Do you want to run 12 leds such that they are all addressed separately? You could use the Arduino pins without resistors for that. In case you need to run all at once (as a group), then you need to use a different schematic.

Hi what would the schematic look like for 12 leds in series? How many resistors would be involved? and what is the best size wire to use?
