My boy Lavelle is going to get some playing time here in 2011 with Britt going to be suspended! Cant Wait! Ive been waiting for this man to break out! Titans Raise Up!
hay niggas lavelle was raised in my neighborhood you lost yo damb mind for saying lavelle is a bust you need to get yo ass beat!!! Lavelle dA 2009 mvp!!!
Brandon Jones has been the number one every year starting in receiving stats but gets hurt. Fisher talked alot about paul williams before last season but he got hurt. If these guys can stay healthy they didnt need to draft a top prospect receiver. Remember bennett? He was an undrafted qb from ucla. Derrick mason? Third round return specialist. So its not like hawkins cant be that guy or if one of the other players can stay healthy. Draft wasnt bad.Jason Jones was a must.cuz if92gets hurt
the one thing ill remember from hawkins is when there was noone within 20 yrds of him and he trips right at the goalline against arizona 2006; a goal line stand on lynch led to no score. final outcome 24-21 cal loses, if he didn't trip cal would as a matter of fact go to the rose bowl(cal loses to usc and tenn but tenn non conference; usc loses to osu and ucla both in conf.) where we would've blown mich's slow big 10 speed out da door!
im personally tired of seein lendale run out of gas after 10 yards so chris was a good pick change of pace back who can be split out wide there was no need in takin limas sweed in the 1st he only got picked one above us in the 2nd we couldve traded one of our 3 4th rounders to move up and hawkins was a great value in the 4th so welcome hawkins and johnson to hell with the rest of them there not worth a damn anyway
oh and good thing we did not draft devin thomas. cause we would be drafting drew rosenhaus along with him. Plus devin thomas looked like a retard during the draft chewing his gum.
titans pickin a TE was dumb cause we have 5 other TE on the roster. chris johnson is sick but titans need to stop drafting speed. we saw wat happened to chris henry's speed. they shoulda drafted limas sweed, than traded to get an early pick in 2nd round to get Chris Johnson.
but henry has absolutely no vision. Speed is what the titans needed and the RBs were getting drafted early and often. Now with the 2nd round they should've traded up to get sweed and while that was a mistake, I really like this hawkins pick.
just compare chris henrys stats with CJs then you will see the difference. in henrys best college year he had 500 yards with a 3.5 ypc average thats nothin compared to cjs stats
Henry was never used much as a running back in college and people felt he could excel there but anyways thats why his college stats arent much to look at.
great addition by the tennessee titans, i don't agree with the 2nd draft choice considering that this class was lacking of high quality DE beside the ones taken in the first round. LB would've been a better fit or DB to complement finnegan and for a future answer for harper's age...i <3 titans!
well he's not, i actually watch cal's games dumbass bitch in tennesee, just cuz he got better stats u stupid; actually watch the games before you make a stupid comment like that. lavell hawkins got single teamed. the one time djax got singled was against oregon where he went for 11rec, 161yd, 2td. djax jus drew atention which helpd hawk.
First off, i'm not in tennessee, i'm just a titans fan. Second, that was my opinion that Hawkins was a better reciever than Jackson. Based on Hawkins size and reliability, he's probably the better RECIEVER prospect. Whereas Djax is the bigger PLAYMAKER, and is probably not yet good enough to be anything more than a slot reciever this year. Being with philly, you can count on alot of screens going his way, in addition to kick returning.
well who cares we'll see they both have decent qbs in the pros but lets face it hawkins and jackson both are great recievers that made nate longshore look better than he really is.
I don't live in tennesee either and im a titans fan also. But you have to admit, the draft was a disappointment. LaVelle was ALL they got to improve on recieving. They needed more.
Yeah looking back I love our draft. C.J is all we could've hoped for and more. And the coolest part is he's so different from titans/oilers backs of old. They've all traditionally been bruisers but this guy has pure unteachable speed and knows how to use it
I must say...LSU is eatin crap NOW for dissin Lavelle Hawkins and callin him a "Cali Boy" like it was a BAD thing. They were SO RUDE and MEAN to him, and now he's shown them ALL what he can do. To all the idiots that treated him bad....HE MADE IT!! And many of YOU DIDN'T! So when you're sittin on your couch with your LSU degree watchin him play for the Tennessee Titans...remember...he was PROUD to be a "Cali Boy"! & I was proud to have him as a student at Edison High. We love you Lavelle! Mama G
Lavelle's a good kid. I'll never forget calling him into my room to talk to him about getting cocky after a touchdown at a HS game and telling him how little SS Vikes and alot of other kids were looking up to him so he should really be aware of his behavior. I have to say, he's grown into a fine young man and always conducts himself in such a manner that we can ALL look up to him. The life struggles he's had to overcome have only made him stronger and he's become a positive role model to all.
There is a classic video where someone asks him how he got his nickname, and he says something like "Well my friends came up with Hawk because it's short for my last name. Then I added "the" to it". Always makes me crack up.
I love this video. Lavelle is my nephew and I couldn't be prouder of him. I got to go the the Tenn, Oregon, and USC games and it was priceless. Seeing these highlights remind me of the games. He got the first touchdown today in the Senior bowl. GO LAVELLE!!WATCH OUT FOR THE HAWK_209!!

Oh yeah.. I forgot to post 1:30 as well. There is nobody there again.
AND, some dork sent me this trying to bragg about how great CAL is. LOL.
Clearly the guy has never been to a Neyland Stadium where every game will seat 107 to 109 thousand people. It does not matter who you are playing.
LOL. Lavelle Hawkins... LOL.....

I'm glad the titans got him. I for one think he's a better reciever than Desean Jackson.

Hawk is a role model for our WRs in '08 in terms of skills, character, and work ethic. Hope he goes far in his pro career.
