Thanks Forerunner, I don't see why you need a 2 part video to explain your views on this. It seems rather plain and straight forward to me. Instead of 2 videos, I'll just share 2 scriptures.
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
For it is written, that Abraham had 2sons, the 1 by a bondmaid, the other by a freewoman. But he that was of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman was by promise. Which things r an allegory; 4 these r the 2covenants; the one from mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage, which is Agar. For this Agar ismount Sinai in Arabia, & answereth to Jerusalem which now is, & is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is Above is free, which is the mother of us ALL.
This is exactly the story of Abraham, Sarah & Hagar! God promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, but Sarah was getting older and older and arrived at the age where it was HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE for her to bear children.
Abraham remembered God's promise that she would bear him a child, but he could not see how God would fulfill His promise, so weak in faith Abraham had a child by Sarah's servant Hagar.
But God would not accept their faithless solution apart from His PROMISE. He wants us to actually believe Him, and that always translates to faithful works. Their works were all based on a lack of faith and by their own strength and resulted in SIN-- Hagar's child was the child of BONDAGE.
When Abraham and Sarah repented of their sin and BELIEVED, God's miracle grace gave them a son--Isaac. The child of PROMISE. Not of human promise or human works. God's PROMISE by His power.
That's right, that was the fault of the first covenant, it was based upon poor promises of the disobedient (Heb 8:8). They PROMISED to keep His laws (Ex 24:3) and tried their human best, but they could not keep their promise.
Those who DID obey Him were the ones who realized they were wholly unable to keep His Commandments by their own strength and needed to rely on God's PROMISES--they had FAITH to let God write His law in their hearts!
Lev. 23: The LORD spoke again to Moses, saying, 2“Speak to the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘The LORD’S appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations—My appointed times are these: 3‘For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the LORD in all your dwellings.
God said the 7th day sabbath is his appointed time--a feast day, a shadow!
Yes God here in Leviticus repeats His eternal 4th Commandment among the temporary new moon meat & drink ceremonial sacrificial sabbaths, and only are the new moon meat & drink offering annual sacrificial sabbaths called "shadows" in Scripture. See Col 2:14-17, Heb 10:1.
@Nirky "Yes God here in Leviticus repeats His eternal 4th Commandment among the temporary new moon meat & drink ceremonial sacrificial sabbath..." Sorry, but the Bible does not say only new moon..blah blah..meat and drink blah blah. Don't try to change God's laws. The Scripture says the 7th day is a feast day, you said it's not. Daniel was right (Daniel 7:25)
The reason why God never calls His Day a "shadow" is that a shadow is a reminder of deliverance from sin, it pointed forward to Jesus' one-time sacrifice for the world's sin.
When the Lord Jesus created His Day on that seventh Day, there was no sin in the world, no need for Him to die for sin, that's why the Lord's Day, His Sabbath (Mk 2:27-28, Rev 1:10) is never called a shadow. God bless.
@Nirky You're mistaken. Jesus never claim Saturday to be his day. The Scripture says all sabbath days are shadow. The Christians' sabbath day is eternal. The sabbath day is of a promise (Hebrews 4:1), not a command to keep.
"For the law having a SHADOW of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those SACRIFICES which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect." Heb 10:1
Scripture only identifies the new moon meat & drink offering sacrificial law from the Book of the Law as shadows. None of God's law, the Ten Commandments (Rom 7:22) are ever called shadows.
His 4th Commandment is the Day the Lord Jesus claims Lordship of. Mk 2:27-28.
Lev ch 23 and Col 2:14-17 deal with the ceremonial new moon meat & drink offering sacrificial ordinances of the Book of the Law, which we have seen Scripture calls shadows. Heb 10:1.
Exodus 16 is God telling Moses & Israel the Lord's Day is already His law weeks before they got to Sinai. When did Jesus create the Sabbath, His Day?
"And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made." Gen 2:3
@Nirky Lev. 23:3 says, "For six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the LORD in all your dwellings."
You call this ceremonial new moon meat & drink...blah blah? What does the 4th commandment says? Works 6 days and rest on the 7th--the same as Lev. 23:3. When did Jesus create the Sabbath? No where in Scripture says it's created.
God repeats His 4th Commandment (written on stone by JESUS HIMSELF) among the temporary ceremonial ORDINANCES (Book of the Law written on parchment by Moses) in Lev ch 23.
During the times of the annual ceremonial sacrificial new moon meat & drink sabbaths of Lev ch 23 it was important for Israel to remain observing the seventh Day, the Lord's Day.
Jesus MADE (Mk 2:27) the Sabbath on the seventh Day of creation. The Sabbath identifies the Lord Jesus as Creator. Rev 14:7
Respectfully, Scripture becomes clear to all who prayerfully study and want to know Jesus' will for us. God always honors us when we seek His will (Heb 11:6).
Many know what Scripture says yet do not let themselves be subject to His law (Rom 8:7), therefore they CANNOT be subject to His law. Until there is a change of HEART there is no Scripture I could quote which would enable someone to see. The gift of repentance is the first step, then seek Him in Spirit and truth.
Our society is in it's current condition because people who are taught by false prophets don't understand the plan of Yah's Salvation through his Holy Days. It's interesting that christians keep holy, thanksgiving, x-mas, new years and easter and disregard the commandments of Yah - Mark 7:6-9. Please take time to review this before the return of the messiah. I hope you gain some understanding in the name of Yahshua
No Law is nailed to the cross. Sin is what's nailed to the cross and removed through repentance (Colossians 2:14-15). Sacrifice & the offering of animals is no longer required (Hebrews 10:1-10). Yahshua is the Lamb of Yah! Please be careful with your teaching. Peace!
who keeps the 9 commandments then ? hehe...or can i just kill you since we are not under the commandments anymore ? lol. whoever believes that all the commandments are not important are welcoming violence and disrespect basically right ? =p
@artmyersyp You said, "thanks for sharing.... widely misused verses against Jesus Sabbath." Can you defend your statement? You're making a statement without any argument which proves nothing.
@GodIsSovereignty just a few verses(not a exhaustive study) but these few verses show the importance of the sabbath. Rev.14:6,7 Rev.4:11 Eph.3:9 Ex.20:8-11 Mk.2:27,28 Ezek.20:12,20 Lk 4:16 Matt.24:20 Rev.1:10(Lords Day)these verse show what the lords day is Matt:12:8 Mk.2:27,28Is.66:22,23.the vid already describes the issues with Col. 2:14-17.
@artmyersyp Your scriptural verses prove nothing that we must keep the Sabbath. Col. 2:14-17 says the Sabbath is a mere shadow. "Lord of the Sabbath" is not ownership such as Lord's Day. "Lord of the Sabbath" refers to Christ authority over the Sabbath or greater than the sabbath.
@GodIsSovereignty as i stated in my first post i believe this verse i misused because Paul is not referring to the big Ten here as the vid explains. Although you will probably disagree with is fine...something we can both ask Jesus when where there in heaven (cant wait) although it will not matter then who was right will it.
The Lord's Day (Mk 2:27-28, Rev 1:10), Jesus' 4th Commandment, is definitely a day for feasting & celebrating, because Jesus made it holy & sanctified it for us as both a memorial of His creation & as a memorial of our spiritual re-creation in Him (Heb 4:1-11)! The Lord's Day is NOT a solemn Day, but a Day of joy!
His 4th Commandment, which Jesus wrote with His own finger on stone & spoke with His own voice to all assembled Israel, is definitely repeated by Moses in the Book of the Law, in Leviticus ch23, where we find Moses' introduction of the temporary ceremonial sabbath ORDINANCES.
The ceremonial sacrificial meat & drink offering new moon sabbath ORDINANCES (Col 2:14) from the Book of the Law all pointed forward to deliverance from the penalty SIN (sin is transgression of the Ten Commandments (1 Jn 3:4, Rom 7:22), by the real substance, Jesus' perfect atoning sacrifice for our breaking of His Commandments.
These shadows of the book of the law all witness against us (Deut 31:26), that we have broken God's perfect spiritual law, the Ten Commandments. Rom 7:14. The Sabbath, the Lord's Day Jesus created in a perfect, sinless world on the seventh Day of creation, is never called a shadow in Scripture.
Only the new moon meat & drink offering ceremonial sacrificial sabbath ORDINANCES are called "shadows".
"For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect." Heb 10:1
Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world to the cross, not rules and laws or ceremonial law. Our sins are the written records, the legal charges, that are against us. So Paul said that {because all the charges are removed} no one has the right to judge us based on keeping religious laws such as eating (unclean animals), drinking, festivals (Jewish holidays) or a sabbath day (7th day rest).
Notice Paul in Colossians ch2 is speaking of ORDINANCES which were AGAINST us.
These ordinances, which included the annual new moon meat & drink offering sabbaths (Lev ch23) God ADDED because of man's transgressing, breaking, His Ten Commandments. Gal 3:19, 1 John 3:4.
These ORDINANCES all showed that all men had sinned--broken the law of God (Rom 7:22)--and needed a Savior, because the wages of sin--breaking His law--is death. Rom 6:23.
@Nirky My friend, I think you're misuse the word "ORDINANCE" in term of the feasts and taking it out of context in Colossians 2. An ordinance is a decree or a law set forth. A guilty verdict is an ordinance that set against the criminal. You said, "These ordinances, which included the annual new moon.." that are against us. Show me how these festivals are against us.
The annual new moon meat & drink ORDINANCES of the book of the law (Gal 3:10) like Passover (Ex 12:43) & Feast of Unleavened Bread (Ex 12:17) can be found in Leviticus ch 23.
These annual ordinances with their ceremonial sacrifices & offerings were shadows of good things to come (Col 2:17, Heb 10:1), but could not wash away our sin.
These ordinances were a constant reminder that we were still in our sin, under the curse of death, and desperately needed a Savior:
"But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins." Heb 10:3-4.
When Jesus died for our sins, He nailed those ordinances which were against us to His Cross, triumphing over the devil (Col 2:15), who had the power of death (Heb 2:14).
@Nirky What? "These ordinances were a constant reminder that we were still in our sin" tells me nothing that the ordinances were against us. Animal sacrifices {shadow of Christ's sacrifice} were not against us; they were for us. The ordinances that set forth against us are the charges--the verdict guilty {the penalty of our sin, you said, "curse of death"} for being disobedience to God and breaking his law. Christ took this punishment upon himself; therefore, nullify the ordiances against us.
"But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins." Heb 10:3-4.
Sacrifices, but yet their sin remained.
Every time an animal was sacrificed or a meat or drink offering was given, it was a solemn reminder that until Christ would come and sacrifice Himself, the people were still in their sins, they were living under a curse of DEATH (Rom 6:23, Gal 3:13) for breaking God's law.
Death via sin is against us. Eph 2:12-13. This is shown by the constant reminders of the sacrificial ceremonial system of ORDINANCES (Lev 23, Col 2:14, Eph 2:15, Heb 10:3-4), telling us the blood of bulls and goats CANNOT atone for our sins, only Jesus could pay the penalty of our sin by His death.
I believe we ought to let His word be our authority, not our own often-faulty human reasoning.
"Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross." Col 2:14
"Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances." Eph 2:15
@Nirky The NKJV renders dogma as requirements, a justifiable translation. The phrase handwriting of requirements, begs an explanation. Its meaning is a written statement of obligations much like a traffic citation, which lists the laws that its recipient broke. Thus, it's a record of wrongdoing. We can verify this by seeing that the clause in which it appears restates the one just before it: having forgiven you all trespasses. The sacrifice of Yahshua wiped out all record of their guilt.Peace!
These new moon meat & drink sacrificial offering ordinances (Col 2:14, 16) Paul is referring to which were nailed to His Cross were from the book of the law and were a witness AGAINST us (Deut 31:26).
These laws were AGAINST US because they showed us GUILTY of sin and since we had no sacrifice for our sin, we were all due for the full wrath of God--punishment and eternal death (Rom 6:23).
@Nirky I will state it again, the law is against us because of our sinful behavior, period. Here is what all the law is intended for in the bible. See Galatians 3:22-25 the law is a schoolmaster to bring sinners to the messiah. Here are some statements from Paul after the death of Yahshua concerning feasts- See I Corinthians 5:7-8, 16:8, Acts 18:21. Also, your teaching is in conflict with the prophets who refer to the feasts in the future-Isaiah 66:23 & Zechariah 14:16-19. New moons & Feasts!
Now that the real substance, the Lamb of God, Jesus, who has come and died a sacrificial death in our place for our sin, those commandments contained in ordinances by their very nature are now abolished (Eph 2:15), blotted out, taken out of the way (Col 2:14), because by His blood, and not the blood of goats or bulls, we now have forgiveness, justification and redemption (Eph 1:7).
@Nirky Paul defines what this "law of commandments contained in ordinances" is; it is "the enmity"—which he mentions twice (verses 15-16)—between Jews and Gentiles (see verses 11-12). He also calls it "the middle wall of division" in verse 14. Whatever "the law of commandments contained in ordinances" is, it causes hatred and division. This rules out right away that it refers to Yah's law or the law of Moses, for Paul writes in Romans 7:12, the law is holy, & the commandment holy & just & good.
These temporary ceremonial sacrificial laws pointed forward to deliverance from sin in Christ. Paul says now that we have Jesus's sacrifice for sin, let nobody who still keeps those new moon meat & drink offering sabbaths (Leviticus ch23, Col 2:16) judge you; that is, don't let them influence you when they say "if you want to obey God you should still be keeping these ORDINANCES He gave us" for you know what those ordinances were pointing to and WHY they were abolished.
@Nirky You are missing the point because you are disregarding who the audience is. The believers were being influenced by pagans, heathens & their beliefs. Pauls letter was to encourage these believers, letting them know that the Law is good (I Timothy 1:8-11). Let nobody keep those things are your words, see (Matthew 5:17-19). Please be advised that the Most High didn't give us anything that was against us. Our sinful nature put us in conflict with the word of Yah & this is why it was against.
Even if we refuse to believe because it is not convenient, Paul plainly writes the shadowy new moon meat & drink offering ordinances themselves were against us, contrary to us, enmity, because they ceremonially represented the curse of death by sin--breaking His Ten Commandments.
Paul twice here contradicts your last statement, and your ideas concerning the abolished new moon meat & drink offering ordinances.
We need to ask in ourselves, how important is a "saith the Lord" to us? Will we refuse Him and yet desire to follow our own way, even after we see His plain words? Or will we have the faith to believe Him, and follow?
Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (Gal 3:13) by sacrificing Himself, giving us life by His death, thus abolishing the commandments contained in ORDINANCES. Col 2:14, Eph 2:15.
@Nirky You said Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law (A) and abolishing the commandments contained in ORDINANCES (B). So A and B is your answer. Is this correct?
Death via sin is against us. Eph 2:12-13. This is shown by the constant reminders of the sacrificial ceremonial system of ORDINANCES (Lev 23, Col 2:14, Eph 2:15, Heb 10:3-4), telling us the blood of bulls and goats CANNOT atone for our sins, only Jesus could pay the penalty of our sin by His death.
That is why Jesus was made a curse for us by taking upon Himself the sin of the world, and dying in our stead, that we not have the curse of the law upon us--eternal death through sin. Gal 3:13, Rom 6:23.
These ORDINANCES God commanded Israel to perform were to last "till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made." Gal 3:19, until Christ would sacrifice Himself for our sin.
"Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ORDINANCES" Eph 2:15.
These ordinances were to last until His death, therefore Paul says let no man judge you for not keeping those abolished ordinances which pointed to deliverance from sin in Jesus, because now we have that real substance, His atoning death for our curse of death due to sin, our breaking His Ten Commandments.
@Nirky My friend, Eph. 2:15 talks about the unity of Jews and Gentiles as one (v. 14). He accomplished this by putting an end to the hatre between Jews toward Gentiles and the commandments that are unique to the Jew, which made them different from the Gentiles. So why today there is still enmity between us? You still observe the OT law, which Christ had abolished. Keeping the sabbath is one of them; eating clean meats is also another one.
In Ephesians ch2 Paul compares the abolition of the ordinances which were against us (Col 2:14, Eph 2:15) and His atoning sacrifice to the salvation of Gentiles, which also had no hope (v12) .
Those ordinances showed us under the curse of the law--death through sin (v5)--leaving ALL with no hope (v12). Now through Christ's blood have BOTH been brought close, "That he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby." (v16).
yea man the law and the commandment Jesus died for Gal 3 13 says Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us, cursed is them that hang on the tree ,that the blessing of abraham might come on the gentiles through christ
Hi, Paul in Galatians ch3 is not talking about God's Ten Commandments, but rather the law he is explaining about is from the BOOK OF THE LAW (v10), the law ceremonial law which Moses wrote, and included the ordinance of CIIRCUMCISION:
"Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the FLESH?" Gal 3:3
Evil men had crept in the church, and promoted circumcision, which taught them to rely on themselves for righteousness instead of faith in Christ.
@Nirky all in the same that curse that the the law and ordainance were all put on Jesus, and the very curse of not keeping the 10 commandment and ordainces.which no man could keep any ways, there had to be blood , Hebres 9, and chapter 10 talk about that, , we are circumcied of the the heart made without hands the bible tell us. we are new creations in Christ Jesus 2cor 5:17
The curse was in the ceremonial ordinances, because they showed we were still in our sin until Jesus died, paying the penalty of our sin, of our breaking His Commandments.
In other words, the curse was due to our BREAKING of His Commandments:
"And a curse, if ye will not obey the Commandments of the LORD your God". Deut 11:28.
The ceremonial ORDINANCES in the book of the law (Gal 3:10), with their meat & drink & animal offerings, added because of transgressions (Gal 3:19), were a continual reminder that we needed a Savior.
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us." Gal 3:13
The ceremonial law pointed forward to deliverance from the curse of the law--which was DEATH due to sin.
Notice the cursing is breaking His Commandments, it is a BLESSING to obey His Commandments!:
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
Honour thy father and mother; which is the first COMMANDMENT with promise;
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." Eph 6:1-3
"BLESSED are they that do his COMMANDMENTS, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city." Rev 22:14
@Nirky well no man when moses was given the comantment could keep them perfectly that is what the goats and lambs were for to cover untill Jesus came, but then look in 1 John it says a new commandment i give to you, that you belive on or in the Lord Jesus christ and Love one another, you can't keep part of the law and not the rest , Jesus never intended us to live that way we are free to Live for Him because he redeemed us back to Him , now the love commandment:
Actually the commandment to love God with all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves is not new, that has been purpose of Jesus' law of love from the beginning:
"You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength." Deut 6:5
"You shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD." Lev 19:18
God is LOVE (1 John 4:8), and His law is a law of love.
"If you love Me, keep My Commandments." John 14:15
"For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law." Romans 13:9
Paul tells us Jesus' law is a law of love, and His Commandments sum up as LOVE.
@Nirky , the law was given by moses but grace and truth were by Jesus Christ, we are not under the law but under Grace , Read romans 3, 4, 5, gal 1234all these sriptures tell us that when Jesus paid the price so we all are free to follow the word and Jesus freely he gave his life, we are no longer under the law but under grace , no man by keeping the law is justified it says in roman 3:21- end, The law came to bring us to Christ but after we are in Christ !!!!!
God gave His law, the Ten Commandments, to His people. There is one LAWGIVER--Jesus. Isa 33:22, James 4:12. He spoke them AUDIBLY to all the congregation (Exodus ch20) and wrote them with His own finger. Ex 31:18.
The law of Moses, the book of the law, Moses wrote on paper at God's dictation. Deut 31:9
Thanks for your one scripture--Rom 3:21. "Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." Rom 3:20
I agree with you here, the function of God's law is NOT to justify us, we are only justified by FAITH in Christ. Rom ch4. Rather, God's law tells us what constitutes SIN, because "sin is transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4.
"On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” Rom 7:7
"You shall not covet" is the 7th Commandment, the Ten Commandments is the law which defines what constitutes sin. The Ten are "the law of God" (Rom 7:22), God's spiritual law. Rom 7:14.
Thank God we are no longer under law but under grace! Do you know what scripture says being under grace means? I know you want it to mean not keeping the Ten Commandments, but Paul tells us the OPPOSITE:
"What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!" Rom 6:15
Read all of Romans ch6 to find out why Paul says all who are under grace keep the Ten Commandments. I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. God bless.
"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." 1 John 5:3
Contrary to what is popularly taught today, God's Ten Commandments are NOT grievous, both Paul & John affirm the opposite, they sum up as LOVE, the first 4 as loving God, the last 6 as loving our neighbor.
We cannot break one of the Ten and claim in doing so we are showing love--I cannot lie to my neighbor and claim I am loving him as myself.
@Nirky the more the attacks come on the Character of God (The TEN Comm.) the more it confirms and strengthens my faith in needing to obey them with his help and the Grace he has shown me.
Nirky: the Love command ment we have , we have the Holy Spirit inside us to do the things God said to do , because of Christ we are free from keeping them ordainces that were against us, free to live for God through the power of the Holy Spirit ,
Some brothers are seriously confused if in fact they are Brothers. The LAW is Good and Righteous and Holy and Moral, but it cannot save Sinners. The LAW is righteous therefore it condemns the Unrighteous which we were before GRACE. GRACE has saved US from the Righteous Judgement of the LAW. Glory and Honor be to the LORD Jesus Christ who is our Savior from the LAW which condemns ALL. Choose Judgement (LAW) or choose Salvation (GRACE)
@Nirky actually, God's judgment is based on1. truth (romans 2:2) 2.our deeds (romans 2: 6-11) and 3.the amount of light or teaching that person has received (romans 2: 12-15). I'm sorry but I refuse to believe that God will judge me and the millions of other born again Christians for going to His house on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday or any other week day, to praise and worship HIM, with the right attitude and not on Saturday.
I also believe by His word that God judges by hearts, how we respond to truth we are exposed to. His mercy & love is poured out on us abundantly! But if we are His, we are also convicted by the Spirit:
"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment." John 16:8
"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent." Acts 17:30
@dovaje Amen Brother, Therefore there is no more Condemnation to those in Christ Jesus. Christ died for us when we were Dead in Sin. With the Spirit of God now living in each Believer we have power over the Dominion of Sin because there is no more Death and no Grave which will keep us from Rising Again.. We no longer walk according to the flesh serving Sin which is still at work in our flesh, but walk after the Spirit which is abundant life and a clear conscience towards God
"For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." Rom 8:3-4
The law was weak because of the flesh, that is, weak through our own weak human nature. But Jesus came in our own likeness, having the exact same weak sinful human nature (v3), with it's inclination towards satisfying self, and He conquered that nature--condemned sin in the flesh--by showing we CAN, by the same power of His spirit, fulfill the righteous requirement of the law in our walk (v4)!
Therefore, there is no condemnation for those in Christ; and with Jesus inside ("Christ in you, the hope of glory." Col 1:27) us by His Spirit we actually do fulfill the righteous requirement of His law!
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Phil 4:13
"Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’
And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ Matt 25:27-40
4- Finally, Paul himself observed the feast days (Acts 18:21) and told gentiles to do the same (1 Cor. 5:6-8). Nor Paul nor the Bible contradict themselves at any moment. Why isn't it enough for you when Yeshua himself said from his very own mouth that nothing of the law was going to be "blotted out"? (Mat. 15:17-18)
3 - Paul was telling the faithful not to let these philosophers judge them for observing the festivals! Observing the festivals was righteous unto GOd. Therefore let no one judge you for keeping them! Fifth, Paul once again says LET NO MAN in 2:18 refering to the same philosophers, that these are carnal minded. They don't know Torah, they worship angels and they can cause the faithful to lose out on their rewards. The festivals ARE a shadow of things to come. There is more revelation!
...2- Paul, was exhorting these faithful to keep the truth and not fall for the philosophies. Third Paul said that the work of the cross cancel all decree of sentencing aginst believers, never that it canceled the law! Fourth, "let NO MAN" in 2:16 refers to those philosophers! These philosophers were judging the faithful. Why? Cause the faithful were keeping Torah! They were observing sabbaths, and holy days, meat and drink instructions of these appointed times!...
1- Whoa! Let's begin with Colossians. You have the understanding completely backwards! You isolated passages and gave them personal meanings. Let's keep the context, shall we? First, Paul is writing to Gentiles. What kind of gentiles? Faithful believers of the Torah (1:2,5,6,9,23). Remember, there was no"new testament" book at the time of writing. 2-What was the prob? They lived amidst gentiles who were corrupting TOrah with man-made traditions and philosophies (2:4,8). ....
@Colthrone I do not know from where you get the idea that they where faithful believers of the torah. Verse 5 and 6 clearly state that they had faith and love, brought forth from the hope that is in the gospel that they had heard from Epaphras.
Let us be clear, the law shows what we are without grace, it reveals our transgressions, but, when we come to Christ, having seen WHY we are trangressors, and we accept the work of the cross in our lives, at that point, the law becomes dead. Why? Because we have accepted the atonement of the perfect sacrifice, that means, we no longer live under it's rigors of judgment, our judgment by the law has been thus communicated by the blood of Christ. Again, when we are born again, the law ends.
Cry out to the Lord and He shall save you from your sins. He shall give you true repentance whereby you'll abhor sin as God does. Know ye not that it is God that leadeth thee in Repentance (Romans 2:4) You will love righteousness as God loves righteousness. He that has the Spirit of Christ is no longer under the Law because the Law is for the unrighteous who transgress the Law without repentance, without Fear of God because they love to transgress the Law and teach others to do the same.
The "handwriting of ordinances" is the word "cheirographon" - it is "a note of hand or writing in which one acknowledges that money has either been deposited with him or lent to him by another, to be returned at the appointed time"..i.e., it is our note of debt (for which we could never pay) that was against us. THIS, our debt and the record of it, was taken out of the way, nailed to the cross. This is even clearer by the verse preceding which says, "having forgiven you all *trespasses*" vs. 13.
We ought to let scripture be our interpreter, and not rely on our own ideas.
"The handwriting of ordinances" (Col 2:14) is...the handwriting of ordinances! What ordinances? Paul lists some of those ordinances in the next several verses:
"Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ." Col 2:16
@Nirky I was with you all through this video up until you came to part 2, when you started talking about keeping the sabbath. Because you yourself quote col 2:15 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days" So why still ponder on the sabbath, or condemn anyone that doesn't keep it? If you or anyone else wants to keep it, fine. If not, that's fine too. That is written there and you quoted it yourself.
I thought TheForerunner777 made it clear from scripture that God's Commandments, His Ten Commandments, including His 4th Commandment, are separate from the ORDINANCES (Col 2:14) of new moon meat & drink ceremonial annual sabbaths which is Paul's subject and point in Col ch2, which ORDINANCES of ceremonial holy day sabbaths are found in Leviticus 23.
"Having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ORDINANCES..." Eph 2:15.
If you read your NT, you will quickly see the Ten Commandments still do their job, not to justify or save us, but rather to point out what constitutes SIN:
"Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." Rom 3:20
"Now if you do not commit adultery, but you do murder, you have become a transgressor of the law." James 2:11
Transgressing the law of God, His Ten Commandments (Rom 7:22), is SIN. 1 John 3:4.
Paul is talking about "ordinances" involving new moon meat & drink offering holyday sabbaths, and Paul also calls these "shadows". We can find these new moon meat & drink holyday sabbaths in Leviticus chapter 23. Passover, Unleavened Bread and the rest of the annual holydays, these ceremonial laws are all "ordinances" and involve meat & drink offerings and new moon timing,
These ceremonial annual holy days (Heb 10:1) from the book of the law Paul also says were SHADOWS of good things to come, picturing deliverance from sin by Christ's perfect one-time sacrifice. Now that we have the real substance, Christ and His sacrifice for our transgressing His Ten Commandments, let nobody judge you for not keeping shadows. Col 2:16.
@Nirky Paul did not say these "were" shadows, he said they ARE a shadow...still here, pointing to Christ. Not all have been fulfilled.
It also does not say anything in there about "not keeping" them.
"And you, being dead in your *trespasses*...He has made alive together with Him, having *forgiven you all trespasses*, having *wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us*, which was contrary to us. And He has taken *it* out of the way, having nailed it to the cross."
The law, as Paul stated, was our schoolmaster until the cross, since the cross, we no longer need the law. So how do we keep the sabbath? We keep it in Jesus Christ. The sabbath was a time of rest, it was a symbolic representation of the coming Christ, so when Christ came, died and rose again, he fulfilled the law, so we could abide in him. So, we do not keep the sabbath in respect of a day, but we keep it perfectly in Christ. End of story.
Paul tells us the ceremonial law--the book of the law (Gal 3:10)--was our schoolmaster. Gal 3:10.
That shadowy law with it's ceremonial ordinances of washings, offerings, sacrifices, and annual sabbaths pictured deliverance from sin in the Person of Jesus. Col 2:14-17 It was added because of transgressions--sin--breaking God's preexisting law. 1 Jn 3:4, Gal 3:19.
Now we have the real substance, Christ, that's why the ceremonial law was "till the Seed should come". Gal 3:19.
@Nirky Nice try, doesn't work. I am free from the mosiac law, I keep the commandments perfectly in Christ through the holy spirit. I don't try to obey the law, because as Paul said, offend one aspect of the law, you offend it all. So, I'll walk perfectly in Christ. Remember, the law was about "doing" for your righteousness, now we have the cross, which is simply about "believing" that's it. So, while people try to justify themselves by the law, I am justified by Christ and his grace.
"Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." Rom 3:20
Paul says the function of God's law is to tell us what constitutes "sin". The apostle John says the same thing--"Sin is transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4. The law of Moses does not define what constitutes "sin".
What law do Paul & John tell us the transgression of constitutes "sin"?
"I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” Rom 7:7 "You shall not covet" is transgression of the Ten Commandments, God's spiritual law. Rom 7:14.
@voiceofelijah2012 Paul only had the authority to do as Acts 15-20 allowed. Much of what has been "misinterpreted" in Paul's letters fail to make the distinction between G-d's laws (10 Commandments and Laws of Noah) and the 613 Mitzvot (ordinances). Note in Acts that the PHARISEES IN THE NAZARENE MOVEMENT insisted that these be required ie. circumcision. James, Peter and John came to a compromise for the gentiles "As was done in Moses time on the Sabbath day". No Sabbath - no come to G-d.
We are Sons of God not by our love or strength or spirit but by the Love of God who has quickened our dead spirit by the regeneration of the Holy Spirit whereby we cry Abba, Father. We now love God in His Strength, we serve God by His Spirit and not by our carnal attempts to fullfill the Holy and Righteous demands of Gods Law. Christ Jesus fullfilled that requirement and now with his Spirit we love our neighbor which is the fullfillment of the Whole Law (Mark 12:28-31)
Watch how easily this idea that we are to keep the Law for righteousness is revealed as a lie. The very first commandment condemns all men. Deut 6:5 Love the Lord thy God with all thine heart and soul and strength, This 1st Law condemns all men because all have sinned the bible says and falls short of the Glory of God We have not loved God 1Jn 4:10, but God has loved us and filled our hearts with the Love for Him Romans 5:5 We now love God because we have His Holy Spirit working in us
There was trouble in the church of Galatia. That church once had the hearing of faith and so obeyed Jesus, but somewhere along the line certain men crept in, insisting on returning to some of ceremonial law in the book of the law, mainly CIRCUMCISION (Gal 2:3-5, Gal 3:3).
When the church was turned to relying on circumcision IN PLACE OF FAITH IN CHRIST'S RIGHTEOUSNESS, the hearing of faith stopped. Why? They thought of themselves as righteous by their own works of circumcision, the works of the law. But self-justification is simply a curse:
"For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." Gal 3:10
When we rely on law for righteousness, we will eventually will be satisfied with our own righteousness, and over time will not realize the need for Jesus' righteousness.
The Galatians came to not see the need to kill the old man of sin daily (Rom 6:6, 1 Cor 15:31) and instead rely on His grace to overcome sin (Rom 6:14), because, hey, they were circumcised and kept festivals, they saw that as being sufficient to God would reckon them righteous by those works.
"You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love." Gal 5:4-6
We can do nothing to justify ourselves, not in keeping the ceremonial law or by keeping His Ten Commandments, the law of God (Rom 7:22). Only faith in Christ justifies.
@Nirky Amen. Ephesians 2:8,9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works (keeping of the law), so that no one can boast. (like the pharisees used to do). Faith in Christ and Christ alone is enough to safe us from sin and get us right before God.
It is written to keep the sabbath and to circumsize, paul says it’s not necessary Romans 2:26
the bible is just a collection of books put together by a corrupt roman emperor called constantine...howcan someone who hold's the sabbath day sacred still believe in apostle Paul who tells people not to worry about observing the sabbath day. Paul is the main reason people break the sabbath. Wake up before it’s too late!!!
"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7, Rom 10:15
@Nirky It is written to keep the sabbath and to circumsize, paul says it’s not necessary Romans 2:26

so at some point something was to be fulfiled and then the law would come to an end. what happened in history that changed heaven and earth. Jesus was the fulfilment of the law, right? all was fulfilled at calvery when Christ said, It is finished.
That would make perfect sense if the Sabbath was made only for the Jews--it isn't, it was made for MAN, see Mark 2:27--and it were on the first day of the week--it isn't, it's the seventh day of the week.
"Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb." Matt 28:1
@Nirky My comment should have read: The first Christians were all Jews. They kept the Sabbath because they were Jews. They met as Christians on the first day of the week because they were Jews and were required to keep the Sabbath. Simple.
God at no time required the rest of the world to keep the Sabbath
I think you mean seventh day of the week, that is the Sabbath, the 4th Commandment. Ex 20:8-10
Jesus says He made the Sabbath for MAN. Mark 2:27. This is why NOWHERE will you see the phrase "Sabbath of the Jews" or "Jewish Sabbath" in His word. Jesus made it for ALL MANKIND. This is why the Early Christian Church, which consisted of BOTH Jews & Gentiles, kept the 4th commandment. Acts 13:14, Acts 13:42, Acts 13:44, Acts 16:13, Acts 17:2, Acts 18:4.
@Nirky No, as Christians they met on the first day. Acts 20:7, 1Cor 16:2
Your quote of Acts 13:14 has nothing to do with Christians gathering together. Paul went regularly in the synagogues to persuade Jews first in accordance with the great commission. None of the early church met on the Jewish sabbath. Find one instance. Just one. Paul preaching in a synagogue doesn't count.
"And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither." Acts 16:13
Paul kept EVERY Sabbath, by his custom preaching, whether it be in a synagogue or by the riverside of Philippi, a gentile city.
@Nirky Acts 16:13 is not an example of the church keeping the Sabbath. Mark 2:27 Jesus was rebuking the Pharisees claim He and they were being unlawful on the sabbath. For you to try and twist that scripture into claiming Sabbath keeping was a law given to all men is rediculous. If God wanted all humantity to come under the Law, He wouldn't have given the Law to only one race. Paul wanting to sit and pray on the Sabbath is not affirming Sabbath law one little bit. Your apologetics is very poor.
The Sabbath, the Lord's Day (Mark 2:28, Rev 1:10.), was made by the Lord Jesus in a perfect & newly created world, and will also be kept in the new earth. Isaiah 66:23.
"The Sabbath was made for MAN, and not man for the Sabbath." Mark 2:27 It is clear--God made the 7th day Sabbath for all mankind. This is why it is NEVER called "the Sabbath of the Jews" or the "Jewish Sabbath".
Paul, the apostle to the gentiles, comes to the gentile city of Philippi, along with his gospel-spreading companions, and is simply doing what scripture expressly tells us he does EVERY Sabbath, looking for ways to preach the Gospel. In Acts 16 he is looking for opportunities to discuss spiritual matters with certain local gentiles, because he found out that at that riverside location, prayers were customarily made. Acts 16:13.
Now he could have preached to the gentile city of Philippi on the second day of the week, or the fifth, or on the first, but the Holy Spirit through scripture tells us, over and over, even in a gentile city, that Paul preaches ON THE SABBATH. Hmmm. Do you think the Holy Spirit is trying to tell us something, pleading even?
@Nirky From this you discern that the Holy Spirit is "pleading" for us to keep the Sabbath. This is not theology but defective thinking. Your understand is scewiff because your trying your best to instigate a law where there is no law. We're not under the law. For you to emotionalise it as something the Holy Spirit is pleading with us about, "over and over again", is a fallacy you promote. Paul didn't just pray, preach, and fellowship on the Sabbath, but when he did you claim it. as proof. Bye!
The Holy Spirit showing Paul preaching the Gospel on the Sabbath in a gentile city with not a synagogue in sight is simply the evidence of Sabbath keeping you demanded. I'm sorry you did not like the answer.
You wrote "trying your best to instigate a law where there is no law" but the purpose of God's law isn't to justify nor save, but rather to reveal what is sin:
"Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." Rom 3:20
His Ten Commandments define what constitutes sin, because sin is transgression of the law. 1 John 3:4.
"What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.” Romans 7:7
It is sin to break ANY of His commandments. The purpose of God's law is to show us what is our sin, and drive us to His Cross for forgiveness and justification.
Btw, Acts 20:7 is the only mention of a religious meeting on the first day of the week. Of course, this does not make the day sacred or sanctified, and there is no teaching anywhere in scripture regarding Sunday sanctity.
The only day we Jesus tells us is special, blessed, sanctified, and holy, is the seventh day, the memorial of both His creation & redemption, is the Sabbath, the Lord's Day. Mark 2:27-28, Rev 1:10. See also Gen chapters 1 & 2, Hebrews 4:1-11.
Thanks Forerunner, I don't see why you need a 2 part video to explain your views on this. It seems rather plain and straight forward to me. Instead of 2 videos, I'll just share 2 scriptures.
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

@queenjahh
Nirky 2 months ago
@queenjahh
Nirky 2 months ago
@queenjahh

GodIsSovereignty 3 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
God bless.
Nirky 3 months ago 2
@Nirky You're mistaken. Jesus never claim Saturday to be his day. The Scripture says all sabbath days are shadow. The Christians' sabbath day is eternal. The sabbath day is of a promise (Hebrews 4:1), not a command to keep.
GodIsSovereignty 3 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty

GodIsSovereignty 3 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty

Peace!

artmyersyp 3 months ago
@artmyersyp Your scriptural verses prove nothing that we must keep the Sabbath. Col. 2:14-17 says the Sabbath is a mere shadow. "Lord of the Sabbath" is not ownership such as Lord's Day. "Lord of the Sabbath" refers to Christ authority over the Sabbath or greater than the sabbath.
GodIsSovereignty 3 months ago

Nirky 3 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 3 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 3 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty

@artmyersyp What explaination?
GodIsSovereignty 3 months ago
Jesus took upon Himself the sins of the world to the cross, not rules and laws or ceremonial law. Our sins are the written records, the legal charges, that are against us. So Paul said that {because all the charges are removed} no one has the right to judge us based on keeping religious laws such as eating (unclean animals), drinking, festivals (Jewish holidays) or a sabbath day (7th day rest).
GodIsSovereignty 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Rom 6:23.
Nirky 6 months ago 2
@Nirky My friend, I think you're misuse the word "ORDINANCE" in term of the feasts and taking it out of context in Colossians 2. An ordinance is a decree or a law set forth. A guilty verdict is an ordinance that set against the criminal. You said, "These ordinances, which included the annual new moon.." that are against us. Show me how these festivals are against us.
GodIsSovereignty 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty

GodIsSovereignty 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 6 months ago 2
@Nirky Maybe I should put it in this way.
Multiple choice. Which of the following is against us?
A. The curse of DEATH;
B. The sacrifices, meat, or drink offering.
C. A and B
D. None of the above.
GodIsSovereignty 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 6 months ago
@Nirky So "Death via sin is against us". Therefore, it's not the ordinances of the sacrifical system of the OT.
GodIsSovereignty 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 6 months ago 2

Nirky 4 months ago 2
@Nirky I will state it again, the law is against us because of our sinful behavior, period. Here is what all the law is intended for in the bible. See Galatians 3:22-25 the law is a schoolmaster to bring sinners to the messiah. Here are some statements from Paul after the death of Yahshua concerning feasts- See I Corinthians 5:7-8, 16:8, Acts 18:21. Also, your teaching is in conflict with the prophets who refer to the feasts in the future-Isaiah 66:23 & Zechariah 14:16-19. New moons & Feasts!
Thebibleconsultant 4 months ago
@Thebibleconsultant
Nirky 4 months ago 2
@Nirky Paul defines what this "law of commandments contained in ordinances" is; it is "the enmity"—which he mentions twice (verses 15-16)—between Jews and Gentiles (see verses 11-12). He also calls it "the middle wall of division" in verse 14. Whatever "the law of commandments contained in ordinances" is, it causes hatred and division. This rules out right away that it refers to Yah's law or the law of Moses, for Paul writes in Romans 7:12, the law is holy, & the commandment holy & just & good.
Thebibleconsultant 4 months ago
@Thebibleconsultant
Nirky 4 months ago 2
@Nirky You are missing the point because you are disregarding who the audience is. The believers were being influenced by pagans, heathens & their beliefs. Pauls letter was to encourage these believers, letting them know that the Law is good (I Timothy 1:8-11). Let nobody keep those things are your words, see (Matthew 5:17-19). Please be advised that the Most High didn't give us anything that was against us. Our sinful nature put us in conflict with the word of Yah & this is why it was against.
Thebibleconsultant 4 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Even if we refuse to believe because it is not convenient, Paul plainly writes the shadowy new moon meat & drink offering ordinances themselves were against us, contrary to us, enmity, because they ceremonially represented the curse of death by sin--breaking His Ten Commandments.
Nirky 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 6 months ago 3
@GodIsSovereignty
Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (Gal 3:13) by sacrificing Himself, giving us life by His death, thus abolishing the commandments contained in ORDINANCES. Col 2:14, Eph 2:15.
Nirky 6 months ago
@Nirky You said Jesus redeemed us from the curse of the law (A) and abolishing the commandments contained in ORDINANCES (B). So A and B is your answer. Is this correct?
GodIsSovereignty 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
My previous post which you must have missed:
Death via sin is against us. Eph 2:12-13. This is shown by the constant reminders of the sacrificial ceremonial system of ORDINANCES (Lev 23, Col 2:14, Eph 2:15, Heb 10:3-4), telling us the blood of bulls and goats CANNOT atone for our sins, only Jesus could pay the penalty of our sin by His death.
Nirky 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 6 months ago 2
@GodIsSovereignty
Nirky 6 months ago 2
@Nirky My friend, Eph. 2:15 talks about the unity of Jews and Gentiles as one (v. 14). He accomplished this by putting an end to the hatre between Jews toward Gentiles and the commandments that are unique to the Jew, which made them different from the Gentiles. So why today there is still enmity between us? You still observe the OT law, which Christ had abolished. Keeping the sabbath is one of them; eating clean meats is also another one.
GodIsSovereignty 6 months ago
@GodIsSovereignty

@Nirky all in the same that curse that the the law and ordainance were all put on Jesus, and the very curse of not keeping the 10 commandment and ordainces.which no man could keep any ways, there had to be blood , Hebres 9, and chapter 10 talk about that, , we are circumcied of the the heart made without hands the bible tell us. we are new creations in Christ Jesus 2cor 5:17
blessedwithoutmeasur 7 months ago
@blessedwithoutmeasur
Deut 11:28.
Nirky 7 months ago 2
@blessedwithoutmeasur

Honour thy father and mother; which is the first COMMANDMENT with promise;
That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." Eph 6:1-3

JesusNonEnviromental 7 months ago

We are saved ONLY by His grace (Eph 2:8, 2 Tim 1:9) and judged ONLY by our works (Matt 16:27, 1 Pet 1:17)
Our works show if our response to His grace was genuine or not.
Nirky 7 months ago 2
@Nirky actually, God's judgment is based on1. truth (romans 2:2) 2.our deeds (romans 2: 6-11) and 3.the amount of light or teaching that person has received (romans 2: 12-15). I'm sorry but I refuse to believe that God will judge me and the millions of other born again Christians for going to His house on Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday or any other week day, to praise and worship HIM, with the right attitude and not on Saturday.

"But we know that the judgment of God is according to truth" Rom 2:2
God's judgement of our works (Matt 16:27, 1 Pet 1:17) is ACCORDING to truth, which is Jesus (John 14:6) & His scripture, His words (John 17:17).
Nirky 7 months ago

I also believe by His word that God judges by hearts, how we respond to truth we are exposed to. His mercy & love is poured out on us abundantly! But if we are His, we are also convicted by the Spirit:
"And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment." John 16:8
"And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent." Acts 17:30

(Mat. 15:17-18)
Colthrone 7 months ago
3 - Paul was telling the faithful not to let these philosophers judge them for observing the festivals! Observing the festivals was righteous unto GOd. Therefore let no one judge you for keeping them! Fifth, Paul once again says LET NO MAN in 2:18 refering to the same philosophers, that these are carnal minded. They don't know Torah, they worship angels and they can cause the faithful to lose out on their rewards. The festivals ARE a shadow of things to come. There is more revelation!
Colthrone 7 months ago
...2- Paul, was exhorting these faithful to keep the truth and not fall for the philosophies.
Colthrone 7 months ago
They lived amidst gentiles who were corrupting TOrah with man-made traditions and philosophies (2:4,8). ....
Colthrone 7 months ago

Jimvesterstallone 7 months ago
@Jimvesterstallone
Nirky 7 months ago
@Nirky I'm sorry if I came across unclear. That was Strong's definition of the word that I quoted, not my own idea.
Jimvesterstallone 7 months ago
@Nirky I was with you all through this video up until you came to part 2, when you started talking about keeping the sabbath. Because you yourself quote col 2:15 "Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days" So why still ponder on the sabbath, or condemn anyone that doesn't keep it? If you or anyone else wants to keep it, fine. If not, that's fine too. That is written there and you quoted it yourself.
dovaje 7 months ago
@dovaje
Nirky 7 months ago
@dovaje
1 John 3:4.
Nirky 7 months ago
@Jimvesterstallone
Paul is talking about "ordinances" involving new moon meat & drink offering holyday sabbaths, and Paul also calls these "shadows". We can find these new moon meat & drink holyday sabbaths in Leviticus chapter 23. Passover, Unleavened Bread and the rest of the annual holydays, these ceremonial laws are all "ordinances" and involve meat & drink offerings and new moon timing,
Nirky 7 months ago
@Jimvesterstallone
Col 2:16.
Nirky 7 months ago 2

End of story.
voiceofelijah2012 7 months ago
@voiceofelijah2012
Gal 3:19.
Nirky 7 months ago
@Nirky Nice try, doesn't work. I am free from the mosiac law, I keep the commandments perfectly in Christ through the holy spirit. I don't try to obey the law, because as Paul said, offend one aspect of the law, you offend it all. So, I'll walk perfectly in Christ. Remember, the law was about "doing" for your righteousness, now we have the cross, which is simply about "believing" that's it. So, while people try to justify themselves by the law, I am justified by Christ and his grace.
voiceofelijah2012 7 months ago
@voiceofelijah2012
It is not the function of any law to justify.

Nirky 7 months ago
@JesusNonEnviromental

@JesusNonEnviromental

@JesusNonEnviromental

@Nirky Amen Nirky, I hope you understood by my statement that I wasn't talking about keeping the Law God bless.
JesusNonEnviromental 7 months ago

Wake up before it’s too late!!!

so at some point something was to be fulfiled and then the law would come to an end. what happened in history that changed heaven and earth. Jesus was the fulfilment of the law, right? all was fulfilled at calvery when Christ said, It is finished.

That's why His law is eternal. His law of love is a reflection of His character, LOVE!

See also Gen 2:2-3, Ex 20:8-10
Nirky 1 year ago
@Nirky My comment should have read: The first Christians were all Jews. They kept the Sabbath because they were Jews. They met as Christians on the first day of the week because they were Jews and were required to keep the Sabbath. Simple.
God at no time required the rest of the world to keep the Sabbath
MandoMohan 1 year ago
@MandoMohan
Nirky 1 year ago
@Nirky No, as Christians they met on the first day. Acts 20:7, 1Cor 16:2
Your quote of Acts 13:14 has nothing to do with Christians gathering together. Paul went regularly in the synagogues to persuade Jews first in accordance with the great commission. None of the early church met on the Jewish sabbath. Find one instance. Just one. Paul preaching in a synagogue doesn't count.

Ask and ye shall receive.
Nirky 1 year ago
@Nirky Acts 16:13 is not an example of the church keeping the Sabbath. Mark 2:27 Jesus was rebuking the Pharisees claim He and they were being unlawful on the sabbath. For you to try and twist that scripture into claiming Sabbath keeping was a law given to all men is rediculous. If God wanted all humantity to come under the Law, He wouldn't have given the Law to only one race. Paul wanting to sit and pray on the Sabbath is not affirming Sabbath law one little bit. Your apologetics is very poor.
MandoMohan 1 year ago
@MandoMohan
Nirky 1 year ago
@MandoMohan
Acts 16:13.
Nirky 1 year ago
@MandoMohan
Nirky 1 year ago
@Nirky From this you discern that the Holy Spirit is "pleading" for us to keep the Sabbath. This is not theology but defective thinking. Your understand is scewiff because your trying your best to instigate a law where there is no law. We're not under the law. For you to emotionalise it as something the Holy Spirit is pleading with us about, "over and over again", is a fallacy you promote. Paul didn't just pray, preach, and fellowship on the Sabbath, but when he did you claim it. as proof. Bye!
MandoMohan 1 year ago
@MandoMohan
The Holy Spirit showing Paul preaching the Gospel on the Sabbath in a gentile city with not a synagogue in sight is simply the evidence of Sabbath keeping you demanded. I'm sorry you did not like the answer.
Nirky 1 year ago
@MandoMohan
Nirky 1 year ago
@MandoMohan

@MandoMohan
