Here's my problem: I know that you're suppose to keep your abs tight during the squat, and I know you should breath obviously. But my problem is that I can't take deep breaths and keep my abs tight at the same time. It feels like I can only breath through my stomach instead of my chest. If I tighten my abs, I can't breath that deeply. If I breath, my abs won't tighten. It's like I can only do one or the other. What do I do? Should I hold my breath at a certain point during the rep?
@vidform You should hold your breath throughout the exercise, like most exercises, HOLD your breath through the rep and breath in between reps, its safer and better for you
Damn among all those wanna be helpful videos this is really good. And I have to sooo agree on those strange tight machines, or whatever those are, that women use...

Not how I would teach a smith machine squat or what I would concentrate on but I generally agree with you and your mindset and the fear of squatting.

Great advice. I've been lifting for over 40 years and I tell people the same thing about stabilizing muscles. You are a good trainer.
