Thanks so much! I'm building my first CNC router and I'm stuck for CAD software. I can use Inventor, Alibre and ProEng but can't afford the packages for home use! I was hoping Blender might do for 3D CAD work and your tutorial has answered the question. Plus, I use Linux exclusively at home so an opensource solution is great. Thanks for putting it all together.
I just began doing this and I am really looking forward to cutting out some advanced 3D models that I can actually make in blender. The only problem is that I've been kind of stupid when it comes to text within the model :P But thank you for pointing out the obvious regarding text with blender. And good luck CNCing
