The last time I was in beautiful Guam was in 1988, when the brown tree snake was just starting. I heard that it got pretty bad in the 1990s and 2000s, with much of the wild life population devastated . I must say that the people of Guam are among the most friendliest and Chamarro culture is wonderful.

Maaaan my dad was in the military and we lived in Guam in naval housing from '93-'94 the only thing I can remember is a Toucan bird in a tall coconut tree. Such a beautiful place. I'm Filipino I consider Guamanians, Hawaiins, Samoans as cousins.

Guam will be the first island i will visit. I hope that it is what i expect. I have been looking at islands pictures all my life always wanting to visit one. Is the water warm or cool? I guess i have a connection to Guam as my father landed there on July 21st 1944. He was with the 3rd marine division headquarters battalion signal corp. Man the few stories he told us about that battle were horrific. What the Japs did to pregnant Guam woman..WOW. Hard to believe. His best buddy died there.

I was born In guam.. But On anderson airforce base.. Yigo guam.. It was in 1996 when I was born and at that time we had the worst typhoon named Paca.. It hit right where I lived. I dont remember much but I'm planning a trip :D! I remember I had blonde hair and people would touch it.

Guam is located in the Mariana islands, not even in the same ocean as Puerto Rico,

And the indigenous people (Chamorro) first came to Guam about 4000 years ago, as opposed to the Samoans that inhabit Hawaii (also not even in the same ocean as puerto rico) who date back about 2300 years.

Not sure where you got your information on guam, puerto rico, or samoans but you may think about fact checking.

Yeah, it is quite a change. Think of it this way, you're moving to paradise! My parents were stationed there too, but we moved back to California. We stayed there for 8 years. One of the best moments of my life! I have my childhood memories in Guam. You'll enjoy it! Just travel the island. Anderson Air Force Base is a nice base too! Good Luck.
