  • the bass line is just orgasmic

  • Ohhhh yeeaahhh!

This is waaaaay up there on the Boomer Soundtrack!!

  • Man, the night they recorded this, March 10, 1968, was my vry first concert - I feel, honetly, SO blessed to have been there! And to still remember, yes!

  • i am 15 and i like punk rock stuff but cream is awesome just so awesome

  • One of my first songs to learn when I first started playing bass. Jack and Eric simply defined the art of a classic from one of the great blues players, Robert Johnson, who played down in the original 'Deep Ellum' in downtown Dallas.

  • clapton is one of the only musicians who actually gave respect to the guys who made it possible, the black blues singers, and hes a great man for doing that

  • The original songs is on supernatural...with the first ever introduced crossroads demon. Fitting huh? Still, my dad's band plays this and it's amazing live :D

  • Scrubs speaking, but I fucking LOVE this song.

The last pic really says it all, doesn't it?

  • he definately is a believer

  • hahaha lol I love clapton talkin about our hood.

  • 15 guys were expecting a different kind of cream

  • Boy am i glad I'm starting to listen to more classic rock!

  • Epic riff!

  • 14 guys loves only pieces of junk music. they are crazy to hate this masterpiece

  • why would anyone in their right mind call Clapton slow hand?

  • @olsnuff53 it's called Irony of Statement...

  • @olsnuff53 He used to play so hard that he would often pop the high E(thinnest string) and would restring his guitar on stage rather than change guitars. the fans would give him a slow hand clap while he restrung...

  • it just has robert johnson seeping through it..

  • Well then, i stand corrected! Thank you for sharing...the groove between Baker and Bruce is badass, warm, and nasty! Peace, Love, and Grooves!!!:)))

  • know we know where seasick steve got all his riffs from ....

  • the guitar solo in this song is rediculous #claptonsdirty

  • ahh the mystery of the legend of Robert Johnson...........revamped and amped by the British invasion of the blues.............love them both.....

  • Heyyyy, John Mayer did this song too

  • Comment removed

  • 13 ppl aint got taste. end of story.

  • @thetrippydrippy Neither taste no ability to hear.

    ;-)

  • I love how Jack Bruce introduces Eric Clapton on vocals at the end of this song.

grew up studying jazz on scholarship at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music, later

establishing himself as a blues-rock pioneer along with Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker in Cream. It took these three to lay the blueprint for jazz-rock fusion. Love the video! Peace, Love, and Grooves!!!:)))

  • @charleezbass241 I think it's Ginger Baker who says "Eric Clapton, vocal" at the end of the song. There is another 1968 video of this somewhere on YouTube.

  • More people need to hear this!

  • osama binladen died

  • "half full glass of wine" by tame impala

  • @dykstra1595 and none of that frightening metal excessiveness even comes close to tracks like this.

  • Jesus crist 2:32 XD

  • kind of upstart for blues

  • this song is badass

  • @bassistdave109

    my thoughts exactly!

  • @lootpack27 so fucking badass bud

  • such a badass intro! :)

  • To all you young kids- this is not a creme song or a clapton song, it was first recorded in 1936 by Robert Johnson, a black blues musician whom clapton idolized.

  • I agree.

    But still a kick-ass version.

One of my favorite rock tunes of all time.

    Jack rips on bass!

  • Yes, Zim, this does kick major ass, and in my top 10 off all time!

Jack is unbelievable and does not get enough credit for being one of the founding fathers of rock bass.

I only pointed out the Robert Johnson thing because people were arguing here whether it was a creme tune or a clapton tune.

  • @ramitupursnout crossroads is where it all began =D

  • @ramitupursnout 1936?? before ww2??

  • @ramitupursnout Wrong. It was written by Robert Johnson in 1937. Clapton also idolized a lot of other blues artists like Muddy Waters

  • @ramitupursnout everyone knows that

  • @ramitupursnout your right it isnt a creme song its a cream song

  • @themanchild27 Actually, this is a Cream cover of Robert Johnson's song.

  • @Grendel938 he spelled cream wrong thats the point i was making

  • @themanchild27 this is the best blues song ever

  • @ramitupursnout - Also, Black Betty is from1933 in a prison, not by Spiderbait and Ram Jam as young people seem to believe.

  • Comment removed

  • @ramitupursnout okay...

    and you spelt CREAM wrong.

  • @cathgirl23 Thats cause he ant white

  • @ramitupursnout well he saw well ahead of his time then

  • @ramitupursnout I know everything about Cream for Robert, it's rare :P Blues Forever!

  • @ramitupursnout and many other artists

  • @ramitupursnout yeah...thanks for the obvious?

  • @ramitupursnout yes, we all know it.. but IT stills a CREAM song... yeah, its a cover, but a cover by CREAM. or Robert Johnson sing/drum/bass/guitar in this track? NO.....

  • @ramitupursnout I'm probably the only 15 year old that listened to Robert Johnson. I listened to him while on my way to school almost every morning with my brother.

  • @ramitupursnout Just like everyone thinks "Sunshine of you love" is a Hendrix song!

  • this version originally came out on the double live album Cream - Wheels of fire in 68'

  • early metal

  • It's blues, 'tard.

  • @joeparzych2 dont throw this in with that.

  • This sounds like one of his only happy songs.

  • oh, this is not a happy song.

  • o no my mistake. Just found it.

  • Why is crossroads not on the complete clapton album?

  • it's cream not clapton's solo band

  • I know, but without Clapton would Cream of been successful? And you could say so vica versa.

  • Clapton was succesful before Cream. It's John mayalls "beano" album that made clapton one of the most desired guitarests in England.

  • i dunno but its on cream of clapton

  • more likely because its a Cream song and not his own song.

  • thnx for posting

  • Incrivel!

  • this song brings back memories at a local bar, when we had a fat brawl, ques, bottles, fists you name it.

  • haha yeee

  • Wonderful ... tonight ... and every bloody night! Just finished reading Eric Clapton's autobiography. It's a terrific read! Greetings to Eric, and everyone from Jarrahnut in wonderful Western Australia.

  • lol yeah pepte was supposed to be pete my bad.

  • is pepte suppoesed to be pete townshend because if that is i totally fucking agree with you then second for rhythym guitarist i would say keith richards

  • has anyone forgot eric johnson for great guitar players?

  • best fucking solo fucking ever fuck

  • fuck i fucking know fuck

  • fuck ya shits fuckin fucktight

  • Tits?

  • @hellsassasin1 it's not that hard of a song.....

  • @hellsassasin1 why did my comment recieve too many thumbs down? da fuck

  • I listen to this song like 20 times a day

  • I raid crossroads every day!!!

  • Haha, aint that the truth (to mcmatanmc)

  • Well not everyday... lol

  • muahaha ^^

  • other great guitarists I should mention are Jeff Beck,Richie Blackmore, Jimmy Paige and joe perry,Dave Murry from Iron Maiden, Kirk Hammit from Metallica and we can't forget Robert Johnson.

A couple guitar players that are good today are Dan Donegan from Disturbed, and Dragonforce

  • you also forgot rod price of foghat. he was on of the best slide guitar player that ever lived.

  • A little late on my part, but if you're going to name Murray as a great, I think you have to put in Adrian Smith right next to him, because they basically played together in most of what Maiden did.

  • the song for my life right now...

  • i luv clapton but i think stevie ray vaughan is a betterr guitar player

  • I think the best guitar players are Clapton, Hendrix, Van Halen, Townshend, and Tony Ioomi. And Stevie Ray Vaughn is just a wannabe Hendrix

  • yea ok van halen is not even close to stevie ray and u think he is just a wannabe becuase he played a couple songs from him the way he made u can actually understand what hes playin unlike hendrix

  • tony ioomi isnt that good....and pete townshend is ok but not the best

  • you forgot johnny winter and alvin lee

  • great song

  • nahh this one is a lot better

  • I have to say, Robert Johnson's version blows lynyrds version out of the water^^

  • Clapton is god

  • great song

  • the bass in this song sounds so freakin awsome, its like a soloing upright bass xD

  • now that i think about Jack Bruce used a Gibson EB-3 bass during the Cream era, so thats why it sounds so good! xD

  • Does anyone know all the members of Cream? We have to listen to this song for Music homework and answer questions about it. Thankyoouuu! =D

  • You can't compare the style of guitar virtuosos with the style of Clapton. They play guitar in two completely different ways. It's like comparing an apple with an orange...each has advantages and disadvantages/ good sides and bad sides. I personally find Clapton's style much more moving, but that's just me...to each his own.

  • There is nothing special about that style. HA! How can you say that there is nothing specail about that style, the very guitarists that you mentioned in the latter part of your comment, Im sure, would laugh if you told them there was nothing special about their style

  • Depends the way people look at it.

Personally, blues is all about the tone, while shredding is all about the technicality and blow-your-brains about ability.

Personally, I prefer Gilbert/Petrucci/Vai over Clapton/Hendrix/SRV, but I definitely love them all!

  • and seriously too much clapton praising in this vid. the other members of cream were extremely talented too.

  • Actually really the best guitarist of all time by far is Andreas Segoiva. He is guitar.

  • Andreas is the MAN!!

  • 1. Duane Allman

    2. Eric Clapton

    3. Terry Kath****

    4. Stevie Ray Vaughn

    5. Jimi Hendrix

****Often overlooked Jimi Hendrix said of Terry Kath...."I'm good, but that cat blows me away." Well, at least that's my top 5. Everybody has their favorites. Terry is absolutely one of the best rock guitarists that ever lived.

  • Joe satriani isnt really a as u say it trick pony .now batio on the other hand is. for me music isnt all about sound .skill and precision are what i focus on. i still focus on sound alot though but people who dont respect the two musical artists u should they have lots of talent they may not sound the way u want them to sound but they have skill

  • WTF Joe Satriani? Get out!

  • Joe Satriani is an amazing musician.

    Show some respect.

  • You can't compare him to a guitarist like Eric Clapton.

  • 1. Clapton

    2. Clapton

    3. Clapton

    4. Clapton

    5. Hendrix

  • 1. SRV

    2. SRV

    3. SRV

    4. SRV

    5. Gilmour

  • u r delusional

  • Me? Or him?

  • Gilmour girls?

  • satriani? ha ... so full of shit

  • i change my list

1.tie between joe satriani &michael angelo batio

    2.eddie van halen

    3.Jimmy page

    4.stevie ray vaughan

    5.eric clapton

  • Bation?! Van Halen?! Page was good but not top five material.

  • joe satriani and batio are basically one trick ponies. Batio has a shit load of chops but I don't ever walk away thinking anything meaningful has hit me. Certainly nothing moving. As far as Eddie is concerned he is far more significant than the two mentioned at the top. Stevie Ray and Page are definately way up there. Where is Hendrix on this list???? Clapton has always been my personal favourite. A true master of emotion.

  • 1 jimmy hendrix

    2 eric clapton

    3 jimmy page

    4 duane allman

  • all the musicians mentioned above in my opinion are unbelievably amazing guitarists and that's a fact

  • 1.Joe Satriani 3.Jimmy Page

2.Eddie Van Halen 4.Stevie Ray Vaughan

  • 1.clapton 2.jimmy page 3. denny dios

    4. hendrix 5. stevie ray vaughan

  • 1.jimmy page 1.eric clapton it is a tie

  • 1. Jimi Hendrix

    2. Eric Clapton

    Fixed.

  • 1. Jimi Hendrix

    2. Eric Clapton 2 is a tie between clapton and page

  • good point

  • Denny Dias is an awesome guitarist, way underrated but I don't believe he is Top 5 or even Top 10 material. Great player though.

  • Clapton was so far the better guitarist that Harrison had him play on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" instead of playing himself. Harrison and Richards are a rung below the others.

Might want to add Peter Green to that list, Robert Johnson and BB King.

  • and maybe beck doesnt cum in top 5 for me but he certainly does in top 10

  • lol i dint 4get jimmy page plz see ma list i 4got to add santana and beck

  • chuck berry motherfuckers

  • according to me clapton, hendrix, page, duane allman, srv are the best guitarists.....u cant incude pp like slash, cobain etc. in der league dude dey far more superior...clapton shd be the greatest of them all

  • shedontlie, YOU FORGOT JEFF BECK AND JIMMY PAGE!!! If you mention one yardbird, the rest must follow, Johnny Winter should also be included...

  • heck no u forgot george harrison and keith richards and randy rhodes and tony iommi

  • totally love iommis stuff!

  • In my opinion these guys are the best guitarists. 1. Tony Iommi 2. Eric Clapton 3. Jimmy Page 4. Jimi Hendrix 5. Stevie Ray. Thoughts, opinions and discussion are welcome.

  • same here, just switch clapton and iommi

  • is there a studio record of this song?

  • and Slash isnt on the list but Kurt Cobain is #12 wtf

  • Here, quit fighting:

    *Iommi

    *Clapton

    *Page

    *Gilmore

    *SRV

    *Hendrix

    *Dime

In my opinion these are the most talented and infulential guitarist.(no specific order)

  • *blackmore
