  • OOOOOOooooohhhh so THAT's how you do it! I was over thinking it (as I often do with crafts). Okay! I get it now! Also, that's an interesting tatting style you have. Unlike knitting, I've found infinite variations and am still trying to find the single motion/speed tatting style. Again, thanks, I think I finally get it!

  • @wodentoad1 Sorry I had just learned tatting when I was tatting that unusual way, I soon learned properly for that technique. I had made this vid for a friend and posted it and didn't know at the time that it would end up helping so many people. Since it helps so many I decided to leave it up as is and not redo it.

  • @gaa53871 Honestly, in every video I've ever seen, everyone tats differently. I figure if it gets the thread on the right way, then it works. :D

  • @wodentoad1 Ya you are right it does all look slightly different even within using the same method which is totally cool! Though there are different methods out there, there is the most popular one and there is a reason for that, the way you move your shuttle/hands/manipulate the thread can make a difference in the quality and speed and such. Even though I will never be as speedy as some (which is really cool to watch) and that is okay. ;)

  • terrific explanation and demonstration. Thank you!

  • Awesome video!!!! Thanks so so much! :)

  • Sweet!

  • thanks for posting this video! i never understood split rings until now

  • great job. see my tatting speed on you tube

  • Nice work, baby doll. I'm just now graduating to two shuttle tatting. I used to think tatters were crazy (in a good way!) but here I am, addicted and crazy as all get out too! I'll give this a try!!!

  • Oh that's great I'm glad you are learning! Google search Tatting Hiding Tails and it will come up with lots of info and articles! I hope you enjoy learning tatting!

  • What do you do with the tails, knots or adding on if you should need to add more thread?

  • You do the same as with other rings, there is tons of info out there on the web just type in Tatting Split Rings in Google (or hiding tails, knots, adding on, etc.)and you should find out everything you'd like to know.

    Happy Tatting!

  • I am a beginner with tatting so I don't have any experience with knowing what I would do with the tails. I have never done a split ring.

  • very talented....I don't think I've ever heard of it, much less seen it....
