I just found out today that my great great grandfather was in the 41st Mississippi Infantry under Anderson and detached to plug the gap between Cheatham and Buckner's line. Together the reinforced line drove the Union back 1 mile - Gen Terrill (US) and McCook's line folded.
This battle seemed more of a draw than a victory on either side. It just went on all day!
