Anyway, a serious question. What do you think film makers do to promote their movies? PR stunts maybe?

And most don't go about it in a manner that will garner 10 grand for a charity. So what exactly is your problem with this? Do you hate charity? Or people trying to get exposure for their work?

You know, crappy movie gets reviewed and it's crappy. Surprise. If the movie is so good people should see it, why not let it stand on it's own instead of a such a cheap stunt.

it's a means of advertising an obviously independent venture and doing a little good in the process.

How much gets spent on adverts by major studios with none of the revenue going anywhere but some suit's wallet.
