  • i am an magda JKD instructor in england, great training guys! you are lucky to have trained with sifu wong. keep going and good luck to you

  • @ianrussell999 Thanks ;)

  • for those of you who want to "preserve" JKD you are going against one of bruce's ideals. bruce hated tradition because it gave no room for improvement. take in wat works for you and discard the rest. just because he invented it doesnt mean its the only answer. one day someone else will invent another style thats better than this and the cycle will repeat. dont be that wanna be groupy person. do wat is necessary and wats best.

  • @navyteccs Improvement of JKD is not add another martial art neither add two sticks. Improvent and evolution of JKD is REFINE. We make the JKD what BL made. If you want to change it, ok!! but try call it with another name. JKD is not "the best martial art"; there isnt the best martial art, only there are better persons that others fighting. But JKD is not only fight. We try to preserve JKD with all its contents.

  • @jamesoft although true, no matter how u look at it your still going against wat bruce wanted. JKD is just a name, people all over are making a big fuss over little things like someone adding in moves from other arts. if someone adds moves its because that worked for them. it would be cool to always have bruce's version of it but then bruce wouldnt like that.

  • @navyteccs We dont know what BL will like or not; I think its stupid talking about it. We only can preverve and do the what he did in his life. I think that you sometimes are talking about JKD as philosophy and other about JKD as martial art. There are peaple that use JKD in his life only as philosophy. JKD as martial art its a style with a philosophy inside. Adding moves to JKD? First they should know what JKD offerts to you and then you can add to you fight the what you want.

  • @jamesoft bruce says wat he wants in interviews and his books, JKD is like yin and yang. u cant have the whole thing without the martial side and the philosophy side other wise yur not in it for the right reasons.

  • @navyteccs but bro we cant interpret his word s anyway he wants. like how mma circle cite him as the inventor when even his theory of distiction and practicality differs remarkable from his so its safe to say the everyone is right and wrong about interpreting his work and phil.

  • Only few understood what Bruce Lee JKD is all about. One of those qualified to teach JKD is no other than Dan Inosanto. If you to gauge man's capability just take a look at his students, Paul Vunka, Ron Balicki and Yori Nakamura t0 name a few. These guys have a tremendous impact on the progress of JKD. The idea is not to be confined with JKD form as understood by others. JkD is not a style or form, it is a process that serves as foundation from which a person developed himself as a martial artist

  • @19truthseeker "JKD is not a style"--> JKD is a style!!! It is not a classical or fixed style, but obvious its a style... The prefered word of Inosanto´s peaple is to say "its my vision of JKD" but I think that that they should to know first WHAT IS JKD. Its my opinion.

  • His death is no mystery. He died of a brain a brain aneurysm. They said it could have been contributed to the fact that a presciption medicaton he was taking he was allergic to. They shroud it in mystery to fuel to growth of his legend.

  • @jamesoft. lighten up. it is what it is. you perpetuating the arts is good thing but don't let it get to your head. try to be humble.

  • Thumbs up: Linkin Park - Enter sandman

  • Music Please :3

  • JKD is a Mixed Martial Art in itself. Alot of Bruce Lee's instructors came from right here on Oahu, Hawaii.

  • @katz808 JKD = MMA? waoooooo JKD=Inosanto? wooooooo Kali=JKD? ummmmmmmmmmm Have you seen my video? arg!

Bustillo was a great boxer, but he doesnt is a good "Hawaii" JKD teacher (its my opinion). Our club want to preserve JKD; Bustillo wants anoth€r thing.

  • @jamesoft I agree with You jamesoft. ;)

  • @jamesoft I'm not implying Bustillo. Masters like Professor Wally Jay and Ed Parker just to name a few. Bruce Lee was a collector of several arts and styles.

  • @katz808 Bruce Lee was not a collector. BL STUDIED several martial arts to understand them. JKD had a strong inlfuence of fencing and boxing, only this.

  • @katz808 JKD is an art in and of itself though bruce studied uncountable texts and met with many other instructors what e did was completely new. JKD has nothing to do with any organized sport including MMA and it was because of instructors like Bustillo and Insanto that he closed his schools. What they taught was not true JKD thats why there is a delineation between JKD "concepts" and true Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do.

All of your students across the globe miss you dearly Ted.

  • NO TRAES NADA. LEE MAS DE BRUCE SIENTO QUE LE FALTA MUCHO. POR LO QUE SE VE,

  • @jesuselmexicanarts ¿Has probado a ponerte gafas? ^^

  • grande bruce es mi may aki la mera verdura de tepiss ese no

  • @mundosinkolor Pero hombreeeee, ¿qué idioma/dialecto es ese? ¿Esperanto? Vaya tela...

  • Nice spirit :) Love JKD. Whish you the best in future for your association. I Whish I was in spain, I would defenitly come to see you guys :) Keep it up :D

  • having enter sandman for this video makes mettalica seem that much more epic

  • a style that consists of no style? using the right technique for the right purose in that instant instead of relying on a memorized technique? baah! that'll never work

  • @UnchartedKaleLight nahhhhhhhh... MMA do whatever you got to do to hurt them at that moment

  • good stuff! well done !

  • If you want to learn Jeet Kune Do, or how to fight like Bruce Lee. Read his fighting technique books as I have.

  • @ACPerformances jajajajajaj. You should take something cold ^^

  • thought u guys should know so u could look at urselves through this video and compare ur self to Bruce Lee and see the difference

  • @DrunkenSamurai18 Ted Wong trained with Bruce Lee a few times. TW said that we are the best JKD group of Europe. Ummm... I like more the TW idea of JKD than the yours ... ;)

  • @jamesoft i understand how u could like a positive statement more than a negative statement and i mean no disrespect from my previous statement. but being the best in Europe doesnt mean ur actually good. it means that u r the best in Europe. wat i meant before is that in martial arts its alot easier to see ur form from an outside point of view and i can see that ur guys form is nowhere close to Bruce Lees and that u guys should really take the time to do wat i mentioned previously.

  • @DrunkenSamurai18 I dont agree with you. Thank you for you opinion. Walk on!

  • @jamesoft lol u mad! im not even trolling u. ur guy's form looks like u r doing some cardiovascular training at a gym, im serious. like ur doing tae bo. u dont have to listen to me. but that doesnt make u right either.

  • @DrunkenSamurai18 You should not write when you are "Drunken" ... I cant understand nothing my friend :)

  • @jamesoft in otherwords, your form looks like you were trained by a cardiovascular fitness instructor at your local gym. i know you are from Spain so English isnt your first language so i hope you can understand my abridged sentence.

  • @DrunkenSamurai18 DrunkenSamurai18, you dont know how we are training. You only have seen 1 or 2 mine videos about MOMENTS of our class. Its obvious and easy to understand.

  • i dont mean be rude but this is horrible. the only thing that looked anything close to Bruce Lees style is the old guy at the beginning.

  • @DrunkenSamurai18 JKD is not the what you have seen in the films and psp games.

  • lmao i thoght that was a girl at first at 5:02

  • what's the nam of the first song? is it by pantera or something?

  • @xXsnowrider11Xx Enter de Sandman ... Metallica

  • one of the best art thank you dude

    from sri lanka

  • it looks so boring!

  • @aldoghost Viewing Naruto´s anime sure is more fun

  • @jamesoft im black belt in taekwondo and I practice XMA too! this thing is too basic... that's why i find it boring my friend! ;)

  • @aldoghost "The belts are to hold up the pants" - Bruce Lee

  • @jamesoft well... you know. im a huge fan of bruce lee. i was just saying my opinion about how this video look like, not the discipline itself

  • Nice video..

I´ve noticed that my former Sifu Stefan Nikander jkd brother, Jari Nyman was in this clip. Are you students of Jari???

I am no longer a student of JKD in terms of any school, but i still practice sometimes. I feel that JKD is in good hands watching clips of students like you guys. Thank you for continuing the journey of JKD, and especially TWJKD. Wish u guys all the best.. /Rickard Ankarsund

    from Sweden

  • @ReclaimFitnessSweden Yes, we are students of Jari. I appreciated very much Stefan. It was a great and terrible lost. We will keep alive the flame of the JKD for a long time. Thank you Rickard.

  • JKD is not and was not ONLY in Ted Wong. Bruce Lee left his books which reveal MOST of the JKD real movemets. Tao of JKD and Bruce Lee's Advanced Fighting method books (now all books in one). Linda Lee explained how ALL of Bruce Lee's uncorrupted MA is in those books.

  • @Kungfumastertraining Yes Sure, but TW was the best way to understand what JKD is. You can read, see video and all the what you want, but having a person that wasted his life to study JKD without commercial interesting can help you something more ... I think.

  • @jamesoft I disagree with you that TW was the best way to understand what JKD is. In my opinion it's Paul Vunak(fighting.net) who best communicates Bruce Lee's ideas effectively to the ignorant masses. Paul was mostly trained by Dan Inosanto but also trained with Tim Tackett, James Demile, Jerry Poteet and others who reject Inosanto's inclusion of Kali, BJJ etc into his cirriculum. I hate to say this but I think both those on Inosanto's side and Ted Wong's side are wrong

  • @charliejunfan13 Dan Inosanto(as far as I can tell..) understands the philosophy of JKD better than Ted Wong, Paul Vunak however blows both of them out of the water! Of anyone who could be considered the next best teacher after Bruce Lee it'd be Paul. I had read all of Bruce Lee's, Dan Inosanto's, and Paul Vunaks books, not to mention a TON of articles by Ted Wong, Jerry Poteet, and others who reject Dan Inosanto's teachings before I graduated High School in 2007.

  • @charliejunfan13 You have to informate better, my friend. TW dedicated HIS LIFE to undertand JKD. He was a friend, a student and a experimental trainer of BL. You should get some more information ...

  • @charliejunfan13

I AGREE WITH YOU BUT I AM LITTLE BIT INCLINED TO DAN INOSANTO SIMPLY BECAUSE HE WAS PERSONALLY TAUGHT BY BRUCE LEE.

  • I could have trained with Jerry Poteet, Gary Dill, Dan Inosanto, Ted Wong, Taki Kimura, James Demile, or any of the other prominent 1st generation instructors but I didn't, I chose Paul Vunak who is neither Dan Inosanto(basically an mma teacher now :P), Ted Wong R.I.P.(basically a guy who looked very awkward trying to be Bruce Lee), or Bruce Lee(the master!!!!!!!!!!!). Paul understands(unlike the rest) that Jeet Kune Do is a process of first trying to be Bruce Lee then Dan Inosanto, then

  • Then Rixon Gracie only to finally realize that he is none of them, he is Paul Vunak! He hacked away at the mass of clay only to discover his own way! I'm a good rhymer wouldn't you say? ;) JKD is your boat across the river of truth in Martial arts, it is never forgotten but it is no longer necessary to carry the weight once you are you. I highly recommend Pauls book, Jeet Kune Do: It's Concepts and Philosophies, in it he summarizes Bruce Lee's tao of Jeet Kune Do very well

  • @charliejunfan13 Im spanish and I can not undertand very well your phrases and jokes. "Concepts" ... no thanks, I prefer the totally JKD >>> totallyjkd . com

  • @charliejunfan13 I think the opposite. I know (not personally) Paul, Inosanto, Jerry and I did trained with Tacket, Bustillo, Jesse Glover in Spain. So I can say to you that I think that TW is the most directly way to know the Bruce Lee´s JKD. TW did not charge money in their courses, do you know why? Because he wanted preserve the art of Bruce Lee like us. "When you mix the money in one hand and art on the other, something bad happens." - Ted Wong.

  • like your film the beginning artiest is metallica btw xD

  • @TheMeleemaster yeah!

  • oh and read more on jkd. not just by ted wong but by everyone's interpretation. keep an open mind.

  • @bryandejesus217 Thank you but i have traveled , seen and read enought to have my own opinion of real Bruce Lee´s Jeet Kune Do.

  • again, jkd is ever evolving, bruce had a foundation, he evolved, he researched what worked for him. yes jkd isn't for everyone. take a look at the various on-guard stances from different jkd students.

  • @bryandejesus217 The evolution of JKD is polishing, not to add more things

  • so you guys practice 'original jkd' which is taught by ted wong. so many fractions of jkd like 'original', 'concepts' and 'strategies'. but you know what? it's all the same principles. jkd is simple and direct and economical. jkd is your 'own' expression of the underlying concepts and philosophy of jkd. so why argue? wasted energy.

  • @bryandejesus217 I have a surplus power to waste :P

  • at the end of clip i didn't see any jdk, :) or maybe you just train boxing and kicking as a jkd :), so that means that you don't really know what it is, because boxing and kicking its just kick box.

no offence guys but train a little wing chun and then it will just look as jkd.

  • @samantasame jajajajajajaajaj.... Wing Chun? jajajajajjaj. Ok, I see that you are a great expert of JKD. Wing Chun!! jajajajajajaj Its the unique thing that is far of the JKD. We make JKD, no WC, no Thay, no Kali,...JKD, with a big influence of boxing and fencing, but not WC for sure. Ahhh, no offence guy ;) thank you for make me smile this terrible morning :)

  • i cant join a club of jkd there is no club were i am but i learn from watching other people do it on videos so atleast i have somthing to learn

  • @commderben There are a lot of peaple in you same position. Try to training hard and honestly. Good luck!

  • @jamesoft ok

  • @commderben search for something else like krav maga class or (kick/thai) box classes, bruce lee combined a lot of styles in 1, wich became JKD.

  • I rather study under Dan Inosanto, obviously he knows a lot about JKD. Without being disrepect to Ted Wong, he looks as if he just watching Bruce Lee movies. Dan has in depth knowledge about Jet KUn do.

  • @mjdbest I dont think so.

  • @jamesoft

I am martial arts fan, i am currently studying Shotokan Karate. I know Bruce Lee through his movies, articles, biography of him and of course through Youtube I have seen foootages of him that i thought never exist. I also followed Dan Inosanto and those students of Bruce Lee, including Ted Wong. Dan was in the beginning of the conceptualization of the JETKUNDO and in fact have entrusted by Bruce to continue teaching his arts with limited no. of students.

  • @mjdbest I studied Go-ju-ryu Karate for 10 years ;) Dan hasnt a limited students; he has a million of students and "sifus" around the world. I think that he has taken a wrong way. Its my opinion. We follow the JKD of Bruce Lee, thanks to Sifu Ted Wong, the JKD personified. We study and training JKD, and we try to preserve the art of Bruce Lee.

  • @jamesoft Hey softy... Bruce Lee certified 3 instuctors to teach his JKD Guru Dan Inosanto, Taki Kimura and James Lee.. Look at my page

  • @DeanPMA The theme about the false certified of Dan it´s a theme very and very talked. Please, find out more information.

  • @jamesoft I have personally worn Bruce Lees sparring gloves he made.

  • @DeanPMA Hey James Dean, what page?

  • @jamesoft Ted Wong is a 2nd generation JKD instructor

  • @DeanPMA "The belts are only good for holding up pants" - Bruce Lee.

  • @jamesoft ...When Bruce was alive, Dan has few students as he was instructed by his sifu to keep that way. I preferred DAN way of teaching the JKD because he applied the philosophy behind JKD. To immitate Bruce is futile because no one can be like Bruce Lee. I believe that JKD is the "personal expression of Bruce Lee martial arts. I have a mike tyson body type, now tell me how can be effective JKD practitioner if i imitate Bruce Lee movement?

  • @mjdbest

I have watched each Bruce movie for nth times but still i can't get those complicated moves by Bruce Lee which I called "combo moves" in which Bruce delivered series of punches. That's how it appears to me. It is only when I saw one of DAN video teaching materials that I clearly understand every move Bruce made.

  • @mjdbest I think that Dan doesnt apply the philosophy, only applies the money (its only my opinion). There is a phrase that its very used in JKD World: "JKD is not for everybody".

  • @jamesoft

If that is how you are understood it, then you concentrate on doing karate. JKD belongs only to BRUCE LEE.

  • @mjdbest I have made Karate for 10 years.... no more thanks :) You are right, JKD belongs only to Bruce Lee. Our club tries to perpetuate his JKD.

  • @jamesoft Well, why the hell did Brandon Lee continue his training with Guru Dan and not anyone else. Why has Guru Dan got all of Bruces notes, gym timetable, class attendant sheets, training equipment ect ect?

  • @DeanPMA 1) Because Ted Wong did not teach before. 2) I do not know the fetish of Dan, but Dan was still a good friend of Bruce and thus sure he has a lot of stuff of Bruce. If Bruce lifted his head ...

  • Not bad guys, just a tip, stop clenching so hard when you are throwing down, you'll find it hits soo much faster and harder

  • @THEscenage throwing down? I dont understand you

  • @jamesoft Sorry, was using slang. I don't mean literally throwing. Just when you are striking. Just relax a bit more is all - i.e. loosen up :)

  • @jamesoft

    he means while punching.

  • legal

  • I want to join a JKD class!!

  • Video of Ted Wong starts around 3:20

    Nice upload

    Blessings.

  • Excelente

  • Watch for the lead heel turn on the front kick. Remember non telegraphic! Otherwise great not very many people have a good ideal of jeet kune do but you all have a pretty good way of you. PS Ted Wong's Double leading straight punch is sick!

  • I didn't see much in trapping range, or any stop hits being practiced.. I know it's a short vid.. but don't get me wrong, very good hard training.. liked what I saw very much

  • Nice vid. Ive just joined a JKD club here in Australia. been going for a few weeks and we have been taught more emphasis on snapping the strikes/ kicks straight back being prepared for a mis hit and to strike immediately. I may be wrong but some of your guys seem a little slow on the snapping action. good to see JKD still going strong though.

  • @MrBerzerkus Yes, its probably true. You have to undertand that in the video, there are students with 1 year, 3, 7 ... practicing JKD, and above all, the video are TRUE movements, no-poses. We have to improve, day by day

... the practice makes you perfect! :)

  • @jamesoft i just wasnt sure with all the different strains of JKD these days. Yeah by all means im still a newbie aswell. Looks like hard training theyre doing.

  • bruce lee real art never kick high, is that the stupid norris who teach bruce kick high

  • gay song cool video

  • @livethechaos13 great songS, cool video ;)

  • @jamesoft happy guy with gay music taste, cool video

  • @livethechaos13 And what sort of music are listening the macho-men guys like you?

  • @jamesoft i have no interest in being macho what so ever im sorry your so hurt about a comment on your music taste. relax. take a deep breath hold it .. hold it... exhale good boy. :p

  • @livethechaos13 iiiiiiinsssss.....ufffffffff............iiiinnnnssssss.....uufffffff :D

  • @jamesoft cool now do you haVe any jeet kune do video recommendations or any other martial art video that are great.. im really starting to get into jeet kune do

  • @livethechaos13 Yes, sure. Go to Youtube and put this in the search: "Casting Kung-Fu"

  • @jamesoft no

  • All of these people arguing about JKD have OBVIOUSLY NOT read his fighting method book vol. 3 It's all spelled out there. Jamesoft is correct....footwork is to be moving all the time.... footwork is basically what Bruce took from fencing compettions power side (right arm) forward Bruce believed in Wing chun ONLY for the mid range after the bridge is crossed the MMA BIBLE Finding your ranges non chambered punch angled retreats centerline Wing chun in principles but uses all styles
  • I miss Ted. Last I remember, he was in San Fransisco(90's) teaching for free. RIP my friend. I really hate the jkd war that's still going on. Larry (RIP) had his version built more around wrestling, Dan watered it down which I personally did not appreciate(his school was right up the street from me, early 80's), both Jerry's and Taky's version is the Chinatown. TIm, I was supposed to visit 5 years ago, I never did. Bob is helping him now I think . Teddy kept it in it's final truest form.

  • @autohckr How did Inosanto watered it down?

  • @SuperSeonghoon I will sight one example. Bruce always believed that the side kick was the most powerful kick. Bruce also disliked any kick using the rear leg that involved twisting the hips forward and exposing the groin and the fact that it could be "beat to the punch" with a cross(Bas Ruten proved that many times). He did not like the Muy Tai roundhouse. Dan on the other hand added the Muy Tai rear round house and called IT the most powerful kick in MA. Just one example. Still like Dan tho.

  • @autohckr Can you site more examples?

  • @SuperSeonghoon Well I dont want to beat up on Dan, he really is a nice guy. Here is one more example though. Dan began mixing other types of energy drills in with JKD/JunFan drills, for example one called Bud Lu Bud which was actually from Escrima/Kali. Unlike Chi Sao in which sensitivity is learned through constant contact, Bud Lu Bud loses contact but is still suppose to teach sensitivity. Dan believed it's trapping was better than that of Jun Fan/JKD.

  • @SuperSeonghoon When Dan was in Torrance he really got into Fillipino MA which is cool being it is his heritage. He studied under quite a few people(La Coste comes to mind). He also trained Brazilian JJ and added some of that to JKD. I don't agree with his "JKD concepts" idea. A word he coined, and Jerry has JKD "principles" which is actually more correct. But according to Ted, the basic "principle" behind JKD is to "intercept" the other guy's hit. It was the highest form according to Bruce.

  • good video . buce lee have my respet

  • Great video. I have high respect for ted wong he is a great guy, to bad it lookes more like boxing with jkd kicks, but actully, it should be like wing chun with some boxing punches and jkd kicks. Best regards // Shifu M.

  • @shiifu Hello, two things: 1) The main difference between Bruce Lee´s JKD and the boxing is the footwork; we try never be stationary, always moving. 2) JKD never should be like Wing Chun; Boxing and fencing was the main base of the beginning of the JKD ... OF THE BEGINNING. Now JKD is JKD.

  • @jamesoft Many of my friends and people I know have studied under Dan insanto, and it is as I said before, Boxing stance, some good kicks and wing chun hand tehniques.

  • good shit

  • @calibudz04

ahahah no one thumb up :)

  • Haters killed Bruce Lee and Brandon Lee

  • take whats usefull and throw the rest out...JKD ALWAYS!!! and to you suckas quit crying...what works in a fight, you will never know till you u use it, so always be ready and never take anybody lightly...ALOHA! kali and eskrima tambien fools!

  • Your so deluded dude. You don't care or want to know the Truth. So u can claim some kind of " were the only TRUE JKD group". Your not and never will be. You live in ignorance and fear.

  • @bj3656 "Ignorance and fear" xDDDDD Ey man!, Stop watching movies of Jackie Chan and say: NO to drugs!

  • TREMENDOUS!!!!

  • i always wondered why kung fu and this kind of arts jeet kune do bla bla, fight without covering their face, their guard is too low, they cover the middle part of the body which is the strongest part and they keep face and limbs unguarded..

  • @MrEdubajista We dont keep face unguarded, we keep guarded the chin of the head with our back hand; the other hand depends of the game... Excuse me if you have seen poor postura in our video perhaps its normal; the video are images of real sparring and technique without poses.

Nosotros no bloqueamos, esquivamos o golpeamos.

  • i love the jeet kune do martial arts.'',how can i improve this matial art master wong.'',

    from philippines

  • in cantonese Jeet Kune Do... the way of the intercepting fist.
