  • and plus the tunnels are RAYS and Sliding hill.

  • its been done to either or people go to both of them to do various activities i've seen people paint balling in both of them i've seen many things their main use is for people to ride bikes in there is a sign at the beginning at the one enterance no difference in skateboarding and biking really both meant to get exercise and there is graffti is in BOTH of the tunnels. Personally i think you're a moron.

  • if it is the sidling hill tunnel i think your talking of that belongs to the east broad top rail road and is owned by them. what you are doing is techically illeagal by railroading laws and you can get into serious trouble. although seeing a video of wrays hill tunnel (not rays) would be a cool thing to see.

  • wow you guys are lame i used to go there all the time to skateboard with friends and i've been all the way through the tunnels and explored all of it and you guys didn't even show all of it and some of the graffti or anything

  • so then go make a better vid, upload it as a video response and shut me down instead of whining about my video like a little beeeeyotch.

  • anyway, graffiti sucks... you can find it on train cars, there's nothing any cooler about it on the side of a abandoned tunnel ;)

  • I was just there today for the first time with a few friends. We went ALL THE WAY in the ventilation shaft and all the way through the two tunnels. Pretty cool.

  • We rode our bikes there in April..the place is really creepy

  • You know, you HAVE to digitize those slides & post the pictures now that you let the secret out.

send me the link when you're done lol ;)

  • Great video! I am from florida used to live in ephrata pa, Was up to for vacation drove 130miles each way to get to ray hill and I also took video of it! I went inside just like you but by myself, Its very creepy and there are some wierd noises on the video. People say it sounds like a ghost but man it was cool. The blower ducts would be eal scary to walk threw. I was amazed at all the old light poles that had knots and all in them were stil there also.

  • I hiked this in my "other life" c. 1975. I have a tray of my turnpike slides--our kids are in disbelief.

  • Yeah and I suppose the fact that I'd already been there twice that year before making this video counts as not knowing anything about the environment right?

    It's all good :)

  • You guys screwed up in so many ways it isn't funny.

When you're exploring old places like this ALWAYS move carefully testing the floor in front before putting weight on it.

  • I got in sideling hills opposite side vent room through those things, a giant hole is right through the window, im guessing there were those steel grate style floors there before. Also, those windows tore a hole right in the crotch of my pants! And for that part thats really dark and full of bars. If you walk through it, your going to get black soot all over you. And yea, every year I go there, no matter what, that really dark part is scary probably because theres no light at the end.

  • Oh man, I used to live in PA! You guys that live there have no idea how lucky you are to live in a state with so much history, The rest of the USA is not like PA, They smash everything down and rebuild everything modernized! I miss old fashioned PA so much. I live in the shit hole of florida right now but moving back here one day!

  • I'm going back out in the spring to get better vid of both tunnels. Ray's & Sideling Hill.

  • ive been there man, its awesome i had a night vision monocular for the tunnel above the tunnel in the fan room

  • Me and a buddy went there last year and took some pics, we walked for route 30. Right above the tunnel before you guys walked in, you passed a bunch of marijuana plants. I took some pictures of them.

  • good vid dont live in pa but i would br scared to go in there

  • Cool... yeah I think most people come from the HWY 30 entrance to the p2b trail. We would have had video of sideling but the stairs up to the vent fans were rusted out :(

the raw video has me scaling the top of sideling hill up by the intake for the vent fans right above the east entrance of sideling hill. it's more than scary up there LOL.

  • Nice video I have been to Sideling hill Tunnel and Cove Valley many times, but I have never seen Rays hill, too long of a walk to get to. It is in MUCH worse condition than Sideling Hill.

  • Thank YOU!

This is my first video, couldn't have picked a more perfect topic :)

I saw your little adventure too, looks like I might try and bring the family. My 3yo might enjoy being pulled behind my bike... probably not exploring though lol.

  • This was great, you guys! You all saw way more of the Rays Hill Tunnel than we did. Of course, there are places that you just can't see with 10- and 14-year-old girls with you. Thanks for sharing!
