@Scyeth from what i gather, it's about atheistism. so why start a religion if you are an atheist? that's like saying you don't believe in space aliens but you worship flying saucers. it seems more like a socialist group which makes no sense to give it a title with church in it, and then call it a religion too?
@juker606 I guess the religion bit is just to gather attention, and since it's a religion, it's got to have Gods or deities right? So they just chose ones that were based on science and reality :\ who cares
@Scyeth if that's the case then i would say he is more of an idealist than religious and using the term religion is more so pretense if for attention. maybe the church of idealism would have been better of a name. religion without a deity or deities seems pointless to me but i guess that could be a matter of opinion. but either way anyone who posts here must care about this to some level.
Facts, reality do not require BELIEVE, BUT SIMPLY YOU ACCEPT! LIERES AND RELIGIONS REQUIRE TO BELIEVE, NOT FACTS! I HATE THE WORD BELIEV! THE WORD BELIEV ALARS ME ALWAYS AT ALL TIMES... YOU ARE SAYING THAT YOU BELIEV IN REALITY, AND YOU MAKE ME NUTS WITH THAT! YOU HAVE TO SAY " I ACCEPT REALITY" AND NOT BELIEV IN REALITY! GET IT?!
Hi Mr.Perkel, "Faith, belief" and (my words) a relationship with God, "requires" faith, not fact. faith does not equal fact & fact not faith. You can't mix water & oil. One may already have many facts, as there are factual evidences for God, but we approach God via faith as God has set the guidelines, not man. You can insist on fact all you want, but let me ask.. have you found God that way? Has anyone?
@LivinWorstNightmare a religion that downsizes other religions will only lead to hate then violence. obviously you believe in that so....hating all of one religion cuz of your personal experiences with it seems narrow minded to me. now you will accuse me of being christian. watch.
faith doesnt work exactly like that. its not meant to be tested. hm..could you say that you had faith that this video would upload, because technically, you have no idea if it would or not, unless you are psychic. im not a bible thumper or anything, im just saying.
@jmanbgg Your correct, faith is not meant to be tested, but this is the reason that anything that relies on faith should not be believe. Faith prevents you from questioning the truth but if you cannot question truth, then how do you know its not a lie? When you think someone is lying you must question them to enough to reveal the ultimate truth, why do people not do this to faith-based religions. How could you live your life in accordance with uncertainty and false truth?
It comes down to logical consistency and one's conscience regarding right and wrong. Try to reduce something as much as you can. It paints a different picture of reality and shows how little we know. It also paints the correct picture of the Bible.
If you read this persons rants you will find he hates both his parents and the fact they made him go to temple. He also hated the fact he was different than others. In essence, this person hates himself and God. Why? Because God created this travesty.
You can't be an atheist and then call yourself a religion. The person is a mental midget who knows how to use a computer and blames everyone else for his own choices in life. I know this, he will be crapping all over himself when he dies and says Oh God! He is truly an idiot and there are plenty of fools who will follow this person to Hell.
He even believes Jesus never existed when a Roman historian backs the fact that Jesus did live. If he was truly atheist, why does he spend all this time arguing something in his little mind that God doesn't exist. What is up with these hypocrites? He is another tool for the devil. I love these types of so called intellectuals, dumb as a box of rocks!
@Anotherutubemoron He's not atheist, he's a realist. You could argue that because realism does that worship a deity than it is atheism but realism is different from atheism in that it is a religion because it shows rules and principles in which to live your life. Also, the fact that your lowering yourself to verbal insults clearly shows you lack sufficient knowledge to challenge his beliefs. How do you know that Islamist's aren't correct and Christianity is leading people to hell instead?
@juker606 No, realist's do not worship any deities because there is no consistent proof that one exists. Also just a note, you can have religion's that do not worship a god or deities, an example of this is Buddhism.
the reality of this subject is that he beleives in this reality so i would expect him to agree with me on the fact that he is here and was created between his mother and father right? so u have a creator is that simple if you beleive in ur mother and father.
Many people associate 'reality' with something negative so it makes sense that they'd turn to faith based religions that promise something better. The Church of Reality is a good idea as long as it offers some reasons why reality is good. Perhaps Byron Katie should be the pope of the COR. She teaches people how to get in touch with reality very easily and says that confusion is the only suffering on the planet. Sanity feels good.
Also you say its impossible for something to have just been floating in space for eternity, well then where did the energy to create our planet come from, who created that? You see there is no answer and this is why religion is so contraversialbe there in only what you believe in, i am not setting out to convert people, just to point out incorrect statements.
@ZebraNinja Look I'm sure there's actual questions that can't be answered by science but can be answered by religion (why were here or something) but the formation of the earth and solar system (and subsequently the energy involved) is easily explained and I'm pretty sure you learn it at GCSE level so please don't propose easily answered scientific questions that you haven't even taken the time to research in order to promote certain religions. Please do your research so you don't look stupid!
hey kungfumaster, if youve never truly read the bible then dont try to understand it. "Evil" on this planet is a choice, and in my belief and those of all believers is that we a required to make the choice whether or not to believe in God and that "Evil" falls under the category of choice. It was never a naive expectation...once again, never try to understand a subject until youve truly know the material.
Take the "creation" theory for example, it's not science, it's written words, but also makes no sense.....it claims some dude was just chilling in basically a void of nothing, with no beginning to this nothing or this dudes existence, and claims this dude decided to make a planet, I mean "world" (back in those days they didn't know about space when this was written) and just where did this dude floating in nothing get the energy to create this world?
A world that this dude created, only to be turned into evil because of his creating of this world with naive expectations, yet this dude knows everything that will ever happen.....sounds kinda fishy to me :D
sir faith is not just religous, is just the belief in an act. Second, science is proven wrong on many occasions, so if you base a religion on science, you are going to be wrong no matter what, if that theory is wrong. Take the big bang theory for example, its science, but makes no sense.....it claims alot of energy was compressed and released to form matter, but where would that energy (that is being compressed) come from.
@ZebraNinja Science is based on proving things and further refining knowledge. Things constantly prove wrong in science and are then proved right or changed, this is how science evolves and how we learn more about the world around us.
I'm not certain 'paradox' is the right term for it, I can't tell you what is, or what would be a suitable paradox for faith, but it doesn't seem to click.
Religion is a good thing for good people and a bad thing for bad people.
