit flimsy - is that so?

  • what is firday the 13th like on blue ray compared to dvd I like the classic vhs cover better

  • Hey man. I actually watched the F13 Blu-ray and I was surprised how good it looked. Very clear and pristine. It actually was so clear the Kevin Bacon kill looked horribly fake :D

  • Most people dont even know that Jason is not in the first Friday the 13th. They are just trying to sell dvds I guess. That cover art is okay. It looks good considering some of the new shitty one I have seen lately. If you want a laugh go and look a the Night of the Creeps dvd release covers.

  • Yeah, I think thats what they are laying on - hoping people don't realise Jason is not the killer in Part one. What Night of the Creeps DVD is that? The new SE one?

  • I was going to post the link for the creeps dvd covers but it seems it is dead now. They were having a vote to see which one was chosen for the release. They should just use original artwork!

  • Awesome DVD update James!!

Awesome on the Hitcher special edition. I wish they would put out a special edition here in the United States.

The cover for Friday the 13th looks pretty good, but I don't like how they use Jason on the cover because he hardly was in the movie.

I have never seen any of the Phantasm movies, but I will have to check them out.

  • Hey mate, thanks very much. Yes, I agree Justin - why there isn't a special edition for The Hitcher in the states defeats me. I know - I think they were being sneaky with the F13 BR, not only is Jason not in it much, but he doesn't get the mask until part 3! lol, oh well. Phantasm films have a great reputation, and I've seen the first myself. Really enjoyed it. Thanks for the comment.

  • Also, Blue Underground is awesome!

  • Hey there. Totally agree on Let Sleeping Corpses Lie - great little flick. Really well done, and as you said, wonderfully offbeat. Yeah the BU 2 discer is a very nice edition, worthy of a pick-up for fans. Highly recommended. Thanks for watching.

  • I really enjoy my Let Sleeping Corpses Die VHS... it's one of the best old school, off-beat zombie flicks. Definitely got to pick up the Living Dead at Manchester Morgue DVD. I didn't know a new DVD was coming out... this is the first I heard of it! Thanks. Pretty cheap on Amazon, too.

  • july already ;-O the hitcher was really good, not seen it for years, but, sticks in the memory.Love sean bean but,he always seems to be bravo 2 zero or major sharpe in anything lol god bless him

  • Hey Gray. Gawd, I know, time flies. Feels like only a few weeks ago I was in Tasmania for Xmas. The Hitcher certainly does stick in the memory. I watched it a long time ago, but could recall most of it. Since watched it the other day - as good as I remember. :) lol, yes, it's hard to disassociate Bean from some of his roles. My father Loves Sharpe :D

  • friday the 13th what a badass cover that wouldve been worth the wait if you asked me but i see that rated r and ours is unrated.

what site did you order the Phantasm from?

  • Man, when I saw The Hitcher there I done a double take, and said WTF, then picked up the DVD, got all excited and called over my GF lol. So I guess...not normal? Yeah mate - all our films have to be rated here. Same cut as the US version though. I got it off eBay, pretty cheap too. Thanks Trav.

  • when you walk though a store and you seen something you thought you wouldnt do you get excited and scream or jump up and down like i do are do you act normal?

  • I just finished watching the phantasm series and I really enjoyed all of them they have a really great atmosphere about them, in the booklet which comes inside the boxset talks about a possible phantasm 5 which will be intresting if it gets made, I prefer the boxset to the sphere too, great update mate.

  • Hey there. Thats great man - I might watch them in a big marathon one day. Should be fun. Possible 5th film eh? Hmm, sounds good. Thanks for the info and comment. Much appreciated ;)

  • Have you seen Max Raven's The Abomination? I just paid a nasty price for an original mint copy of it on vhs...if you can get your hands on it buy it.

  • Hey man - didn't know that about the actor in Phantasm 2. Hope it doesn't distract. Man, your probably the first whose said the 2nd is the worst. Not having a go or anything, just really interesting. The Abominations - no, can't say I have seen it. I will be looking it up shortly though now :P. Thanks man.

  • Phantasm 4 is by far the best. Phantasm 2 doesnt even have the same actor playing mike....i love them all but if i had to pick a dud its number 2

  • I think you'll like Phantasm 2 alot it's a bit of an improvement from the first one. Part 3 and 4 had cool effects but I think the acting was getting cheesier and a little hard to palet. Great update J.

  • Thanks for the info mate. A lot of people on here seem to love the second film so I'm really looking forward to it. Cheers.

  • That F13 cover is terrible i dunno why cant they just use the original artwork. Great to see you picked up Living Dead at Manchester Morgue & Cat in the Brain both are great releases! I have the lenticular cover but ive been very tempted to sell it! lol Thanks for showing Slaughterhouse id forgotten about this one another for the wants list! Great stuff James!

  • Exactly mate - the original poster would have been great as the cover, but meh - had to go that phototshop look didn't they. Cheers mate - you werea lot of the reason I picked up Manchester Morgue again - that 2 discer you showed looked too good to pass up :). lol, yeah you'd actually probably get a bit of money for the 3-D Cat DVD. Slaughterhouse is a great one from the late 80s - very enjoyable. Cheers mate.

  • well, liked the hitcher and slaughterhouse, i'll get the hitcher first.

anyway GREAT video man!it helps a lot to get the picture.

  • Hey man, thanks very much. The Hitcher is a very smart choice to begin with. Great film. Cheers

  • sorry computer playing up.just wondering if the aussie version of F13 is uncut like it is in the states.

  • Hey man. yeah, it's the same cut. We've had it released here like that a few years on DVD previously.

  • Rutger Hauer is the man with the mad eyes. The Original THE HITCHER is superb, Gripping.

  • Great vid as usual James!

I picked up the Friday the 13th Blu Ray last Wednesday at JB. I couldn't believe it was only $24.98.

As you would know, Friday the 13 (2009) is out on 23 July. I think we're getting a triple Blu Ray pack that includes Friday 13th (2009) and Friday the 13th parts 2 & 3

  • Hey man - yeah, got mine at JB too. Nice to see a decent price on a new release. That pack your talking about has the remake and the sequels, and not the original? That's strange.

  • Yeah, I also thought it was strange.

  • The blu ray cover for your version of F13 is nice, if it were for a different F13 movie, right? Looks like it should be the blu ray cover for F13 part 7.

  • Hit the nail on the head there - it does like like something you would use for F13 Part 7 - right down to the chains. All they'd need to do is remove the slogan.

  • That cover for F13 actually looks pretty sweet...but doesn't go with the movie at all, haha!

Definitely want to get Living Dead at Manchester Morgue (Let Sleeping Corpses Lie)

Slaughterhouse sounds like my type of movie!

Phantasm FTW!!! I love the first one, still need to watch the sequels.

    Great update James!

  • lol, your right there man, most definitely doesn't go with the film. Oh well, only a cover I guess. Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is great - one of the best of its kind. Slaughterhouse is very entertaining for what it is. I'm the same with Phantasm - only seen the first, so I decided to get all the rest with one fell swoop! Glad I did too. Cheers for the comment.

  • Great Update:)

Dude that F13th dvd cover is pretty kool

i ordered Slaughterhouse a couple of days ago!

    Great Phatasm Box set

    awesome!

  • Hey man. I'm still a bit off with the F13 cover - looks like false advertising to me. Yay, great minds think alike - tell me what you think of Slaughterhouse when you receive it. Phantasm set is worth an import if your a fan, great set.

  • The Hitcher was an awesome film, it's such a fun movie! I also agree rutger hauer's perfromance was way better!

That Friday the 13th cover art is weird, the slogan was cool but the cover just doesn't make sense, lol !!

Slaughterhouse looks cool I will definitely check that one out !

Let Sleeping Corpses Lie & Cat in the Brain

are classics, and they both have awesome release's!!

That Phantasm box set is really cool as well!!

    amazing update James!

    5*'s

  • Hey mate. he Hitcher is really well done - love some of the shots in that film, and Hauer is mind-numbingly good. lol, yeah, F13 cover doesn't really have anything to do with the film. Slaughterhouse I'd recommend if your a fan of cheesy, fun slashers that don't take themselves seriously. I've yet to watch Cat in the Brain but I'm excited for it - looks like something very different from Fulci. I agree - superb releases too. Phantasm set is great. Thanks for commenting

  • That F13 cover art is kinda silly; maybe they were trying to con some of the more casual fans into thinking it was the remake in order to ship more units. Haha. Oh, I want Manchester Morgue. Huh, I've never seen Slaughterhouse. I'll check it out. Cat in the Brain is ok; in some ways its more of a compilation of gore shots than a full movie, but it's pretty good. I've only seen the first Phantasm, but we're FINALLY getting #2 here in region 1 land. Great video man.

  • Hey man. That's my thoughts exactly on the F13 cover. Very obvious it was to con less knowledgeable fans into getting it. Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is one of the best zombie flicks around, you wont regret it. Slaughterhouse is great for slasher fans and the Phantasm set is just cool. Yeah, Cat in the Brain does look like its got a lot of gore. I'm hopeful though. Cheers buddy.

  • The Hitcher is one of my favourite films ever... watched this in the cinema when I was a kid.. Great twist that I didn't expect.. nice pick up.. F13th is a classic. Let Sleeping Corpses Lie looks nice.. The Phantasm set looks nice... Tend to agree about the sphere now I've seen yours.. Great update.....

  • Hey mate. Yes, the Hitcher is excellent. Watched it again yesterday, even better than I remembered. You saw it in the cinema? Wowza, that is very cool. Yeah, I was just never too keen on the Phantasm sphere set for some reason, so I went for that one instead. Very pleasantly surprised. Well made and lots of extra goodies too.

  • That new BLU of F13th makes it look like the Remake! Maybe that's what they were going for to grab the buyers attention? Looks too slick and yeah, kinda misleading.

I enjoyed Cat In The brain!

    Nice Phantasm set!

    Great update, James!

  • Hey Lor1 - lol, exactly, very misleading! Obviously a cheap attempt to trick people into buying because they think they'll be getting some Jason action I bet. Yay, can't wait to watch cat in the Brain. The Phantasm set is very good - great features and packing. Thank you.

  • No probs mate , i don't think you're wrong though cus i think where it was filmed in Derbyshire is just on the edge of the Peak District so we were both right.

  • More cool dvd's mate. I like the Phantasm set, I've seen the first 2. cheesey but fun.

  • Cheers Gleen. I've only seen the first film, so I wanted to pick up the set and get them all in one go. Had that Horror Classics barebones version of the first film before.

  • hell yeah! awesome update! ive been wantin to pick up slaughterhouse! and the hitcher is kick ass! the phantasm set i awesome aswell!

  • Hey man. Slaughterhouse is one I can see you really digging. Fun slasher.

  • I forgot to mention that I'm not surprised about The Hitcher DVD. The late 80s home video was a hugely popular release - oh yes I'm old enough to remember !!

  • I was more surprised the fact we got another release of it. Seems like once a film is released here on DVD, that's it, for better or worse. But yay, SE goodness - I'm not complaining :D

  • Yeah re-releases are not as common in a small market, but it's fair to say that it's happening more often. Like with The Howling SE and probably many others.

The only superiority that Region 4's have over other places is when Australian films are released, particularly those released by Madman and Umbrella because they often raid the NFSA vaults for their special features.

  • Yah, that's a very accurate statement. Makes sense. I guess your right - things are better than they used to be. More things getting re-releases. Both Studio Canal ones - they seem to releasing a lot lately. NFSA vaults - I'll have to read up on them. Thanks for the info, as always.

  • Great video

  • Cheers man.

  • The Hitcher is another flick where the rating has dropped from 18+ to 15+.

Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is getting released by Umbrella soon - also only 15+. It will be interesting to see what special features they get. I sent them an email ages ago about Cat in the Brain, and they said that it was "on the cards".

I didn't like Phantasm 2, but each to their own hey!

  • Hey mate. Yep, had the original Hitcher release. Noticed the rating drop. A good thing. Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is already out by Umbrella, saw it the other day. It's bare bones unfortunately, which I had a feeling it would be. Oooh, Cat in the Brains on the cards - didn't know that. Good news indeed. Haven't seen Phantasm II but a lot of people seem to love it more than the original. Thanks mate.

  • i got a dvd coming that i ordered cause of you, you let me know about the company Umbrella hopefully it comes fine it will be in my next update :)

  • Oh really. Sounds interesting man. What is it :P? Sorry about The Island again. Fucking video store eventually rang me up and said that they didn't have any left in the warehouse. Sorry I didn't inform you mate it slipped my mind.

  • its cool., its deadly blessing

  • Ah yeah, Deadly Blessing. We're the only ones with a release I think hey. The DVD unfortunately doesn't have any special features save for a trailer, but its in anamorphic widescreen and the cover art is nice. Cheers

  • yeah there is a uk one but it doesn't have commentary. your right the cover art is cool to.

  • I thought it was okay, but that's the original film I showed. A sequel in winter would be a great idea. Jason in the snow would look great :D.

  • hey buddy great video, i went into JB and there were a heap of the friday the 13th dvds and blurys. At first i thought it was the remake, but yeah..its got some cool features on it. And for $15 i thought why not. hahaha i hae like 3 versions of the original . But i also bought the 2 disk ghostbusters gift set with the slime and stay puft marshmellowman. ill do a vid for it soon. take it easy

  • Hey mate - was it those new F13s with the white covers and the weapon on them? They re-released them like two months ago for some reason which makes me think we will not be getting the deluxe editions of Part Iv onward that the states just got. Noooo! lol, I saw that Ghostbusters set, looked pretty awesome :D.

  • i bought a couple of them, and there on their way to mr hodder to sign lol

im not game enough to open the slime in the ghost busters set incase it goes off.

im tossing up if i should get the hellraiser cube set. the new one which was released a couple of months back. I have the phantasm sphere set and i know a guy who will pay me over $100 for it lol..but im keeping it

  • lol, I wish I had something signed by Hodder. Need to get on that. Yeah, been thinking about getting the new Hellraiser cube too. That would be great.

  • glad to see it ,The hitcher, finally rated MA

  • Yeah, noticed the rating had changed :D

  • nice dvds man, Let Sleeping Corpses Lie is a classic zombie movie that is very well done. I just love the feel and visuals of it. Like when they show the first zombie enter and run at after that babe twords the car.

  • Cheers. Yes, that scene is great. Your right, the visuals are quite beautiful in a haunting kind of way. I liked the location they chose to film in. Very eerie.

  • great update m8! i want to watch Living dead at manchester morgue!

  • Thanks very much man. The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue is a very unique zombie film. Great movie. Loved it when I first saw it. Forgot to mention it has a new transfer on that DVD.

  • Awesome update James, The Hitcher is one i want to see now.

  • Thank you man. The Hitcher is top class.

  • wow that Hitcher cover art looks great!

and i also own that Phantasm set it's really good and the sequels are all entertaining in their own right.

Have you watched the bonus stuff on friday the 13th yet man? if so are they basically stuff from "His Name Was Jason" cause if they are i probably wont re-buy it.

great update like always, 5 stars :)

  • Yeah, it's very simply, but effective. Phantasm set I'm very happy with - looking forward to watching the sequels. No, haven't watched the F13 bonus stuff, but I probably will today. I'll reply back when I do. ;)

  • Great update James! I need to check out Slaughterhouse and The Hitcher soon. I like that Phantasm boxset too...very nice. Cheers mate.

  • Cheers man. Slaughterhouse is fun but predictable, The Hitcher is top notch however. Yeah, the Phantasm set is pretty damn good. Lots of stuff to watch on that one.

  • awesome update man so was tht the friday the 13th remake ?

  • Thanks man. Nope, original F13 like I said. Remake ain't on DVD/BR until 23rd here.

  • ah man unlucky dude i found it on ebay for 99p bout $2 .00 in your currency along with midnight movie it was a pretty good deal i liked the remake wat did u think ?

  • Meh, I thought it was alright. I want to give it another chance so I'll be getting the BR when it's released here. Hopefully, it will change my mind.

  • i love hitcher watched it on tv last week for 10th time.dont think much of friday 13th cover i think blue ray covers suck at the momment i bet when they have caught up with all the dvds they will double back and start doin some awsome collector stuff.just a theory but i aint buyin any till they get better.had my ps3 for a year and a half now still aint seen a blue ray.

  • The Hitcher never gets played here. My gf is watching it at the moment though. Yep, don't think much of that cover either. Rather uninspired, and obviously is trying to lure people in by putting Jason on there. BRs will hopefully become better - they're pitiful here, the selection is so small compared to the US, and we have no special packing either (like some US releases with the book design). Kind of not worth it at the moment. Only if the BR is packed with Special Features will I buy it.

  • Living dead at manchester morgue was filmed in Derbyshire just outside Sheffield and about 20 mins from where i live , i used to go there in the summer .

  • Yeah, I remember you saying you lived near the location. That is so cool. I will probably show that place in the location featurette with the director.

  • the first 30 minutes of the hitcher is my favorite part of the movie, hope i can pick up a special edition someday. friday the 13th bluray cover art looks cool but i'm gonna give it a thumbs down.. lol.. the let sleeping courses lie dvd looks awesome, i really wanna see that movie. ahh that phantasm boxset looks incredible!! i gotta get that. your videos are the best, you're the man!!!

  • Yeah, I like it to. The psychological mind games he starts playing 'Say 'I want to die"' - great scene. Yeah, agree with the thumbs down man. I mean, I like the blue colour scheme, but the design is pretty shite, and doesn't represent the film. Let Sleeping Corpses lie is excellent mate, you'll and enjoy it, and yes, Phantasm set is great. Import it if you can. Thanks so much man.

  • that badass hitcher SE, great film. thats so wrong of the Friday the 13th cover lol. LDAMM is a fav of mine. Slaughterhouse is alright. cat in the brain is awesome. phantasm series is classic. awesome update as always

  • Hey man :D. Yeah, so surprised we got that Hitcher DVD. DVD release here are a wasteland - nothing worthwhile for a long time. Pleasantly surprised to see that though. lol, I know right. I think it's to get casual fans to buy the F13 BR thinking they'll get some Jason action. Yeah, Slaughterhouse is alright, nothing special. Cheers, can't wait to watch Cat in Brain. Might soon, actually. The Phantasm set I'm happy I finally broke down and bought - great stuff. Thanks mate for commenting.

  • You lucky bastard. I've wanted a Hitcher S.E. for years. I don't know why we don't have one in the U.S. That Phantasm set looks really cool, too. Great pick-ups!

  • Hey Piz, yep, me too. We only just got The Hitcher SE released for some reason - maybe the US is due for one now? The Phantasm set is great. Lots of features, and the packaging looks nice and its quite sturdy.

  • Awesome video, James! Nice pick up with the Phantasm set. The only film out of that series I haven't seen yet is Phantasm 2. That film is going to be released here on DVD in the states on Sept. 15th. I'm looking forward to getting that movie.

  • Thanks Chris :D. Yes, the Phantasm set is worth it. I heard about that release - here's hoping it has special features.

  • You're welcome. I also seen it was full Anchor Bay set. I know Phantasm 2 was released by Universal Pictures and Anchor Bay used to release their older movies. Yeah, I hope it has some decent features on there myself.

  • Yep, Anchor Bay set from the UK. I'm hoping fro Americans sake Universal aren't lazy and just release a bare-bones disc.

  • Yeah, I'd be very disappointed if they did. But then again Universal did a pretty good job with with the DVD's for Howard The Duck and Harry & The Hendersons. They have some very decent features on those discs, especially with Howard The Duck. So I'm holding out a little hope for the Phantasm 2 disc.

  • Hmm, didn't think of that. It's a hopeful sign though. Wish we got a release. We don't have any of them available here on DVD.

  • Seriously? That sucks. It's weird how one country would release something and the other country dosen't have it availble, or wouldn't be released until months later. It always boggled my mind.

  • lol, nothing new for us - we don't even have Hellraiser or They Live on DVD to name a few. We get very little horror released here which sucks.

  • No Hellraiser? That's beyond criminal, dude!!!

  • Indeed it does man :D

  • Hey man, lol, that's the whole mystery :P. Hmmm, I could hazard a guess why the remake was in there :). Yeah, if you want The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue, go for the BU release. Should be still in print. I've only seen the first Phantasm movie. We got none of them released here :(

  • the friday the 13th cover is sweet! I wish they had a Phantasm box set in the US but they dont. I think we will finally get Phantasm 2 on dvd in october i think. Cant wait its my fav in the series. Awesome update as always!

  • Cheers. I wish we had the Phantasm set here too - had to import it. Yeah, heard about the Phantasm II R1 DVD release - really good news. Took a long time though.

  • Another one i cant wait for is Night of the creeps! I think it comes out the same time as phantasm 2. Its an awesome movie if you can find it check it out!

  • Oh, feck yes! I love Night of the Creeps - great film. I'm salivating at the prospect of a SE DVD release :D.

  • Nice update man I 'm waiting for the Friday the 13th Blu Box set. Before i start buying them on Blu I do like that cover. we get the dvd's first and you guy get the better art

  • I was going to do that, but couldn't wait lol. I might still upgrade and sell off the others, don't know. lol, more like: you gets the dvds first.... and we probably wont get them - but maybe, and sometimes with better cover art :P

  • Great update man!

The Phantasm Box Set looks pretty cool.

  • Thanks very much. The set is great. Definitely worth a purchase if your a fan.

  • Great update!

The cat in the brain got a other title here in holland.

I'm very interested to see the phantasm movies.

  • Hey man - does it go under the title Nightmare Concert? It sometimes gets that title. Phantasm films are excellent - highly recommend checking them out.

  • Great Update.

  • Thanks very much

  • No problem.I enjoy watching your videos.

  • Cheers mate, I appreciate it.

  • This cover on The Hitcher is simple, but looks cool. I have the UK-SE of it, the featurette is produced by Blue Underground. The remake is pretty good too imho.

What are you complaining, James ? - We still don't have a DVD of the new F13 here in Germany. LOL The cover is alright I think. Nothing special.

I guess I'll pick up the new BU of Living Dead... if I have some money left over. Thanks for the quick DVD review. I still wish they had recorded a commentary for it though.

    Continues...

  • I would've bet you already owned Cat in the Brain. Must-have, no doubt. Is it sold in Australia too or did you have to import it from the states?

I wish I had not purchased the Phantasm sphere, because this set is the much better version imo. It's not taking up so much space on the shelf and the design is really well done. Plus the Spehere itself is really fragile and I didn't leave the DVDs in it anyway.

    Another amazing update, mate!

  • No, Cat in the Brain had to be imported :(. Yeah, late to the party with that one. Ah, I see. I just had a feeling the Phantasm sphere didn't look like something I'd enjoy as much as the boxset. Thank you man for commenting, as always ;)

  • Hey DOm, yeah, I agree. Still think I like that UK cover better though. Am I missing much with those other features not on our disc? think I read something about some short films? lol, yeah, I guess I shouldn't complain, but dammit, I will! Nothing special for the cover art, I agree. yay, I don't think you'll regret it. An Audio Com would have been good, but I don't think Grau's English is too good enough. Maybe that's why?

  • No, the shorts are not something I'd miss. The main thing is the commentary and the featurette by Blue Underground. So you aren't missing much :-)

    Yeah, I guess you're right about Grau's English. I don't know about Lovelock's English.

  • Thanks for the info man. I watched the doco yesterday - was bloody excellent. Quite long, very detailed, and nearly all the cast involved (excluding Jennifer Jason Leigh). Was worth it for that alone :D

  • Great Update James, The Hitcher great movie and Friday the 13th is a great movie really awesome and the cover looks pretty cool i like the hockey mask on it but the title could be better.

  • Hey man, yeah, The Hitcher is great. Kind of underrated. Found it funny they went to so much trouble putting Jason all over our DVD. Guess it guarantees it sells I guess.

  • Awesome vid! I'm gonna get The Hitcher when I get dvd's next. Which may be tomorrow. Just got Cat In The Brain, but haven't watched it either. Slaughterhouse sounds interesting, might get it if I can track it down. Phantasm kicks ass! I wonder why we don't have a release of it here? I do have to get 2, 3 and 4 though.

  • Hey man. DO you have EzyDVD? I got the Hitcher from there. Cool stuff - tell me what you think of Cat in the Brain when you watch it. Slaughterhouse is worth it if you like slashers, but yeah, nothing you probably wouldn't have seen before. Man, we still don't even have Hellraiser released here - the world is just unfair, that's all :P. Thanks man.

  • All the EzyDVD's that are near us are closed down, one of them just for a shitty sport stocktake sale.

I actually imported both Phantasm and Hellraiser just to see them. It's weird also, we have Umbrella here and it doesn't have a release. I think we have the other Hellraiser movies here, but not the first one. I have seen at my local video shop that there is a Hellraiser dvd and it says it's number Two, but it has the same cover as number One. Weird. I might check and see if it's the first.

  • Oh, that's too bad. All ours had closing down type sale,s but ended-up staying open.

Yeah, I had to import them too. Some of the first films I did. I think bigger companies own the rights here maybe, I don't know. I actually emailed Umbrella about it years ago but got no reply. Hmmm, is it a new DVD, or even an official one, because I think we only have number 3 onward available.

  • Kick ass as always

I need to add the Original The Hitcher to my collection and i think your artwork for FT13 is better than ours IMO....I don't have Cat In The Brain either and i am super jealous...PHANTASM

Man i wsh i had that.

    5 stars

    Ryan

  • Hey there Ryan, The Hitcher is an excellent film - seen it mate? Yeah, I'm still in two minds about our F13 cover - looks like it was done in like 5 minutes. Cat in Brain looks really strange, can't wait to watch it. Phantasm set is worth an import seeing as Phantasm II is probably going to be a barebones DVD for the states. Thanks man.

  • Nope never seen the original really dying to though...never been able to find it in any stores but i finally found a way to shop online without a credit card so i should be adding a bunch of films that i haven't been able to find to my collection soon.

    Hopefully

    Ryan

  • Cool stuff Ryan. You'll enjoy it I bet, very good film. My gf is actually watching it right this second :D

  • fantastic pick ups. the only one i haven't seen is Slaughterhouse. great video.

  • Hey Jed. Slaughterhouse I'd recommend if you like tongue in cheek slasher. Kind of silly, but fun.

  • Spot-On analysis on the superiority of the Original THE HITCHER over the remake.

  • Cheers mate. The remake just seemed more flashy, and Bean wasn't as menacing as the killer from the original in my opinion.

  • I wonder why the non region 1 releases of F13th have weird looking covers. They should come with the original artwork. Looks kinda cheap putting Jason on the front when he's not even in the film. But hey adleast you got it on Blu-ray. Whats he holding in his hands...Chains?? I noticed all the art on the Deluxe dvds was weird..Pt 4 with the corkscrew..LOL. Sweet Phantasm boxset!!! Look so damn nice im jelious. I like the look of the boxset..Wait till you watch pts 2 and 3..So friggin Juicey!!!

  • Hey Res :D. Yeah, we get some pretty naff covers. Umbrella and a few others usually do nice work though. It does look cheap I agree, and yep, he's holding a chain - wtf? Yeah, all our new re-releases have a weapon from the film. Strange choice, but I guess they all match in a way. Yeah, The Phantasm set is excellent, wish I had more time on cam for it. I can't wait to watch them either man. Juicey!

  • hey jarashut, I'm a big fan, just thought I'd say hi and I'm starting a collection of horror movies and I like your recommendations, have you seen inside or martys? both are amazing, thought I'd ask and omg I like your guys cover of friday the 13th then ours lol and yeah I saw cat in the brain at best buy, I think I should of got it now that I see that you got it lol and guess what? I've never seen the Phantasm movies but I'm going to, lol ok I'll shut up now

  • Hey mate. I have seen Inside - I was actually a bit disappointed :P. Don't get me wrong, I liked it, but I wanted more somehow. Martyrs I'm really looking forward to. Yeah, still not sure what to think of our F13 cover :P. Hmmm, if you ain't seen much Fulci, I'd maybe wait to see Cat in the Brain. Something like The Beyond or Zombi 2 is a better representation of his style. I've only seen the first Phantasm film myself, looking forward to the rest. Cheers for the comment ;)
