Pretty cool. I am surprised you guys didnt hurt your self. I have jumped from about 25 feet, But I think that bridge is much higher. In RI> where I live there are some cool jumps. You gotta swim out in the ocean and then climb them and jump. Also In the town I live in Cumberland RI, there are some old mining sight where you can jomp from maybe 40ft.
It did hurt...the back of my leg was a bit bruised. This was the highest thing I have jumped off of and about 2 seconds into it I thought the same thing.

guys i jumped that bridge about 3 to 4 days ago and never again will i jump it again i landed fine but to far warn anyone who is going to do it if you land normal then the pressure still slams you whole body so its like doing a belly flop and back buster at the same time i also lost my memory for about 5 minutes so i do not recommend i will never do that again i realized that i can die doing this and didnt know until now so be careful

What does it matter if it's 50 ft deep or 5000? Do his feet need to touch? Afraid thet can't dive deep enough to retrieve the body?
Deeper is BETTER. He needs 20-30 feet, a bit more if he dived. He could do it in 15-20 with shoes if he's experienced.
As for watching for boats, ummm, I think he knew that. Which is why the clip is not titled "guy who some guy hasn't given his expert advice to yet gets hit by boat!"

The Butler Bridge has been attracting idiots for years. A guy flew a biplane under it when I was in High School in Betsy in the late '70's. No U-Tube to document it.....

Dad told me a guy back in the 70's that used to drive new cars off of this bridge so the owners could claim theft insurance money... You also can't forgot our giant "man-eating" catfish, or the lady who mobsters "got rid off" by chaining her inside a refrigerator and sending it to the bottom. Supposedly a diver saw one of those catfish while searching for her and died or a heart atack...
the cliffs up at warriors path state park are higher. They have three, one is at 30 or 40 feet the second is at about 65 to 70 and the third is about 100 feet. i wouldnt recomend jumping but i have some friends that have jumped off of the tall one.
jrb you don't know what u are talkin about, I have jumped off the cliffs at Warriors they are not higher than Butler Bridge, in fact I measured them on Wednesday, the middle cliff top ledge is 45 feet, and the high cliff is 60 feet, and that is with the water level down at the lake too...They r still fun jumps tho..
