Netherland & Switzerland, 99% coverage and no public plan, but insurance companies are regulated like utility companies. Taiwan & Singapore have best medical care system in the world, 99% coverage, high quality, NO WAITING, and they are government run with less 5% GDP. Unreasonable premium, preexisting condition exclusion, changing drug formulary, deny treatment, medicare drug GAP for Senior are just plain wrong. Come on my fellow American, let us fix the healthcare for our children sakes!
The U.S. Health Care Bill has its lows and its highs, but the bottom line is if you and your peers allow the VeriChip/IBM subdermal implantable microchip program to pass (Found on Page 1001 - 1007 of the current U.S. Health Care Bill) the people will revolt in the nastiest way and feel morally and spiritually ethical in doing so. EX: There are those jewish/christian religious types who believe this chip is the BIBLE's revelated, "Mark of the Beast."
That's great about correcting the insurance companies, but please, let us remove the sections of the bill that were added by the vested interests: for example, big pharma and psychiatry. The bill is laden with various clauses that were slipped in to provide almost unlimited excuses to prescribe psychotropic drugs. What would happen if 50% of the population were on mind-altering drugs? Hasn't anyone read "Brave New World"? Are the school shootings and suicide warnings not enough?
I think Congress is going in the wrong direction on Health Care. A public option is not the answer to the problem of high costs. With the Government involved, the costs will only grow. This is evident in all of history whenever any Government entity takes on areas that belong in the private sector. We have 50 States. Each one can be a micro-experiment in how to run a health care system. Lower the Federal income tax rates and keep the money in the States where it belongs.
