This series never fails me. At first I was surprised in alpha 3 when I saw Roy and Rick from Macross. And now here's Voltron. I never saw the show when I was younger but I heard alot about it, which makes me extremely sad that I barely can understand what the characters are saying and what the story is about.

when does voltron ( I call it Voltron that's the show I saw as a kid) appear in this game. I ask because only one series I've selected (endless waltz) has appeared to stay with the group and I love voltron so needless to say being able to control and kick ass with him would just be epic to me. Thanks for doing this video by the way it really brought me back.

The creaters must know that americans are buying these games, I meen GoLion was nothing in japan, Gundam and Macross ruled the 80s, It was realy populer in america as Voltron though, it was one of the first Giant Robot shows many saw here in the USA.

I actually find it ironic that Tekkaman Blade, an armored human, made it in, while Gold Lightan, a true SUPER ROBOT, didn't make it yet in SRW, as the latter's crossover debut was in Tatsunoko VS Capcom.

unfortunately, thats part of the reason why it wont be brought to the US. with so many different series, and americas obsession with liscensing, it would be far too much work despite it being bought by half of hte population with proper advertising.

Sad thing is, every single series in W has been translated over here (it is, AFAIK, the only SRW to do that), and most of the rights are held by only three or four companies. If any non-OG Super Robot Wars game had a chance to get translated, it was this one.

The game's story actually links them together through a shared history. When they first meet, Kogane(Keith) actually asks Gai to join them. Gai of course declines, but notice all the stages that put them together storywise.

No wonder, GoaGaiGar and Voltron(Golion) for some reason the are familiar to each other, maybe it because of the both using Lions XD, I notice that when I battle EI.1 in the game.

Well, I know groups are trying to translate the GBA games, and the Alpha Gaiden translation got done a few months ago...

That being said, if OGS and OGG didn't make it overseas with no licensing needed, I doubt any of these will ever got officially translated.

It's pretty good. The gameplay is solid, if a bit easy when upgraded, and if you know japanese, the plot is fantastic. If you don't, GameFAQs has a mission by mission story summary.

I like the part during the first Jupiter battle against Lothor and the Primevals where if you have the Nadesico fight Lothor, he apparently prepositions, and gets shot down by, every single female on the team.

GoLion falls in the same rank as other combining robots in past SRW games for having a good array of weapons and power but suffers from accuracy and low armor (Getter Robo being the exception). Compared to MazinKaiser, Shin Getter Robo, and Genesic GaoGaiGar, GoLion falls last. But its advantage over the other three is that it has five pilots, meaning it has a variety of Spirit Commands the player can use to counter GoLion's cons.

Don't bet on it. Takara-Tomy, the toy maker that owns Transformers, is a direct rival of Bandai-Namco. With the exception of GaoGaiGar, none of their works are allowed to be featured in any of the SRW games.

Yes. I got word of it less than a week ago. Takara-Tomy is also said to be really open now on having their other franchises to be added to SRW, considering the game's popularity. So if it goes thru, perhaps we might even see Optimus Prime fighting side-by-side with the Wing Gundam or Mazinger.
